I would be an osteopath - having been taken from crippling pain to ok by one, I am in awe. Gods amongst men etc. That said, I did fancy being a midwife immediately post baby so maybe I am just suggestible.

oohh after watching the split I would say divorce lawyer

In reality something with websites/ technology design (everyone I know who works in that field has the most flexible working from home arrangements)

zelbazinnamon · 19/02/2020 15:29

I would be a solicitor.

Mintjulia · 19/02/2020 15:29

I’d take a degree in nutrition.

So many people with dietary problems, I’d love to be able to help.

I’d be a doctor. I am a qualified solicitor. Awful job - I hated it!

edwinbear · 19/02/2020 15:52

I would be a scuba diving instructor! Currently a burnt out investment banker with big outgoings so no chance of that any time soon!

inwood · 19/02/2020 15:56

Vet.

LoveFood · 19/02/2020 15:57

If I could also magically be 20kg lighter and much fitter, police.

mumwon · 19/02/2020 15:59

an artist -do a fine art degree

PorridgeAgainAbney · 19/02/2020 16:00

Vet. OR a really good science teacher because the only reason I didn't pursue being a vet was that I hated science and couldn't wait to ditch it. I wish I'd realised how science (in the right hands) is fascinating and opens all sorts of doors.

I always wonder if I might have enjoyed being a barrister... and if I had my time again I might have trained/studied further early on in my 20s.

But as it is I’m pretty happy with my profession - I can’t really imagine anything I’d rather do (which is nice, as a few years back I was f-ing miserable in a job I hated, which I thought I would never escape from. Made a change in my 30s, no regrets).

Herocomplex · 19/02/2020 16:04

Diplomat. I’m very persuasive.

tobee · 19/02/2020 16:09

There are loads of things I'd like to train to do but no idea if I have the ability or temperament sadly.

salty78 · 19/02/2020 16:10

When I was 18 I went to art college and although I wasn't talented enough to make it my job, I looked into being an art historian / conservator but realised I'd taken the wrong A levels. I've been watching the BBC2 programme about the V&A and it's so fascinating, I'm now full of regret I made the wrong choices at 16. But how do you really know when you're that age?

Ended up as a lawyer instead and I've never loved or even really liked my job. It can sometimes be interesting enough to absorb me for a day or two but it's so stressful, much of the stress being due to things beyond my control.

LarryDuff · 19/02/2020 16:10

costume designer for game of thrones

Grasspigeons · 19/02/2020 16:11

Herocomplex · 19/02/2020 16:15

Grasspigeons really worthwhile as well, potential for an excellent career.

EvaHarknessRose · 19/02/2020 16:17

I think I'd like to do laboratory work. My chemistry teacher said I should aim higher. (I'm an occupational therapist btw Grin )

TrippingOnSunshine · 19/02/2020 16:22

I'd be a librarian/archivist. Not to be confused with an anarchist!

LER83 · 19/02/2020 16:22

Nutritionist. Was hoping to go back to uni once youngest was in school but I have recently found out my nearest uni has stopped doing the course!! May look into public health instead. Also fascinated by history/religion and have a degree in Ancient History already.

gavisconismyfriend · 19/02/2020 16:32

A clinical psychologist or a farmer!

Hidingtonothing · 19/02/2020 16:39

Therapist, relationship/sex, can't articulate why really but that's what I am when I picture my dream life.

Charlottejbt · 19/02/2020 16:40

I'd be a librarian/archivist. Not to be confused with an anarchist! It's not either/or. I'd be an archivist AND an anarchist. :) And a freelance writer.

hmmimnotsure · 19/02/2020 16:46

I'd be an engineer.

goldface · 19/02/2020 16:48

I'm an OT too! Nice to hear the positive comments - all too often people don't know what it is!

BookWitch · 19/02/2020 16:53

I'd do something around speech and language development or linguistics
