No he is not! Must be a daddy thing!

I am happily eating chocolate coins 😊 i know how to live!

BabySharksMummyShark · 30/01/2020 20:28

Ooo 7 thats a good idea! I do need to be accountable.

Is it any diet? Just about losing 7lbs?

7Worfs · 30/01/2020 20:33

It's just a monthly target, everyone does their own thing, but 16:8 is the most popular.
Check out the weight loss board, I think there are a lot of such ongoing support threads, see which one would be a good fit for you and jump in. Smile

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 30/01/2020 21:14

I was good through necessity before xmas as well. Then it went out the window and I now can't be asked.

Cindershasacollie · 30/01/2020 21:26

Im trying an alcohol free year
Im not good at dieting I like chocolate too much especially white chocolate which dh says is not real chocolate

Silly man

yolofish · 30/01/2020 21:59

I dont think I could do an alcohol-free year, possibly not even an alcohol-free week...

I am barely surviving tonight, my beautiful, gorgeous darling black Labby Tammie has eaten something disgusting in the field and is farting like the proverbial trooper. Good job I love her because she is asphyxiating me right now!

What's she eaten Yolo?

Well it's cold. Are the gas explosions warm at least?

yolofish · 30/01/2020 22:35

fuck knows catherine, probably some disgusting bit of something dead dropped by a seagull, but given a choice between breathing or keeping warm I'm working on breathing!! She's snoring now, at least it's coming out of the right end of her...

I am rolling in from my tasting menu. It was very very nice. Lots of little plates of experimental things. Bit stressful at first as DC1 has Asperger’s and although prepared. was a bit overwhelmed by the restaurant and tasting menu concept being A New Thing. They got quite alarmed when they read on the menu that one of the three (Wink) desserts was served with “chocolate soil”. They refused to eat dirt. Bless ‘em. Sometimes I feel I need to automate the phrase “it’s a metaphor, darling” and play it on a loop ... But they did really well and coped with new things even though their attitude to the third dessert, which we had to share between three of us was, “I don’t share” and to immediately grab the plate for themselves.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 31/01/2020 01:25

Bless them Dandy!

Their objection to chocolate soil is very relatable. I find it hard to get past themed cakes - cakes that visually look like people or objects etc. Puts me right off eating

Sounds like it was all lovely. I feel hungry now though.

7Worfs · 31/01/2020 07:33

Morning! Lovely photo of Tammie.

I hope we all thrive today. ☕️ 🍰

BabySharksMummyShark · 31/01/2020 07:56

Morning everyone! I am just surviving today period has hit and co-codamol is not working (yet!)

7 hope you are well! Thanks for the tip i will go an have a nosy, i was on a thread last year and found it really helpful so i think i will try again.

Dandy im glad you had a nice time!

LaMarschallin · 31/01/2020 08:56

Also interested in the "soil".
It seemed very popular on the last Professional Masterchef.

It looked like a sort of chocolatey crumble mixture to me, but I'd love to hear what is like first hand, DandyAF.

GracefulHippo · 31/01/2020 10:04

Morning Everyone, echo that chocolate soil sounds tasty.

I might have a look around those threads as well 7. Might wait until Monday though. Having a night away on Saturday with only Mr Hippo for my birthday. Little Hippos will be sent to grandparents. Very excited, need to find a dress I fit into for a birthday meal Grin

DandyAF · 31/01/2020 10:09

Yes the soil was a chocolate crumble, with fine particles of chocolate then some bigger ‘clumps’ that were very satisfying to bite on. It went with a Jerusalem artichoke ice cream that was very creamy and tasted a bit like a milky bar with an underbite if artichoke. The whole dish purposefully had an earthy feel.

(I don’t eat like this every night btw Grin This was a big treat)

DandyAF · 31/01/2020 10:12

Oh and Catherine that’s interesting and makes sense about you not liking cakes that look like people it objects, it’s the literal association thing.

GracefulHippo · 31/01/2020 10:18

Artichoke ice cream...Ew... Sorry Dandy you lost me there

TheMustressMhor · 31/01/2020 10:19

Hippo as long as the dress is easy for Mr. Hippo to rip off, I wouldn't worry.

Good morning, everyone.

I see that absolutely everyone on this thread considers themselves to be about 4 - 6 stone overweight (apart from LaMarschallin who is strangely silent on the topic).

yolofish you need to ban that dawg for a couple of hours.

I am soooo excited that it is nearly the weekend. I can have two splendid Mr. Mhor cooked breakfasts. Must pop down to the Robbing Butcher for supplies.

Will he get the egg right though?

Morning all.

You know that saying about "there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes"?

I can categorically confirm it is completely untrue. Just been to the beach with the dog. Drizzle. Howling gale whipping the sand up like a sandstorm in the Sahara. Lasted 10 mins and Tammie came home looking like a piece of breaded chicken. Walked round the garden instead where at least it was less windy, and there are snowdrops and primroses out, and things coming into bud.

Ahem Mhor I hadn’t said anything either. But if you’d assumed by me having had three desserts last night that I need to lose 4 stone ... you’d be right Blush

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 31/01/2020 12:41

How near is the beach?

A gale swept beach with roiling waves sounds great to me!

But then I love thunderstorms and windy weather. Was disappointed with the rather pathetic displays we got last year (SE London)

DandyAF · 31/01/2020 12:47

Catherine I’m also a SE Londoner who loves thunderstorms and windy weather! Twinning, as my DC would say.

yolofish · 31/01/2020 13:17

The beach is 30m away... which is lovely, but makes one a bit picky about the weather in which to enjoy it!

7Worfs · 31/01/2020 13:25

It’s raining here too, so instead of taking baby out I stayed in with coffee & biscuits.

Dinner will be salmon, roasted parsnips (baby favourite) and steamed broccoli & carrots.
