What's the heaviest/lightest you have been as an adult, what are you now...

and at what point would you say that generally you were happiest with life in general?
I'll go first. I was lightest in my late twenties at 9st 4lb, I'd split up with a boyfriend and had then been ill with a vomiting bug, I was miserable. I was heaviest after the birth of my third child, 13 st 6lb. Funnily enough I can't remember feeling bothered by that (too busy keeping other humans alive!). It's taken over 4 years but I am now at 11 st. I suppose what I'm realising is is that although I think I'd like to be 9st something again, it doesn't really equate to personal happiness does it? and cakes can bring great joy...

5'10 - lightest 125 lb heaviest 165 lb, so never been technically overweight but definitely not skinny.

When I was 125lb, so an unhealthy BMI of under 18, I had a medical issue where I couldn't digest various things. I was skin and bones but was eating like a horse. It was very weird. I got a lot of slightly weird attention from men that troubled me. I looked fragile, not pretty, imo.

Weight not correlated with happiness at all with me, tbh. I put on muscle when I'm happier/more active so I just replace my flabby weight with toned weight! Grin

ShadowOnTheSun · 13/02/2020 13:17

Heaviest 17.7 stone (I'm 5'11). (post)pregnancy+junk food shovelling. Now 9 stone, my lightest ever. In my teenage years I was always about 11 stone.

Happiest at 9 stone, no question about it. Maintaining it for 5 years now (after weight loss). I'm healthy, I look good, feel good and I can wear absolutely anything, as everything fits and looks good on me. After being a huge size 18/20 and not being able to buy the clothes I like as they didn't make my size, it's a fantastic feeling to be able to march in absolutely any shop and ALWAYS find your size AND it looks good. That's my motivation and it's far more important to me than any food imaginable.

Jigsaw2000 · 13/02/2020 13:17

I'm 5'6. I was a chubby looking 10st in my early 20's. I'm now just over 8 stone in my mid 40's.

I've been happy when heavier and I'm happy now.

I'm really not convinced that there is necessarily any correlation between weight and happiness.

Rayna37 · 13/02/2020 13:19

I'm 5'3". Lightest around 8st 5lb, heaviest around 9st 10lb (not baby related) so all within a healthy BMI. I was 10st 1lb one week after giving birth. I've been up and down between 8 1/2 stone and 9 1/2 stone throughout my 20s and 30s. Mostly around 8 3/4 to 9st I would think and a fairly solid 10-12 throughout; almost never a size 8 or size 14 in 20 years, I rarely have had many clothes that don't fit due to weight gain or loss. I'm too short for 14s, the sleeves are too long, so that's my wake-up call.
Currently 8st 10lb, never been happier, but would like to be a few lbs less and a solid size 10. I do correlate happier to thinner (within healthy zone) and bigger to less happy as I find (for me) it's about self worth. Happy = wanting to look good and feel healthy; Unhappy = not caring or motivated enough to eat well and exercise or possibly too busy/stressed to do so.

Alicatz66 · 13/02/2020 13:19

I'm 5 foot 6 and 9.7 stone ... I'm 53 .. I'd love to be 9 stone but in menopause that half a stone is sticking and I'm fed up with doing battle with it !!

iStruggleWithThePast · 13/02/2020 13:20

Im 5'2 and at my heaviest was 11st, my lightest is 7st 10lb which is what i am now,

Funnily enough i am happier when im heavier, but i suspect thats actually due to being hangry a lot when slimmer

NerrSnerr · 13/02/2020 13:23

I'm 5ft1. In my early 20s I weighed about 8 and a half stone. In the last few years the lightest is 9 stone. This Christmas I was 12st 2 which was the heaviest I have ever been. Currently 11st 3 and hoping to be 9 stone again by the summer.

drspouse · 13/02/2020 13:24

I'm in my early 50s. Lightest was 9 st 3 when I was a volunteer overseas and there was no fattening food in the shops and I walked everywhere.
Now nearly 12 stone. Would like to be about 10 1/2 but it's looking increasingly impossible. I have an injury which means I can't do most weight bearing exercise.

drspouse · 13/02/2020 13:25

(I used to be really good at losing weight, slowly, when I could do lots of exercise).

IShouldBeSoLurky · 13/02/2020 13:26

I’m 47 and 5’8. 11 stone was my heaviest during my miserable marriage. Lightest was 8 stone 11 around 10 months ago. Then I started weight training and am back up to 9 stone 2 or 3. I’m a size 8-10. Have a large frame which won’t change but overall I’m very happy with how my body looks and feels.

LaurieFairyCake · 13/02/2020 13:26

120 lbs aged 20

227 lbs aged 48

Now 194 lbs and heading to a goal of 140 lbs

Chickydoo · 13/02/2020 13:28

In my 50's
Lightest 7'10
Heaviest 8'8 (pregnancies aside)
I am 8'8 now. 5ft 7"

TwoZeroTwoZero · 13/02/2020 13:30

I was 8st something all the way up to my 30s when the weight started to creep up. A few months after dc1 was born I was 10st 10 and lost a stone before getting pregnant with dc2. A few months after dc 2 was born I was 11st. I lost it all and went down to 9st, partly because I had gallbladder trouble. Now, at nearly 40, I'm 11st 10. The heaviest I've ever been, pre-diabetic, high blood pressure, high-ish cholesterol. I need to lose weight properly and keep it off and am really struggling.

TrickyKid · 13/02/2020 13:30

Lightest 7.5 stone. Heaviest 11st (now) ideal weight 8.5

MaMisled · 13/02/2020 13:35

My heaviest was 13st 13lb, not even pregnant! Im 5ft 2in. Three young DC kept me around 11st for years. Dieted down to 8st 3lb and had proudly maintained for 3 years. Last summer, serious illness saw weight plummet to 6st 6lb. Now healthy weight again, 8st 6lb.

Pilot12 · 13/02/2020 13:37

50kg when I 25, smoked a lot and hardly ate anything to 69kg when I was pregnant with my second. I'm now 44 and 61kg, trying to get down to 53kg.

suchsweetsorrow82 · 13/02/2020 13:40

The lightest weight I have been is 7st 10lb. I thought I looked amazing at the time. Great in a bikini but looking back at photos face was very gaunt and I looked quite frail. I was still within the healthy weight range for my height though.

Heaviest I have been was 11st after childbirth. Put me in the obese category and I looked and felt awful.

Currently 9st. Generally happy with that, feel confident in clothes etc but would like to drop half a stone to feel
Comfortable in a bikini again. Would only feel
Comfortable wearing a swimsuit currently.

Teapotdespot · 13/02/2020 13:42

I’m 5ft 5in.

Lowest ever adult weight 13st 13lbs ages 22, highest ever adult weight 20st 1lb ages 29....

I’m still 29 and currently weigh 19st on the nose.

PCOS is how I gained 6 stone in 7 years despite actually losing 4 stone in the middle of that at one point, so in reality I’ve gained more like 10st in 6 years if you exclude the year where I lost a bit of it.

With PCOS comes insulin resistance and a whole host of other delightful things, including rapid weight gain.

I’m losing it again now thanks to LCHF but it’s a bastard it really is.

TheFluffiestCat · 13/02/2020 13:44

Lightest 8st, when I was trying to look after my terminally ill dad while living 70 miles away, running a business that wasn't going well and also therefore job-hunting. I felt amazing at that weight but looked like a lollipop on a stick, looking back.

Heaviest excluding post-baby, about 11 stone. Looked and felt like a blob.

Currently about 10 stone, been eating shite since Christmas. I will have to give myself a shake because my fat-day jeans are getting tight. I look reasonable at 9.5 but better at 9. This means running and thinking about what I put in my mouth. I feel much healthier for it but it's hard to get started when I've been spiralling in the wrong direction.

Camomila · 13/02/2020 13:50

I'm 5'3", my usual weight is about 50/51kg
The lightest I've been as an adult is about 47kg - when breastfeeding DS1 and also after stomach bugs I always lose weight.
Heaviest was 61kg - last time I weighed myself before giving birth to DS2.
DS2 is 2 and a half weeks old and I'm 55kg. I hope I get back down to my usual weight quickly as hardly any of my clothes fit me and I don't want to buy more as I feel guilty about the environment (my maternity clothes are too big as my bum'ps pretty much gone)

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 13/02/2020 13:54

@RoyalChocolat - 8 stone 7 at five foot 7? Yikes indeed! Flowers Hope you've managed to overcome the ed x

quirrels · 13/02/2020 13:56

I'm 5'8". I've weighed roughly 10 stone all my adult life and I am 61.
Heaviest was 11stone at 9 months pregnant and lightest under 9 stone in early pregnancy due to hyperemesis.

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 13/02/2020 13:56

I always think how amazing that only being a couple of inches taller or shorter, can naturally equal about half a stone more or less in weight!

PhoneLock · 13/02/2020 13:58

There's all sorts of variable though. A long neck ads height but not much weight, for example. Huge boobs might do the opposite.
