A thread intended for menus, cats and idle chit-chat.

Thanks

ilovejeffgoldblum · 25/01/2020 23:42

Nite all 😌

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/01/2020 23:51

Thread 14 is going the way of thread 13, despite yolo's best efforts. There are some very interesting and insightful posts there but I daren't comment.

Argh....... In my case, it's not just meowing. She escalates to wardrobe door banging, then pawing at my head!

I may as well put a load of laundry on. What's the betting that by the time I'm finished, my cat will be sleeping angellically....

Good morning all, I hope everyone enjoys their day Smile

Top of the morning!
Been up since 5.45am.
Teething and whinging in full swing, send help.

Cuttingthegrass · 26/01/2020 08:44

Roast pork and crumble is today’s meal of choice.

I’ve filled the bird feeders with four different feeds and haven’t seen a single bird .... fussy lot on the east coast

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 26/01/2020 08:47

Roast dinner today though no meat as while I am not technically a vegetarian I just don't actually like meat that much. So loads of roast veg and I might make a broccoli and Cauliflower cheese. Dd and I will also bake something. Probs scones as I forgot to get the ingredients for royal icing for the cake we planned. We will do that next week instead.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/01/2020 09:34

Ooh that sounds nice, Wendy

I do quite a decent slow cooked chicken, or so my family tell me (I'm the only vegetarian, where did I go wrong?) but as it's just DH and me today It'll probably be something simpler.

I think we have a cauli though, and loads of Christmas cheese...

Hope everyone's haggis behaved and heads aren't too sore this morning.

TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 10:22

I have been reading Thread 14.

And it is in danger of possibly being deleted (eventually) unless people completely disregard the people who think MM is without blame.

The other thing is - leave it until there is something to discuss. That is only my suggestion but at the moment the argument is going round in circles.

I cannot think of a single thing to say that has not been said before.

In other news, we were woken by the cats yowling at the tops of their unmelodious voices at 06.51 this morning.

Upon investigation, a large tom cat who quite often just stands outside the sitting room window, had arrived to do his thing.

The Mhor cats were not pleased. Cue ludicrously puffed-up tails and hissing.

And DH and I being woken up very much earlier than we had intended.

Has this sleepy Argyll village got its own Thus Cat now?

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 10:29

Yes, myimaginarycat just how much Christmas cheese did you buy?

You are constantly alluding to it. I have visions of an extra fridge being bought for the Fleas house, just to accommodate it.

And in case anyone thinks that's unlikely, my sister did actually insist that they invest in a (third) fridge, just to hold the Christmas food.

Eventually they had an extension built.

Last year it was an Orangery.

TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 10:31

Fuck. That was supposed to say "Thug Cat", obviously. ^

goldierocks · 26/01/2020 10:41

At least your cats had a reason in their own minds to wake you up, Mustress. Mine just wanted me up because she was!

Anyway - at least the laundry is done ahead of schedule. Roast beef for dinner here tonight.

I've been rather sad since taking the decs down. I'm toying with the idea of making a spring/Easter wreath with lots of little felt friends on it. Might start planning it out today, if demanding cat allows me to.

ilovejeffgoldblum · 26/01/2020 10:59

Morning all ! , yes mus I had a look at 14 also, same names same comments.
I don't understand how after saying let it die out , why they would search for the thread to post on it ! . There was no link , do you had to search it out!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 26/01/2020 11:01

Re: thread 14
I’m getting good at scrolling past.
I see the name and my eyes glaze over the post

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 26/01/2020 11:02

I think thread 14 is becoming more balanced and less "demanding" tbh. Hopefully we will continue to post and posters who stopped will feel more comfortable now.

TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 11:10

I can't agree that T14 is more balanced.

I have nothing more to say until something actually happens.

I do truly believe that it would be wiser to let T14 die a death for the moment but obviously return to it if/when something momentous occurs.

They (you know who I mean) are enjoying this. I am suggesting disengagement.

And the trouble is, Curly, that it is supremely difficult not to respond, and we cannot expect absolutely everyone not to do so. It isn't realistic.

It's similar to the difficulty I myself experience when I see bad syntax, or poor SPaG. I have a lot of trouble just sitting on my hands.

I even slept better last night, knowing I was not going to look at MN with a feeling of dread.

I'm so sorry you feel like that Flowers x

TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 11:23

It's okay, WendyMoira - I wasn't looking for sympathy. But it dawned on me that it would only take a few posts from people who disagreed with us, to bring this thread down into misery.

It isn't worth it. Not for me. Bloody hell - I never thought, when I started the first thread, that it would become fourteen.

I actually thought that it would be deleted fairly quickly.

Now then - does anyone want to know if DH managed to produce better fried eggs this morning?

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 26/01/2020 11:31

Well, he didn't.

Even though I specifically discussed it with him last night.

ilovejeffgoldblum · 26/01/2020 11:37

TheMustressMhor bummer, I love a good fried egg! Set white lovely soft yolk , I'd ltb! (Only kidding)

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 26/01/2020 11:40

My favourite breakfast at present is a semi soft boiled egg. Chopped up and piled onto seeded buttered toast with a sprinkling of Maldon Sea Salt. We had pancakes here today though, as we do every Sunday 🥞.
