Thanks all. So a window and low carbs?

I had cut down on sugar massively at the beginning of this year and had lost some weight. Then I got the lurgy and a sweet tooth again.

Cuttingthegrass · 01/02/2020 10:48

I allow myself home made locally sourced whole meal and rye bread every other weekend. It keeps me sane!!

Cuttingthegrass · 01/02/2020 10:51

I meant locally sourced flour. I am making this weekends treat now. Yum.

And tomorrow morning I hope to have runny yolk poached eggs on the toasted bread. DP (usually) ... only a few mishaps... cooks amazing poached eggs the old fashioned way.

Cuttingthegrass · 01/02/2020 11:06

Oh sorry Mhor didn’t mean to make you jealous with my tale of runny yolk delight. I hadn’t seen your update when I posted.

Back to the drawing board and cookery school for your DH or perhaps you will need to take control

My keyboard is jumping and delaying and taking me ages to type anything.

DandyAF · 01/02/2020 11:07

Please do start a thread Mhor but only if we can play MN bingo about the responses you will get.
I think the following should be on the bingo card:

  • Egg puns
  • Arguments about what a perfectly cooked egg and how you do it.
  • A reference to Delia.
  • Several adoring references to Nigel Slayer.
  • “He purposely doesn’t it wrong so that you’ll do it yourself.”
  • “Why don’t you make it yourself?” Complete with Hmm face
  • “You sounds hard work tbh” (I’ve seen this charming response with increasing regularity)
  • “Can you imagine the responses if a man wrote this.”
DandyAF · 01/02/2020 11:08

“He purposely doesn’t it wrong...” I didn’t purposely do that wrong Blush Must must preview.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 01/02/2020 11:15

“You sounds hard work tbh”

Ha ha!

Yes. But Dandy you forgot the classic LTB!!

DandyAF · 01/02/2020 11:29

Oof Catherine how could I forget that?!!!

LaMarschallin · 01/02/2020 12:10

Several adoring references to Nigel Slayer.

Smile

Also somebody going off at a tangent about makes of frying pans;

"Eggs? Are you trying to accelerate climate change?";

Something along the lines of frying eggs being the devil's work and they should only be poached;

He's obviously a narcissist/narc (no idea why but anybody who does something annoying always is).

But Dandy you forgot the classic LTB!!

Tick - VG Smile

DandyAF · 01/02/2020 12:24

Ooh yes the narc angle.

And related to that: “It’s a clear sign of coercive abuse. Is he always this controlling OP?”

Oh oh and another MN classic that’s deliciously puntastic here:

“He’s gaslighting you.”

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/02/2020 12:26

Something along the lines of frying eggs being the devil's work and they should only be poached

I was going to suggest poached BlushGrin

I like poaching eggs but my family prefer them fried. It's very disappointing.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/02/2020 12:28

Don't forget to blame your MIL. It'll be all her fault, somehow.

Cuttingthegrass · 01/02/2020 12:49

Clasps hands and waits for egg thread....all the while procrastinating to avoid deep clean of bathroom

LaMarschallin · 01/02/2020 12:55

I was going to suggest poached blushgrin

Hmm.

That's why you're called "Mischief".

Wink
TheMustressMhor · 01/02/2020 12:57

Ha.

Now I have to think of a suitable clickbait thread title.

Hmmmmmm…………..

TheMustressMhor · 01/02/2020 13:03

IT IS DONE

OP posts:
LaMarschallin · 01/02/2020 13:17

Well, the bingo card's coming along.

And it was said that posters on the infamous "15 threads and counting" were frothing...

TheMustressMhor · 01/02/2020 13:20

I am getting well and truly lambasted.

Although some people are saying that their DHs can't do fried eggs either.

Interesting.

OP posts:
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/02/2020 13:31

  • Am I being unreasonable? Yes you are, mostly.* No I’m not.

Is it too late to add this to the Bingo card?Grin

TheMustressMhor · 01/02/2020 13:44

You sound like hard work seems to be the general feeling of the MN Jury.

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 01/02/2020 13:45

How soon should I flouce?

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 01/02/2020 13:45

Or flounce, even...

OP posts:
DandyAF · 01/02/2020 13:51

Flouce must surely be a French cooking term, non? He should be floucing the eggs.

LaMarschallin · 01/02/2020 13:53

Ooh, not yet...

(This opinion is not based on my enjoyment of said thread, oh no)

If you give it a bit longer you can say you're having the thread closed on the basis of it being outing.
Eg if you mentioned that it's your DH's habit to use his secret, totally outing hobby to get to the robbing very reasonable butcher.

You could flounce dramatically amid cries of "Bloody bicycling again" and only you would know that it's really unicycling.

Or rhythmic gymnastics.

TheMustressMhor · 01/02/2020 13:58

Oh of course.

I need to say he's into cycling.
