Post some general boring, everyday, normal shit going on on your life/home. Amusing stories welcome to.

Only rule = no mention of CV, there is a whole topic for that.

I'll start. I used a different washing powder. Pro - it smells nice and must be same one as someone I'm friendly with as reminds me of them! Con - it's made my nose all allergenic. Back to the supermarket own brand one for me.

badeyebri good luck with flap business. May I (many flaps in my time) offer two words - three actually - filler and duct tape. Not until my third or fourth were they unnecessary. In fact the last one was spectacular fit !!

KurriKawari · 14/03/2020 08:51

@Iusedtobeapartygirl that sounds great! Which online stylist is it?

Bluewavescrashing · 14/03/2020 11:22

Watching celeb GBBO which is very calming and non threatening. DH has taken DCs to Homebase to get some DIY supplies for a garden project.

Karwomannghia · 14/03/2020 11:37

Great idea bluewaves it’s already made me laugh thank you!

Bluewavescrashing · 14/03/2020 12:46

Glad you're enjoying it @karwomannghia!

I've had a lovely doze with the cat on my lap. Watching Aladdin this afternoon with the DCs as they've never seen it.

DMCWelshcakes · 14/03/2020 14:01

I've just eaten a ham salad and a bag of crisps for lunch. I did parkrun this morning in the mud.

A friend is on her way over for the evening.

The house is almost tidy.

It's all good.

Peachypips78 · 14/03/2020 15:21

Today's update:

Made a banana cake

Disassembled an ikea shoe cupboard

IdentifyasTired · 14/03/2020 15:25

I've given up chocolate for Lent. All good so far.

I had a lovely lunch today with the kids then went on the hunt in the pantry for something sweet to finish.

'Ooh, KitKats', I thought!

Opened it. Ate it. Put the wrapper in the bin. Lovely!

10 seconds later...Oh.

LaneBoy · 14/03/2020 15:48

Great thread idea!

I’m a bit bored today and thinking I really need to sort out my mess of a house!

Got an insanely long to do list but it’s not quite so scary anymore - I started ADHD meds in November and it’s making a difference.

DH is bringing me home a Bubble Tea which I’m very excited about :o I love it, anyone else?

GrouchyKiwi · 14/03/2020 16:50

Took my fluffy beast to the vet for her 6 month check up today. Vet is very pleased with her, and promised she won't get bigger, which is good as she's big enough.

And then I got some time to myself at a coffee morning at church, chatting without children interrupting, which was lovely.

DH took the children and the beast out for a walk, so I got to fold washing whilst singing loudly to songs that are actually in my range, which nice.

It has been a lovely day.

Been to the opticians today. Got two pairs of new reading glasses to pick up next Saturday.
Had a coffee and a cake in town with DH and popped into Wilkos for some seeds and onion sets for our allotment.

Now sat drinking tea watching crappy Telly with lovely kind DH. He knows I am anxious so he is making sure we are touching ....he says we are each other's lightning rods

LaneBoy · 14/03/2020 17:25

Aww shadow I love that! I have anxiety issues too, contact does make a difference. 💕

BabbleBee · 14/03/2020 17:38

parkrun this morning, lunch made by DH which was nice to have a break from doing myself and a walk in the woods / den building with the DCs this afternoon. Lush.

Wilding · 14/03/2020 18:20

Wow kiwi what a beautiful dog! I used to house - sit for a couple with a newfie, the bloke collected all his hair from round the house and had a jumper knitted so they could go out for walks together and match Grin

We've been trying to clear some space in the freezer so I'm using up some of my frozen fruit stash - stewed gooseberries for pudding, can't wait!

TeetotalKoala · 14/03/2020 18:37

Today has been a good day. I've done some studying and made a start on my next OU assignment. I've played Lego with the DC, been to the gym and have just home home from taking DS1 to the skate park. Being there makes him so happy and he loves practising tricks, so that makes me happy. Now home and I'm going to cook my tea (DH is sorting the boys out as they're all having the same), I'm going to make a cup of tea and while away half an hour on Zynga poker, my guilty pleasure.

PhoneTwattery · 14/03/2020 18:40

Earmarked the fabulous “best music videos” thread on MN for if I ever find myself with some time to fill...

Also browsed through some books for my rediscovered Kindle.

Have put off cleaning fish tank (my most hated job) until tomorrow! 😩

allthiswasunseen · 14/03/2020 18:55

Picked up my son's birthday cake for his party tomorrow. It is really nice and he is very pleased with it.

Shannith · 14/03/2020 19:02

Lovely thread. I've retreated to chat from Active Corona discussions.

First day after 7 days of self isolation with DD (chicken pox, not TTTMNBN).

Took her to pony club and I groomed my horse why seemed completely unbothered by my absence once she established that I'd forgotten the carrots).

Took DD to her favourite terrible, but she loves it cowboy place for lunch and had dirty ribs, chocolate brownies and ice cream so not that terrible really.

Played with my neighbour's kitten who I'm currently cat sitting for but may now have to move in for a bit as she's trapped overseas due to TTTMNBN until mid April at least.

DD now at her dads so just me the cat and the very stressed and scared foster cat.

Peace and MN for me tonight.

Thank goodness for nice threads like this!

sockittome123 · 14/03/2020 19:09

Today I went to work, got a headache, came home and ate something and took some paracetamol, then went straight off to volunteering. Pie and mash and veg for dinner, now watching Ant & Dec

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 14/03/2020 19:14

It's Guardians of the Galaxy on BBC1 in 5 mins!! This will please me greatly!

tapdancingmum · 14/03/2020 19:16

About to go for a nice long soak in the bath with a cup of tea and my book. Small things but oh so nice.

I have cleaned today and washed all the towels so deserve it Smile

HeronLanyon · 14/03/2020 19:26

Today I have -
Heard a lot of birds carrying on about their business. Busy times for them !
Tickled the tummy of a very very lovely (silly) pup.
Saw gathering of horse riders in Richmond park.
Decided to get my electric keyboard out and do some playing - lots of time at home on hands for one reason or another.

MelAndShoe · 14/03/2020 21:53

I've been watching shit on YouTube. And chain drinking tea. Done little else today.

I got a salad spinner for £1.50 from a charity shop today. Been wanting one for a while but just haven't seen any locally. Had to tell the DC what it was for.
