Post some general boring, everyday, normal shit going on on your life/home. Amusing stories welcome to.

Only rule = no mention of CV, there is a whole topic for that.

I'll start. I used a different washing powder. Pro - it smells nice and must be same one as someone I'm friendly with as reminds me of them! Con - it's made my nose all allergenic. Back to the supermarket own brand one for me.

Saw lots of daffodils today, feel hopeful about spring

I bought a £1.69 hyacinth from Aldi on Tuesday. It was 3 well-closed sets of leaves.

Gave it a good long drink and put it on a north facing windowsill that afternoon. I already I have flowers opening and that unmistakable scent! GrinGrinGrin

My watermelon wasn't as tasty as I wanted it to be.

And I forgot to wash my navy tights.

londonloves · 12/03/2020 21:11

I just turned on the oven but didn't turn up the temperature. Pie is not cooked. Husband has gone to chippy.

This IS a lovely idea for a thread.

I'm watching the final episode of Supernatural season 2. I'm not sure it was the best choice to watch when alone, especially since the giant fluffy beast has abandoned me for the floor.

One of the characters has just walked in with a large bucket of fried chicken. I'd like some, please.

Wellintentionedreader · 12/03/2020 21:28

@TenCornMaidens ...yep , she did .
It is a small raised freckle I have always had but that became a little pink and itchy after a mild infection . She spends a lot of time at my feet but on this particular occasion as I took off my socks and shoes she was just all over it and VERY insistent .
I love my dog !

BabbleBee · 12/03/2020 21:42

@Peachypips78 the disappointment of looking forward to sinking into a juicy full of flavour watermelon and basically getting dried out cotton wool.... I feel your pain.

undercoveraessedai · 12/03/2020 21:47

Such a lovely thread! I am having an early night after epic kitty cuddles. And I have eaten an entire Easter egg this week - I regret nothing!

Whome91 · 12/03/2020 21:49

My cats asleep on the freezer ( see picture)
And I'm wondering why

Not sure if it's the right chat but does anyone know how referrals for child psychiatry work? I get the impression I need referral from GP even for private is that right?

Plornish · 12/03/2020 22:00

DD(11) had her first ‘Food Technology’ lesson, and brought home six rock cakes. She even ate one, despite not liking currants/raisins/sultanas.

Tootletum · 12/03/2020 22:01

Oh also anyone know when that last limp few episodes of Lucifer is coming? Such a trashy show but totally want to see the ending.

CormoranStrike · 12/03/2020 22:02

I bought some lovely fabric today to sew quilts. One will be a baby quilt with sheep etc, the other doesn’t have a precise project in mind yet

I just found my mum’s spare false teeth. She is delighted!! Smile

GrouchyKiwi · 12/03/2020 22:12

I have just seen a chez lounge for sale on Facebook, so that's pretty exciting.

SparklingLime · 12/03/2020 22:12

There’s some advice on this thread, @Tootletum:

I've been really stressed over a decision I had to make, but The Thing That Can't be mentioned has completely removed one of the two options, there's not a thing I can do about it, I now have no decision to make and I feel SO much better and properly relaxed for the first time in weeks!

AnuvvaMuvva · 12/03/2020 22:15

My parents' gorgeous dog was put to sleep last month (inoperable cancer). They're both in their 80s so no breeders would let them have a puppy. They discovered a rescue charity that specialises in their favourite breed, and brought their new dog home today! He's 7, was dumped in a divorce ☹️ and needs them as much as they need him. 💕

My news: I stopped taking vitamins a few weeks ago to prepare got a blood test. Didn't feel any different so decided vitamins were clearly expensive rubbish. Then I started to feel knackered, miserable and grumpy. Started taking vitamins again and suddenly, a few days later, have all my old energy and enthusiasm back. Am delighted!

Luckypoppy · 12/03/2020 22:17

I had an appraisal at work today and it went really well.

userxx · 12/03/2020 22:18

@AnuvvaMuvva What vitamins are they? I feel like I need them in my life! Think I'm menopausal and generally feel like shit 24/7.

WizzyBee · 12/03/2020 22:21

I think I'm going to stop having a window cleaner.

I can't see the point of paying someone just to rearrange all the flipping rain!

puds11 · 12/03/2020 22:22

Well done @Luckypoppy

I’ve bought the liquid version of the usual Fairy washing powder I use. I’m hoping for a stronger scent of washing powder on my clothes. I know you can get it from the capsules, I just don’t like to use them as they are sold so few in a plastic tub. Does anyone know if the liquid smells stronger than the powder?

userxx · 12/03/2020 22:25

I'm pretty sure it's the fabric conditioner which gives the nice smell. Lenor ocean something or other is lovely.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 12/03/2020 22:27

Beautiful puss cats! And hope all goes well @Wellintentionedreader, your dog is awesome! Mine wouldn’t notice if I dropped dead...except they’d probably try eating me after a while... bloody terriers!! 😂

I’ve had a lovely relaxing day off, far too much Gin, listening to some great audiobooks on YouTube, and totally ignoring all the housework. That’s tomorrow’s job Grin
