The Robbing Butcher - Bemused by the Patio at FrogMhor Cottage

What next for the Robbing Butcher?

Will he wander past Mhor Cottage several times a day so that he can keep an eye on the progress of the patio?

Will Mr. Mhor's measurements turn out to be wrong? And will Mustress Mhor and her DH have too many SLABS as a result?

If they do, what will they do with them?

Will the eggs be dippy tomorrow?

I am only ok today - weather is grey and I have a two hour dental appointment this afternoon.

I preferred the snow but that only lasted half a day.

7Worfs · 13/02/2020 13:07

The other thread makes me chuckle. Some of the posts I can hear the foam (or is it froth?) dripping on the keyboard Grin

yolofish · 13/02/2020 13:10

2 hours at the dentist - not fun. I hate all that having to keep your mouth open, and I get really scared I will drown on the saliva. sorry 7 that's probably not helpful!

I think they (some of them) foam at the mouth, and the resulting froth is what hits the keyboard? I'm sure there's a technical difference between foam and froth but really cba to find out.

TheMustressMhor · 13/02/2020 13:53

So.

Mr. Mhor served me a dippy egg this morning, whilst saying casually "can you order another two bags of chippings for the patio, Mustress?"

Right.

Another two. You read that right, comrades. So far we have bought one bag - then two more -and now we allegedly require a further two.

I am losing the will to live.

And WRT Yolo's BLOG

It seems that not only is the author a TechnoFuckwit but all her customers so far also self-ID as TFs.

Could this be a record?

Are you lot discussing Thread 86 (or whatever number you've got to now)?

MYSTERY IN SCOTTISH VILLAGE

The Robbing Butcher was open again today.

This is unprecedented.

He is now the talk of the village.

He will be in the local paper next.

see mustress it's all about the aesthetics with yer chippings. You put a bag down and think, 'ooh would be so much better with another one' and it kind of carries on ad infinitum. BTDTGT.

So really, mr mhor is doing you a favour in the long run, by ensuring you are pleased with the final result and do NOT set foot on the new patio for the first time in July and say 'why the fuck didnt you put more chippings down?'. Self preservation, innit.

TheMustressMhor · 13/02/2020 15:11

Why the fuck didn't you put more chippings down

It may yet come to that.

I do hope the weather is kind and you get to step on the new patio before July mustress - maybe in April?

Also re chippings, they can bounce around a bit in heavy rain and need sweeping back into place.

Just sayin'. (sorry).

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/02/2020 16:48

I do the mould picking and chopping, too, ThumbWitches . . .

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/02/2020 16:50

I have more than subscribed to the Big Sussex House, Yolo - I have COMMENTED (awaiting moderation - could be banned yet!)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/02/2020 16:52

What other thread 8Yolo*?

I like a lazy, sexist stereotype myself.

yolofish · 13/02/2020 18:23

ooh it's you schadenfreude right, off now to approve it. I thought it was funny! Tother thread is called something like Hubris and Malarkey in the RF section.

yolofish · 13/02/2020 21:08

This fred is suspiciously quiet. I do hope mr. mhor has not been buried vertically under remaining single patio slab? Surely not, he has better things to do like visiting the Robbing Butcher.

I am quietly thriving, waiting for DD2 to get back from that Lunnon with lovely boyf who travelled from uni in Wales to surprise her after work tonight (with my connivance). She cried, bless her.

DandyAF · 13/02/2020 21:11

Oh yolo that’s lovely.

I’ve had a difficult week dealing with a big safeguarding issues. My health isn’t good and it’s getting me down and I’m quite grumpy and low right now. Sooooo not thriving.

Sorry for misery post.

yolofish · 13/02/2020 21:17

oh dandy sweet pea, have a big hug and a large Wine. My ladies wot lunch yesterday was with friend who has been signed off (social work) for 4 weeks, basically burned out.

7Worfs · 13/02/2020 22:05

Dandy hope your weekend is better, wish I could help Cake

I'm quietly suffering with jaw bone pain, but it will all be worth it after I get the permanent crowns on those darn implants.

yolo it's getting scarily common for people to get so overworked. Sad I'm blessed with some serious selfish self-preservation instinct so I am not in any immediate danger, though I tend to martyr at home.

DivinationDandy · 13/02/2020 22:40

Thank you lovely yolo and bless you Worfs. Your poor sore tooths.

DivinationDandy · 13/02/2020 22:41

Argh I did it again with the wrong name per thread. Not that it matters, you know it’s me. Would be a crap attempt at sock puppeting Grin

yolofish · 14/02/2020 13:27

yeah, we know it's you dandy - unmistakeable! I couldnt cope with name changes, I tried it once for something and completely failed with my 2nd post.

7 hope jaw not too bad. I prescribe Wine

Is everyone else thriving?

I am just off to walk the dog before Storm Dennis hits. She won't like it, because the tide is too high for her to swim, but OTH she's whinging gently beside me...

yolofish · 14/02/2020 15:29

Horrible blowy walk, wind was really um, bracing. I am so braced now that I have Wine - it's Friday afternoon, I really don't care Grin

7Worfs · 14/02/2020 17:52

Weather is fine in Lincolnshire, the nation’s cabbage crops are safe.

Dinner was very spicy lamb koftas with various veg as accompaniment.

I’m almost thriving Brew
