The Robbing Butcher - Bemused by the Patio at FrogMhor Cottage

TheMustressMhor · 08/02/2020 10:58

What next for the Robbing Butcher?

Will he wander past Mhor Cottage several times a day so that he can keep an eye on the progress of the patio?

Will Mr. Mhor's measurements turn out to be wrong? And will Mustress Mhor and her DH have too many SLABS as a result?

If they do, what will they do with them?

Will the eggs be dippy tomorrow?

Coffee all day.
I’m from a culture that drinks tea (herbal usually) only when ill.

Which I currently am! Baby went through it and now he’s fine, I’m not. Ah, the circle of life.

Cuttingthegrass · 10/03/2020 10:53

Sorry to hear so many are struggling with difficulties in their lives Brew Cake Flowers Gin Wine ... I think that covers everything?

And the unfathamable opening times of RB, Mhor, but then again, with his secrecy when open, he may be helping your diet having followed this thread Grin

TheMustressMhor · 10/03/2020 10:59

Cutting I would be surprised if the RB was helping anything other than the Mhors' bank balance at the moment.

I generally go for a short walk in the mornings and have realised that I intentionally go past his shop now, so that I can report on whether or not he is open.

Is that sad? Do I need a more interesting occupation? Does anyone else have any strange peccadilloes to report, or is it just me?

Mhor I applaud your dedication in going for a walk everyday without the need to walk a pet. That is very good for physical and mental wellbeing.

Having purchased a new patio cleaning toy I am gathering motivation to get dressed and use it. In fairness I am struggling with a virus. But it’s MN that is my procrastination Grin

TheMustressMhor · 10/03/2020 11:17

And we drink tea all day long.

Mr. Mhor drinks beer as well but not for breakfast.

I have (reluctantly) side-lined booze for the foreseeable future. It is constituted of so many useless calories and I am suffering with Shrinking Clothes Syndrome, a la yolofish.

Coffee in the morning. Tea after noon. Wine after five

GracefulHippo · 10/03/2020 12:13

Mr Hippo drinks coffee in the morning.

When he stayed at my granny’s house the first time (I am Scandinavian), she proudly served him a full English, complete with two large cans of beer for breakfast. She was convinced that all Englishmen drank beer for breakfast Grin. He was quite surprised.... and very polite, so also drank most of it (gave him a good story for several years).

7Worfs · 10/03/2020 12:29

Two beers for breakfast Grin

A morning constitutional is an excellent thing, too.

yolofish · 10/03/2020 12:42

loving the two beers for breakfast hippo combined with a full English must have set him up for the day! Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/03/2020 13:03

Your granny sounds lovely, Hippo! How kind and hospitable of her.

yolofish · 10/03/2020 14:04

Right have to gird my loins and take the dog out in a howling bloody gale, yet AGAIN.

This weather does not make me thrive, OTH not currently actually raining, so good plan to go now. If the sun ever comes out again I will post chicken photos for your delectation (6 eggs today out of 7 chooks).

I think I'd have like hippo granny too, one of mine was an old bag and the other although lovely died relatively early. Certainly neither of them was ever in a position to give DH 2 cans of beer for breakfast - which is probs a good thing.

GracefulHippo · 10/03/2020 14:23

I loved my grannies, we were really close. Both short, always well dressed and with spines of steel having lived through two world wars.

Mr Hippo was beyond surprised though. Couldn’t believe a little white haired granny would crack open a can of beer at 8.30 am Grin.

Not raining here. I have managed a long walk, feeling very proud of myself!!

Leftovers for dinner. LittleBoyHippo has a school event and will only be home for 30-40 min. The chicken curry from yesterday will be perfect (and easy)!!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/03/2020 15:21

I am definitely not thriving as I was due to fly somewhere warm this morning (not Italy). Plans abandoned due to Coronavirus and the risk of getting stuck overseas. Not happy.

7Worfs · 10/03/2020 15:37

Mischief another holiday! You are Beatrice York and I claim my £5!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/03/2020 15:52

I am retired, an orphan and catching up for lost time 7! In all seriousness, this was to do with my late DM and it's a pain in the rear not being able to go as I have stuff to sort out. But a bit of sunshine would have helped things along no end.

yolofish · 10/03/2020 15:52

oh fleas that's a bugger! so sorry, you will have to stay and talk shit with us. We are due to fly to Geneva 2 weeks today and then get some kind of bus to where DD1 is in French Alps (skiing distance to Italy). I really want to go and see her, but I also really dont want to go and have DH exposed to virus, or get stuck there... Also due to go to Antwerp in about 5 weeks for David Gray White Ladder gig. Going by car, so maybe that will still be allowed? We also have DH godson getting married in Tuscany in June, and family hols planned around that. I feel so sorry for the b&g.

TheMustressMhor · 10/03/2020 15:55

Fleas were you really going on another holiday?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/03/2020 15:57

Have pm'd you, yolo Wink

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/03/2020 16:00

Some might describe it as a holiday, Mustress, not me at the moment! I'm sorting out my DM's estate and have just received a loooong list of the things I need to provide to the agent over there if I don't go over in person. Then she'll tell me what it's going to cost.

7Worfs · 10/03/2020 16:01

I hope travel eases up soon, this corona malarkey needs to end in spring

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 10/03/2020 16:02

Ahh what complete bummer myimaginary

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 10/03/2020 16:03

What a. Goodness the force is weak with this one today!!

yolofish · 10/03/2020 16:04

fleas that's a tough call, it was hard enough doing it in the UK for my mum who lived literally round the corner. Doing it in another country must be fucking mindblowing Wine

I wish they'd tighten up on travel tbh, if they are going to - would mean we'd get some money back (I hope) and have the decisions made for us.

yolofish · 10/03/2020 16:34

catherine I cannot imagine the force ever being weak with you, I suspect, in the nicest possible way, you are a force of nature!!
