What’s everyone doing today New Year’s Day?

We are playing board games

We're watching tv in our pjs and having a roast when we can be bothered to make it!

Going for a walk to pass some time during the most boring day of the year!

We got to bed at 3am, including 8yo so a quiet day today. Dog walk in the beach, maybe BK cos we fed 12 last night and I cannot face cooking again! DS got a robot for Christmas so I think we'll build it together.

Boring??? God I love New Year's Day, everything just slows right down just for today.

Taking my decorations down, cooking a roast, getting work clothes ready for tomorrow (first day back since 20th)

We are having a late breakfast and I am going to watch a film (rarely do this in the day so it's a nice treat)

Dh is likely to do diy. Will make a roast later.

Sleeping and then more sleeping

Got up late but I'm going to go for a short run in a bit , tidy up make a roast watch a film . I've got a few days off I've worked over Christmas so planning a few jobs .

Just about to reheat left over Chinese takeaway. So glad we over ordered! Then DP will be going to catch the train to watch his team play football. I plan to have a snooze on the sofa and take the Christmas tree down. Then have wine and fish and chips (done in the oven) for tea. I'll be in my pyjamas til at least 3pm.

For about the last 8 years we've been ice skating on new years day. It's a really nice tradition! But I'm now 25weeks pregnant so no ice skating for me this year. I'll join them for lunch.

Lazy get up.
Check children survived stag and hen party without coming to blows.
Coastal dog walk with friends. Quick swim in sea.
Supper in tonight.

Laying in bed. I've just come off amitriptyline & the insomnia is dreadful. I managed to get a bit of sleep last night but then DH woke me by accident at about 1am & I've been awake since then. I was just getting sleepy (on the sofa downstairs, so as not to disturb him) when he & DD woke up & came down. I already tried & failed to come off amitriptyline before, because of the insomnia, I'm going to ask the GP for a few sleeping tablets I think.

Guests have departed. Kids playing together happily. Slowly putting the house back together which will be the main theme of the day along with washing.
Today is the first day we haven't had plans since waaay before Christmas. I'm looking forward to a good walk, making some soup, allowing my liver some respite and generally just pottering around.

Going to declutter the fridge of half opened, out of date jars. See what's in the freezer, anything dubious or unlabelled is out and meal plan with food that's left. My New Year's resolution is not to be so food wasteful. Then crafting.

So far today I have unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, done two loads of laundry, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, vacuumed and dusted the living room, made dinner for tonight, walked the dog.

I am still to tackle laundry mountain and sort out some stuff for the charity shop.

I go back to work tomorrow and want to start the year as clean and organised as I can.

It won’t last, but makes me feel better!

Will do food shop on way home then watch a movie most likely.

I agree with dementedma it's the most boring day of the year.

Still in bed. Spent the night with a lovely warm dog on loan to me whilst owners out partying, and I don't want to get up because then I'll have to return him!

No real plans, other than cooking a chilli later. We'll hopefully get out for a walk and maybe do a jigsaw.

Didn't go out last night so feeling fresh and dmug DH gone to football. First time alone since before Christmas. We've been having a Big Tidy which I will finish today. Need to clean kitchen and bathroom - again! Got family coming to stay at weekend so need to change spare bed at some point as back to work tomorrow.

I'm having a lazy day and hope that someone offers to make me a roast dinner as I have done nothing but cook and clean for two weeks! X

DH is playing on the Switch with DSs and I’m in the bath. Then I’ll lay the table and canvas opinion on what people want for lunch (we’re still swimming in leftovers). Post lunch walk I suspect then general laziness.

Youngest crawled in at 6.30 this morning after a night on the tiles, so unlikely to be seen for a while. Eldest has brought us coffee in bed and is pottering around complaining of a hangover. ok

Oh and we'll be taking the tree down later. I'll be sad to see it go; the room always seems so dark without it.

I was working yesterday and on call last night so DH and I are going out drinking today 😆 Just waiting for him to get up and make coffe, sounds like no one else is up yet

First hangover since having my DS 14 months ago. Worth it😏
Might go for a walk, wish I was having a roast. We have spag bol for dinner. Gonna have a nap now that DS is.
