Accusations of racism are a classic way to get a thread pulled. MN are hyper sensitive and will pull because one person says they're offended. Forget everyone else on the thread who doesn't see it.

Mind you Yolo, I think MNHQ would have given you a warning if that was the case.

Frankly I think MNHQ approach is unfair. Pulling an entire thread knowing full well what is going on and that that is the intention.

I really didnt say anything racist at all. If I can remember, I said that in M's position racism directed to her by the media was a lot less damaging than being Joe/Joanna on the street and getting spat at/beaten up/picked up by the police more often. And that she/they had a platform from which to approach it, and ran away instead. And I absolutely hold by that opinion.

I agree, 7, but it keeps happening.

Few people seem able to scroll by: either they engage (while sometimes telling others to ignore) or they have to point out they're scrolling on by.

It's really hard to just ignore some posts, I know, but a measure of self control is needed.

And we'd probably better stop commenting here, I guess, or MNHQ may close this thread down.

Delurking here. I haven't kept up with all the threads by any stretch but I get the impression some people are determined to defend Lady Macbeth at all costs and maintain the narrative of the beastly racism.

It's like being back at school when the whole class were punished for the behaviour of a couple of troublemakers.

FWIW I enjoyed most of that thread that I saw.

DD2 and I just watched The Stranger, only one more episode to go. It is as weird as fuck and I cannot work out whether we are enjoying it or not. Moving on to the Windsors next as sounds much more up my street!
