Have you aged ten years overnight on a supermarket website?
Are you sticking to the 'two sheets' rule?
Have you had it with singing celebrities?
Are you yearning for what we will now call The Before Times?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, here's where you come to post threads about Naice Things - like ham and cats. Where The Virus That Must Not Be Named (TVTMNBM) is off-limits.

We'll do our best to keep the corona-free zone moderated - you do your best to chill out and gather strength. Flowers Brew

Keep using the normal boards for normal stuff, but here's where to come if you need a break. We're hoping everyone will see the value of having somewhere to get away from it all.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Salts Mill and Saltaire is quite special. Very special to me...

We first went there about 25 years ago, when the special exhibition was the Dog Paintings series. Do an image search.
We bought a signed print. On the way to get it framed, we met and got chatting to a lady with 3 dachshunds, who told us about an upcoming dachshund show in the area. We'd been thinking it was time we got a dog, so we went along, met some breeders and a few months later got our pup.
Some time after that, we figured, well, that went ok, how about we now try for a baby.... so, that's why I'm on MN I guess. Grin

We're on our second dachshund now, he's basking on a mat by the patio window now.

TheQueef
Look at Leroys floof he's never 'ard

Other cats thought Fat Freddie's Cat (Fido) was just a fluffy hippy until they learned better.

Hi to any other Yorkshire folk . Amazed how many on here know Saltaire and the amazing Salts Mill. What a lovely story errol . I remember that Hockney exhibition and I bought a dinner plate with the gorgeous dogs on . I’ve not been for years now though .

TheQueef · 25/03/2020 16:56

I love to watch the birds but my eyesight is shocking so I can't identify them.
Pigeon aye but the small ones look the same Sad

TheQueef · 25/03/2020 16:57

Also..
Show us your dachshund then Errol don't tease!

SunshineCake · 25/03/2020 17:01

The link doesn't work for me. It says page no longer exists.

TSSDNCOP · 25/03/2020 17:57

Come on Errol dachshunds are my favourite breed. It's only miserable DH that stops me getting one. I'd love a short haired girl who I will call Dulcie.

theoriginalmadambee · 25/03/2020 18:05

On this tread we have pictures to fill a zoo with different species, but only one dog!

Come on errol Grin.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 25/03/2020 18:06

My two woofers

ErrolTheDragon · 25/03/2020 18:06

He's curled up asleep in my office, not light enough for a pic now.
So here's one off my camera roll from a while ago.

TSSDNCOP · 25/03/2020 18:28

Oh Errol he's gorgeous!

And now we have Staffies too. Soft as mince and always so sleepy!

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 25/03/2020 19:04

twinguineapig · 25/03/2020 19:21

Vicki7974 · 25/03/2020 19:38

I’m sorry but I need to confess
I fell of the lent bandwagon and ate chocolate 😣

Bananabixfloof · 25/03/2020 19:43

Oh my I love love love saltaire. Who knew I'd find so many like minded peeps.
I attempted to get pics of birds, every single one was blurry or just shows the birds tail slightly blurry too.
I sat in a hide for hours half hour at least taking photos of birds stealing dog fur for nest lining.
Ah well it was sort of fun.

theoriginalmadambee · 25/03/2020 19:44

twinguineapig oh my, they are soo adorable.

twinguineapig · 25/03/2020 19:47

They were supposed to be short term lodgers until they were old enough to rehome but....well, let's just say it never happened I knew it wouldn't

They're just over 3 months old now.

theoriginalmadambee · 25/03/2020 19:53

Oh but you couldn't give them to others surely, what if they didn't treat them as well as you do?

I so know that feeling Smile. But they are sweet, love the little chirps they make.

twinguineapig · 25/03/2020 20:00

Quite...and they'd been orphaned at 10 days old so they needed to stay with us (we got them from the breeder so we could give them critical care).

theoriginalmadambee · 25/03/2020 20:03

You are a star for rescuing them mother of twinguineapigs Smile.

twinguineapig · 25/03/2020 20:16

They obliged and posed again tonight..just a little bit bigger now! They look scruffy because they are a long haired breed and have an aversion to being combed.
