The Robbing Butcher - Bemused by the Patio at FrogMhor Cottage

TheMustressMhor · 08/02/2020 10:58

What next for the Robbing Butcher?

Will he wander past Mhor Cottage several times a day so that he can keep an eye on the progress of the patio?

Will Mr. Mhor's measurements turn out to be wrong? And will Mustress Mhor and her DH have too many SLABS as a result?

If they do, what will they do with them?

Will the eggs be dippy tomorrow?

Mustress
Just a small point I thought I would raise. A patio should not be level, a good patio will very slightly slope to allow for water to run off. Of course a massive drop is a different matter.
For all of you suffering rain this week, I live in the Brecon Beacons and it's extraordinarily wet here.
They've forecast snow tonight. Ha, snow! I used to live in the far North East of Scotland, they don't know what real snow is here compared to the blizzards up there.

I totally agree with what you said Yolo, it's just not PC to say it.

If I was to say what I think of the whole 'racism' situation with regards to MM from a racial and class perspective I'd be banned. I bite my tongue.

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 22:14

Absolutepower where?

My mother was born in Brora.

Oh, and the patio seems to - undulate.

Maybe I'm imagining it.

what absolute said, you need a little bit of drain off. Of course, if Mr. Mhor has put a 90 degree slope on it then mustress may find it difficult to put the deckchairs out... or stay in them if she does Grin

FWIW, we recently had a new shed built. Mr Yolo took exception to the doors, and replaced them at vast expense (to him). I havent yet pointed out to him that they let rain in... did I mention it's raining again here?

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 22:17

PLEASE keep a lid on your anger.

The Robbing Butcher would not like his circular square sausage (even the SSSS) to be deleted too.

Mustress
Not as far North as your mother but a bloody long way from Wales. We lived in Stonehaven and then in a little village just north of Montrose with a fabulous beach.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 25/02/2020 22:18

There's an online shop called Brora. I like the classic clothes but can never afford anything.

Yes a patio needs a slight tilt so water can run off.

yolofish · 25/02/2020 22:20

I've found an online shop called Nomads which I really like - appreciate this has nothing to do with Brora, Argyll or SSSS. Their sales are really good, and the stuff is lovely quality. It is possibly for old people like me, but at least its not Per Una!!

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 25/02/2020 22:21

Sorry not meaning to derail. Shall I get my comments deleted? Or someone can report, I'm fine either way. Although personally I think the TAAT rule should be equally applied to some other threads I've seen that have been about ours and have remained. But I digress.

Alsohuman · 25/02/2020 22:22

I finished The Stranger on Sunday. That’s another eight hours of my life I’ll never get back.

yolofish · 25/02/2020 22:22

OMG HMQ is on the telly! DD2 loves her and gets all soppy about her, says she reminds her of her own grandma. Thinking about my mum, I can see very little similarity between the two apart from white hair and a posh accent.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 25/02/2020 22:23

On tele where?

Froq · 25/02/2020 22:24

I take a bath, come back and the thread has gone Shock how long was I in there for?!

ilovejeffgoldblum · 25/02/2020 22:26

Mustress my dh is from Ayrshire, but used to summer in Stornaway , do you know it ?

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 25/02/2020 22:26

I don't know Froq but it must have been a good one Grin

LaMarschallin · 25/02/2020 22:26

Froq

I take a bath, come back and the thread has gone shock how long was I in there for?!

Basically, for a whole series of "Dallas", Bobby.

(Are you sure it was a bath and not a shower?)

ilovejeffgoldblum · 25/02/2020 22:27

Kilbirnie to be precise Smile

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 22:28

I think your posts are ok, Catherine.

My mother's first job after leaving school was in the Brora woollen mill.

OP posts:
ilovejeffgoldblum · 25/02/2020 22:28

Ha yes froq I was in shower then cooking tea !

Absolutepowercorrupts · 25/02/2020 22:32

I used to love Dallas but the Bobby shower thing was really silly. The stupidity started when they changed Miss Ellie, I really wanted someone to say "aw Miss Ellie you're a changed woman" I think they'd been on holiday.

Froq · 25/02/2020 22:33

Grin it really was, candles and everything.

So MNHQ acknowledge there are posters trying to derail and get it deleted then go ahead and oblige them by deleting.

I hope everyone enjoyed pancake day - adding cinnamon was a genius suggestion btw!

ilovejeffgoldblum · 25/02/2020 22:34

Interesting fact apparently David tennant was in the year below him in school!

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 22:35

I never took to the new Fallon in Die-nasty.

Had to force myself to keep watching for glimpses of Jeff (sp?) Colby.

(I know! What was I thinking? That hair! But I was at an impressionable age)
