Keep me company in hospital?

Just that really...

I have a chronic condition so I'm a bit of a frequent flyer but have had two admissions since the beginning of the year which is making me a bit fed up.
Likely to be here for the best part of two weeks.
Some distracting chat would be lovely to cheer me up...

I'm curious what your condition is.
Are the other people on your ward like you or a bunch of 90 yr olds?

Raera · 16/02/2020 15:56

Hi Nacknick.
That's a bit rubbish at least you are not experiencing Storm Dennis in there, although here in West Yorkshire it's not as bad as Ciara was last week.
We went to Aysgarth falls last Tuesday and have never seen them so full, really spectacular and deafening!

Whynosnowyet · 16/02/2020 16:00

Alternatively you could be here trying to house train a dpuppy op...

Sending flowers 💐 and hoping you get out quicker then usual.

Crochetnanigans · 16/02/2020 16:06

Hospitals suck. What are your ward cohorts like?

MrsDrudge · 16/02/2020 16:13

What are your room (Ward?) mates like?
Are you getting visitors? Plenty of nice fruit and chocolates I hope!
Best wishes for a very speedy recovery xx

Nacknick · 16/02/2020 16:16

Wow, he looks like a lively puppy to house train. I bet you're getting lots of exercise!
I guess I'm "lucky" in that my condition means I have to have a private room for infection control reasons (no, I don't have coronavirus Wink ) - so no ward cohorts to keep me occupied....
I did enjoy watching storm Dennis this morning - the rain lashing the windows made it feel quite cosy.
AND I've had some IV paracetamol this afternoon which is the bees-knees.

Gotta try and be positive I guess Smile

I can offer cat pictures if you are partial to a moggy? Failing that I'll tell you that DH was being a cheeky arse this morning while changing DS's nappy. DS is clearly team mum because he peed everywhere. Made me giggle more than it should.

Raera · 16/02/2020 18:14

Aww, I hope that the infection control doesn't mean no visitors allowed.
As IV paracetamol is the bees knees, do a waggle dance (explanation on another thread)
I've always wondered what is so good about bees knees and the dogs bollocks?

Sorry you’re not well🌺- I love how you slipped in it’s not corona 🤪

I also love the cheesy jokes Dan

5zeds · 16/02/2020 19:20

Why is it paracetamol so much better than pills! It really is. I was discharged this morning so I feel your pain. I think it’s the “no outside” feeling that’s awful for me (and the noise and pain obv). I’m sorry your there, cup of tea, movie/book, and a squirt if scent might make you feel less hospital.

BlackeyedSusan · 16/02/2020 19:21

ffs.dan. lets hope her condition is not made worse by either groans of despair/laughter depending on sense of humour. Grin

At least you have a window. What can you see? sky, city scape or another set of hospital windows about four feet away?

Makegoodchoices · 16/02/2020 19:25

Hope the food isn’t too dreadful.

I’ve just introduced my 8yr old to the joy that is cereal for dinner. It’s a proud parenting moment.

Crunchymum · 16/02/2020 19:25

Gosh OP, sounds quite serious (2 week admission, infection control).

Hope you are better soon.

AutumnRose1 · 16/02/2020 19:26

What would you like OP?

Bit of myth, legend, random music videos? Yes, I do have an eclectic shop 😂

Millettmum · 16/02/2020 19:31

I'm having to endure watching angry birds on the tv (for the dss) whilst the dog has snuck next to me as the DH has gone out.

ScarlettDarling · 16/02/2020 19:35

I'm curious about IV paracetamol...what makes it so great?

Hope you've had some visitors today?

Standrewsschool · 16/02/2020 19:36

@whynosnowyet

We need more information about your gorgeous mutt. Name, breed, and more photos

.@milletmum - your Alsatian is Gorgeous also. Name?

5zeds · 16/02/2020 19:37

I'm curious about IV paracetamol...what makes it so great? it works! Just fabulous

SimonJT · 16/02/2020 19:39

Private room, CF?

Do you have anything with you to keep you entertained apart from the internet?

Standrewsschool · 16/02/2020 19:39

I quite listening to the rain also. It’s quite soothing.

I watched the film ‘To catch a thief’ , starring Cary Grant, whilst doing the ironing this afternoon. It also had Grace Kelly in and lovely shots of the French Riveria.. I do like films from that era.

RedDhalia · 16/02/2020 19:46

Hello from me, also currently tucked up in my hospital bed.

I'm in a spinal injuries unit, hopefully out in the next couple of weeks!!

Hope you're feeling ok this evening 💐

Nacknick · 16/02/2020 19:55

Oh wow, so many lovely messages to respond to - will take me a while so bear with me...

@ScarlettDarling IV paracetamol - yes it makes you feel normal and quickly as well! It's worn off now then and not sure when they'll let me have more.

@SimonJT, good guess and you're right. I have internet, iPad and kindle so not all bad.

@DanFmDorking, love the jokes and I will store up some of those for when I'm released back into society Grin

I can't complain really, food is pretty good, I have chocolate, room has a great view over London - I just wish I didn't keep feeling so crap!

Nacknick · 16/02/2020 19:58

@RedDhalia hope you're ok, spinal unit sounds worse than what I'm dealing with. Happy to keep you company for the next couple of weeks Smile
