TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 12:00

Has anyone any advice?

I simply want a fried egg in the morning in which the yolk is dippy.

I do not, however, want a divorce.

Thoughts?

My DS loves. Full English
Decent fried egg: non stick pan with lid; tiny bit of oil.
Warm pan but not sizzling, crack open egg. Tip from side to side so uncooked white slides off and cooks.put lid on; switch off and leave to cook in own heat. No brown bits; white cooked; yolk soft!

ilovejeffgoldblum · 26/01/2020 12:03

WendyMoira I can chase after you, you know.

@TheMustressMhor

How about a

You could just have it plain ( without the spinach and mushrooms).
Looks like a cross between a poached egg and soft boiled egg.

(I’ve had scrambled eggs this morning, but I might make coddled eggs with a bit of grated cheese and marmite soldiers!)

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 26/01/2020 12:11

Sheesh Curly I know how to fry eggs myself

Time for that sherry!
Wink

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 26/01/2020 12:11

When I make egg mayonnaise for sandwiches I don't put all the yolks in. So if I use six eggs I would only put three of the yolks in as I prefer the texture.

😈

TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 12:14

Curly I know you are trying to be helpful here but a bit of marriage guidance is what I'm after, not methods of cooking eggs.

So.….how do I get Mr. Mhor to stop serving me hard fried eggs?

If I could do this face to him, I would, Hmm

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 12:16

Every fucking day.

TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 12:18

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 26/01/2020 12:31

@TheMustressMhor
Choose your battles:
Get him to plate up the rest, put it in the oven and make the egg yourself....

goldierocks · 26/01/2020 12:32

I actually like the white bit, especially if it's got lightly crispy edges.

This wouldn't be right for a family, but it works for me - single egg frying pan

3 mins 20 seconds for a medium-sized free range hen's egg, 3 mins 50 seconds for a large egg. Perfect dippy yoke and no snotty white bits, yum.

This thread has reminded me of the late, great Victoria Wood and that scene in Dinnerladies when she tells a chap to leave the white 'cos it's only placenta!'
