Do any of you know if it is better to save with an ISA or an AccessSaver account? (Bank of Scotland)

OP posts:
yolofish · 31/01/2020 15:39

not quite sure mustress. ISAs you cant touch for however long you take them out for but I think you get some govt interest on them. The DDs have both just started the homebuyer ISA.

After DM died I put some money into a high interest a/c which I can access whenever I want but because its with a different bank its clearly identified as 'dont touch'. I went to Money Saving Expert to find what seemed best to me.

DandyAF · 31/01/2020 16:23

yolo I know rite about the 3-5 days to get to HMRC. I’m paying today.

Catherine the winds must have heard us. I can certainly hear them now.

Catherine

I love the dress on the JL site but when I looked for it on the Phase Eight site it came up like this! Looks like a completely different dress...

SunsetBoulevard3 · 31/01/2020 18:48

I'm jealous of your beach yolofish!

7Worfs · 31/01/2020 18:52

While we are talking fashion, I made two radical decisions thanks to the royal fashion thread:

  1. Will not resume colouring my hair when I stop bf-ing. I'll have to style it daily so I don't look like I've given up, but I think it will look good
  1. Will get my colours done
TheMustressMhor · 31/01/2020 18:58

Mr. Mhor is amazed that the thread asking people to calculate the number of slabs needed got (so far) 162 messages.

However - at least I now know that we had too few slabs and I have ordered the correct amount to be delivered.

OP posts:
DandyAF · 31/01/2020 19:39

What if the correct amount? Was I right with 50?

yolofish · 31/01/2020 21:02

Mr. Mhor is worried if he doesnt get the eggs right he will be under the new patio...

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 31/01/2020 23:18

Today I am definitely thriving. We went to IKEA this morning - I know, some people's idea of Hell but ours is quite new and still very nice and civilised. I am planning a refurb of our box room into an "office" so I don't have to keep our vital paperwork in a series of dusty boxes under the bed.

It does mean DH is going to have to find somewhere else to hide when he thinks I have jobs lined up for him. I'm not sure he has twigged yet.

TheMustressMhor · 31/01/2020 23:23

DandyAF

The correct answer has not been determined yet.

The thread continues.

Oh, and someone has made an opprobrious remark to me. The cheek of it.

Onwards and upwards.

It did get a bit blustery green twin dandy! After work I came home (pizza hut! After complaining about weight as wellSad) then went out to the park for a walk around. I love walking around the park in the evening. Quiet and shadowy.

Yolo you are no friend. Both indeed!
Money doesn't grow on trees you know!.

DandyAF · 31/01/2020 23:46

Catherine I love walking around the park at night too, although the one nearest to me is dodgy after a certain hour. I suspect we’re not wandering around the same park, but it would be funny if we were.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 31/01/2020 23:54

Morning trips to Ikea are quite decadent.

I'm not sure what all this DIY activity on the eve of Brexit impliesHmm but I'm suspicious. I suspect Myimaginary and TheMustress are prepping and setting up their secret bunkers, where DH will cook powered egg to survive.

I'm just buying dresses before they're all gone.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 31/01/2020 23:55

Hilarious Dandy. I wonder if you were the woman with the white cap on walking her dog!

I bet we are rather close though!

DandyAF · 31/01/2020 23:58

As long as you’re not the woman feeding the foxes Catherine, we’ll get on fine. Wink

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/02/2020 00:08

An IKEA Brexit bunker. How cosy!
Or do I mean hygge?

Room for all if anyone's interested, bring cake.

DandyAF · 01/02/2020 00:13

Lol at hygge bunker. That’s very millennial mischief*

DandyAF · 01/02/2020 00:18

Speaking of cake, I just saw the loss 7lb thread in Feb in active convos. I am going to join. On Monday.

I need to know more about this 16:8. I know the concept but just not how many days per week you do it. I’m hoping it’s not every... Anyway it’s the weekend so I will be in denial about it until Mon.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/02/2020 00:27

I think the theory is you can eat anything you like between 10 am and 6pm and nothing for the other 16 hours, Dandy. The success of it probably depends on how good a sleeper you are. I would be gnawing the pillow by midnight.

DandyAF · 01/02/2020 00:35

Ha ha Mischief I’m a terrible sleeper. I know of people doing 12-8 and that suits me better but I’d still find the evening hard. I’ve PM’d you about something you posted on another thread btw, wanted your advice and don’t want to go OT here.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 01/02/2020 00:44

No way Dandy, would I be FEEDING foxes! Although I do admit I have put out the odd left over bone from a joint in my garden in deep winterBlush. Which I guess is still feeding but I've literally only done it 3 or 4 times. They love to screech and leave poop in my garden!

Definitely up for hgge bunker with cake!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/02/2020 01:28

Dandy PM'd you Wink

7Worfs · 01/02/2020 08:21

Morning!
Dinner is cooking - sausages and beans in the slow cooker.

16:8 - I started with 14:10, then 15:9 to ease in. It was difficult for a few days, but then it sort of regulates hunger.

My current eating window is 9am to 5pm, because I’m an evening snacker and needed that reined in. I think most people skip breakfast though and do 12-8pm.

I’ve eliminated snacking altogether and eat 3 meals a day, 3-4 hours apart. If I want a treat, I merge it with the meal.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 01/02/2020 09:16

I haven't ddcided what's for dinner today
