Juliet
Erica
Molly

Only one DD so a few I'd have loved to use. Some DH vetoed outright!

I love Arabella but I don't think I'd dare inflict it on a child - one day I'll have dog or cat I can use it on. Grin

I also love Meredith but DH said no way! Also love Francesca but I don't like most of the abbreviations so it put me off in the end.

Zoe and Harriet were on our short list and I'd have loved to have the chance to use them.

For a boy I'd always loved Alexander but couldn't have used it because of family.

rockingthelook · 05/03/2020 20:51

Serafina
Lucia
Honey
Evangeline

Robert
Vincent

WinniePig · 05/03/2020 20:51

Flora and Clementine.

Still love my DS name (Wilf)...no other boy’s name comes close!

Why is Erica here so many times, what stopped people from using it...?

Bowerbird5 · 05/03/2020 20:55

For DS2 Serena if a DD
DS 3 I thought was a boy
DD Lydia and now she has a very good friend called Lydia. If a boy Dominic. Or Ethan but felt it too close to Nathan but later on met someone who had one then triplets calling one Ethan. No one ever commented.
Since then Elise I love the sound of it. Still love Dominic. If DD has children I think they will pick something unusual.

I know someone with a Josiah. It suits him.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 05/03/2020 20:57

Dh wanted Finn, but he couldn’t remember it. (I’m glad of that. Neither were Finns)

soundsystem · 05/03/2020 20:57

Margaret

Was going to be DD1s name, but when she was born I thought she didn't look like a Margaret. (I now think it would really suit her, although I do like her actual name as well). DD2 was nearly Margaret but was also called something else in the end.

I almost want to have another DD just so I can use it! (I won't, as would be a bit unfair if I ended up with a DS and used it!)

CormoranStrike · 05/03/2020 20:59

I love the sounds of Erica and it’s Scottish. Connotations - it’s Latin for Heather.

But what put me off is Erica Roe.

For UK mumsnetters... Grin

Sorcha- Ser-i-ka

Aoife- Ee-fa

Saoirse- Seer-sha or (Saoirse Ronan pronounces it like Sur-sha)

Although some are pretty, I would never give my child an Irish name. I detest Gearoid, Caoimhe (reminds me of Quaver crisps!) and Fiachra. Forever mispronounced. I loathe mine. No one knows what it means Hmm

dayswithaY · 05/03/2020 21:05

Angelica
Christabel
Georgette
Ariadne (Ari for short)
Lullaby
Pearl
Lorelei
Leonie

Caleb
Theo
Isaac
Gabriel
Dylan
Donny

Astridd · 05/03/2020 21:08

@Frenchcroissant my DP was the problem (!)

momtoboys · 05/03/2020 21:08

I have 5 boys. I wish I had used Declan and Finn for two of our names.

If I had 5 girls I would have wanted Aoife, Maeve, Maura, Saoirse and Colleen

Zisforstripyoss · 05/03/2020 21:11

Annabel
Nina
Saskia

If I'd had boys, I missed using:

Milo
Zachary

Zisforstripyoss · 05/03/2020 21:11

Oh also Jemima and Meredith.

Speminalium · 05/03/2020 21:14

Vivienne, Genevieve, Wilfred and Jens. My other family...

Frenchcroissant · 05/03/2020 21:15

Oh, I thought there was something wrong with the name! Glad to see there isn't. I've got an Erica but regret not using the spelling Erika. Originally wanted to call her Ariadne or Bianca.

itbemay1 · 05/03/2020 21:20

Evangeline
Patrick

inwood · 05/03/2020 21:21

Verity

Clara

raskolnikova · 05/03/2020 21:26

Not enough children. I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

nosleepp · 05/03/2020 21:27

Lola, there’s already one in my family but I loved it

itisaverywindyday · 05/03/2020 21:32

Fluer

itisaverywindyday · 05/03/2020 21:33

That should be Fleur! Damn phone!! Smile

Disfordarkchocolate · 05/03/2020 21:35

Kit - doesn't go with my surname. I wish I'd changed my surname.

Lyvia - hadn't heard of it when I had a girl to name. She does have a great name though.

JustCheesz · 05/03/2020 21:39
