The Robbing Butcher - Bemused by the Patio at FrogMhor Cottage

TheMustressMhor · 08/02/2020 10:58

What next for the Robbing Butcher?

Will he wander past Mhor Cottage several times a day so that he can keep an eye on the progress of the patio?

Will Mr. Mhor's measurements turn out to be wrong? And will Mustress Mhor and her DH have too many SLABS as a result?

If they do, what will they do with them?

Will the eggs be dippy tomorrow?

Ha! It's a bit soggy here, but not bad.

I'm not thriving - Mr Worfs had the temerity to open a can of Pringles next to me. It's taking a lot for me to not break fast.

yolofish · 24/02/2020 20:21

urgh Pringles - like eating cardboard!!

7Worfs · 24/02/2020 20:30

Sour cream & onion flavoured cardboard though!

TheMustressMhor · 24/02/2020 20:31

Oh I dunno, yolo.

I quite like Pringles.

Hello everyone!

I have name changed (was BabyShark) i saw someone say this and it made me giggled and reminded me of me so its my name!

So waddimiss? 😂 (i know i know i need a life!)

yolofish · 24/02/2020 21:36

Actually should say, although I am whinging about rain and my field is under more water than I've ever seen in over 20 years... those poor sods in Wales/Shrewsbury etc,

TheMustressMhor · 24/02/2020 22:57

Yeah, well I'm definitely whinging this evening. Earache.

Luckily, in our village, we can always get a same-day appointment. Having also lived in London I know that we are very lucky in this respect.

In fact, even if I phoned the surgery at 3 p.m. the phone would be answered immediately and if I needed to see the doctor or nurse practitioner immediately, I would be fitted in.

So I shall take some (more) co-codamol and go to bed with a hot water bottle on my head.

Sorry to read of various ills and misfortunes!

The Husband is claiming illness as well. He returned from "Conference" 4 day bingefest in Melbourne on Saturday, claiming "man flu" hangover
This continued through to Sunday and then yesterday he went off to work quite merrily, due to stay out last night and tonight. He phoned this morning to say he'd be home later today as he's "definitely ill" so perhaps I shouldn't have dismissed his concerns quite so lightly! We'll see, I'm still thinking it's residual alcohol poisoning but you never know!

I am surviving - had a stressful P&C (out equivalent of PTA) situation over the weekend but it's all resolved now, thank goodness - people, honestly!

We used to be able to get same-day appts with our local GP but the GP situation is getting bad in our area - some villages don't even have one, others are closing their books and all of them are now charging for many of the services that used to be covered under Medicare. Kids and OAPs are still ok, but the rest of us...

DInner last night was fried rice with re-fried turkey meatballs and peas. I'd made the turkey meatballs last week and there weren't enough of them left to use on pasta, but they did very well chopped up in the turmeric-coloured fried rice! I believe tonight we will be having leek and potato soup, as the sons both expressed a wish for that and since the Husband will be ill, soup would be good for him too. Ha!

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 11:52

The Robbing Butcher is still shut.

WTF?

He's on a plane to Canada mustress, he is finding your detailing of his exploits An Intrusion. HTH!

In other news, I am covered in black paint as managed to get more on the picket fence (well, more on me tbh). Must remember to wash face before I nip out to replenish Wine stocks.

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 14:27

I would keep the paint on as a disguise, yolofish.

You might be able to nick the Wine if nobody could see who you were.

TODAY'S NEWS

a) Final delivery of slate shells (thank God)

b) Mr. Mhor declares patio completed

c) Robbing Butcher opens shops again (also thank God)

d) NDN comes to compliment the Mhors on the patio.

Over and Out.

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 17:44

Jeez.

RB opens shop not shops.

It would be unnecessarily complicated for the RB to have more than one shop.

7Worfs · 25/02/2020 18:25

Congrats on the patio completion, Mhors!

Nothing much to report here... baby settling session this afternoon went well.

I ate Pringles last night and chased them down with some chocolate too. Blush

yolofish · 25/02/2020 18:33

I still have paint on my face, on account of making mr. yolo go shopping (result! he paid and we have more food than I would have bought).

It is raining AGAIN. I still hate Pringles. DD1 is feeling better, hurrah, but DD2 will be late home again tonight, boo. And DH had another bag disaster last night which involved me throwing away sheet and duvet cover. Poor sod, it's really distressing and so bad for his confidence and I dont really know how to help other than not making a thing of it and being sympathetic to his feelings.

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 18:42

yolo it sounds so difficult and you are clearly being very sensitive to Mr. Yolo's needs.

It can't be easy for either of you.

thanks mustress it's all a bit shit - pun intended. Hopefully when he finishes this bout of chemo and his system settles down it will become easier.

ilovejeffgoldblum · 25/02/2020 18:50

I've seriously slipped ☹️, I've just scoffed 4 ferro rocher!!

7Worfs · 25/02/2020 18:51

yolo Flowers I laughed at your pun - humour is the way to go (pun wasn't intended!)

ilovejeffgoldblum · 25/02/2020 18:51

It maybe because if just learned mrjeff is off to Amsterdam tomorrow for work for a week ☹️

ilovejeffgoldblum · 25/02/2020 18:53

Thanks sorry yolo , didn't see your post, mine seems insensitive now , wasn't meant to be ! Blush

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 19:00

I am going mental with earache.

I finally went to the doctor this afternoon and he gave me some drops.

Fuck.

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 19:02

yolo keep things as humorous as you can, whenever you can.

Dealing with colostomy bags, chemo and (I assume) cancer is very challenging.

I wish we could do more to help you.

OP posts:
yolofish · 25/02/2020 19:16

earache is the pits, you have my sympathy mustress. Hottie on the head, alcohol and drugs?

Please people, dont worry about any perceived insensitivies, we spend a lot of time making jokes about crap (and even, really crap jokes!)

TheMustressMhor · 25/02/2020 19:35

Ha ha for the medical advice, yolo.

I have OD 'ed on co-codamol and am supping a good deal of sherry. more than usual anyway

And I have just sent Mr. Mhor back to the kitchen to renew the hottie.

I made a tactical error yesterday. You know those pads you can buy from the chemist's for joint pains - you stick them to the affected area and they warm up - well, I got one and stuck it over my ear.

Jesus. I must have pulled half my hair out with it when I peeled it off.

Doh.
