Post some general boring, everyday, normal shit going on on your life/home. Amusing stories welcome to.

Only rule = no mention of CV, there is a whole topic for that.

I'll start. I used a different washing powder. Pro - it smells nice and must be same one as someone I'm friendly with as reminds me of them! Con - it's made my nose all allergenic. Back to the supermarket own brand one for me.

I had an amazing charity shop haul yesterday for DH. 2 lovely soft and thick lambswool sweaters, one in dark grey and one in dark red from Fatface. 2 polo shirts one from Barbour and the other from Boden. They all look brand new because they still have that crisp feel to them, and it only cost me £18 Smile

Oh oh and last night I was at a bit of a loose end when Guardians of the Galaxy came on the TV. It felt like a special treat just for me, I absolutely love Chris Pratt and would ride him like a Blackpool donkey x

Fabulous thread. I've just rolled out of bed and am off to the gym. Then spending the day doing laundry - as mundane as it gets!

Esiotrot87 · 15/03/2020 11:11

I’m self isolating, so I’ve been keeping myself busy by cutting up old cotton clothes and sewing them to make my own reusable baby wipes.

It’s keeping me busy and I forgot how much I like doing crafty things like sewing and working with fabric etc. I’m also pleased to be taking steps to be more environmentally friendly.

How was the meeting @dementedma ?

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 15/03/2020 14:45

This is a great idea!

Just back from my mum's, the boys have been eating fried food so the house smells and looks gross. Have been round with my ecloth and some gorgeous essential oils to make it clean and fragrant again. Feels great.

Had my first proper chat with a newish neighbour, and that felt great, too.

Looking forward to a casual pizza supper this evening, with Lidl Prosecco and general sofa loveliness. Pleasures of home 💕

I'm having a proper duvet day today (although I did get dressed!) Have just seen Pride & Prejudice (the one with KK and the more realistic Bennet lifestyle) is on TV shortly and can't wait to watch it. It's a bit weird as I have it on DVD too but there's something about it being on TV!

StormOfSekhmet · 15/03/2020 15:28

This thread is so nice and calming!! I'm glad I found it. It soothes my rampant anxiety to read these tales of normality.

HeronLanyon · 15/03/2020 15:44

I have watched the whole of Love is Blind over the last three days. Never watched similar profs so I was a mix of fascinated and horrified and ultimately transfixed.
Baked a loaf of bread for first time in a few years. Used my late ma’s bread tins (she was a massive baker). Caraway rye bread. I’ve eaten quite a bit of it already.
Hope there is more flour in shops tomorrow. It was ultimately calming.

Cagedbirdsinging · 15/03/2020 15:50

I have changed my username . The old one sounded so bland , so harmless !
I like reading posters' cryptic names and thinking about why and how they were chosen .

HeronLanyon · 15/03/2020 15:56

Mine is my favourite two artists.
Love yours - powerful.

PhoneTwattery · 15/03/2020 16:02

@Peaceanddove I bloody LOVE a good charity shop find. Well done!

Frokni · 15/03/2020 16:18

About to start on my new allotment this week. I have got enough seeds to feed a village on the harvest. But i am well into flowers at the mo- the allotment will at least have thar if crops fail Have a fab book called In Bloom by Clare Nolan and i just love it! Really pretty but full of good advice.

DH went to shop and got 3 evening meals in for next 3 days, all are beef mince-based! So i maybe on a health thread on Wednesday night complaining about my digestive system seeming out ofwhack lol!

Good luck @ShirleyPhallus I found watching something funny broke my waters!

bubba22 · 15/03/2020 16:18

I’ve spent the day washing baby clothes for the arrival of DS2 in may

HeronLanyon · 15/03/2020 16:21

I’m finding bird song and bird n’est building business unbelievable comforting right now. Also music - listening and playing - dug out my cello and keyboard. Really understand music therapy - currently loving it.

I posted up thread that my sister was having a baby - he’s here!!! No name. Difficult birth so they are staying in hospital for a bit, and no visitors due to the thing which can’t be named on this thread, but he’s gorgeous (of course).

We had a very nice chicken and cashew curry for lunch which DH made as DD (8) asked for it earlier in the week because she thinks it’s yummy recipe here.

dementedma · 15/03/2020 16:58

It was fine. New boyfriend very nice and extremely tall! Oddly, he reminded us of ex-fiance who was lovely and whom we miss a lot. Its all very odd. Should have had a wedding next week...

FlamingoAndJohn · 15/03/2020 17:16

Hello all. I’m in bed with the cat. DH is doing the ironing and I go to bed to get out of the way.

@FlamingoAndJohn Seems the most sensible thing to do. I like your duvet cover, bet it's lovely to sleep in, cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Am a bit obsessed with white bedding 🤓

LittleMonstersMummy · 15/03/2020 18:24

Love this thread idea! I'm currently holding sleeping DS, waiting five minutes before I risk transferring him into his cot for the night. The birds in my garden hedge are singing a beautiful tune, it's truly stunning. Got an early start as taking DS swimming tomorrow morning and he's now completely okay with going underwater so I'm excited for it!
