Well at least my attention is on point Grin
I had no idea what to do with the Tower of London Blush

DinosApple · 01/01/2020 18:34

I was a mental rotation whizz, top 10% but completely lacking at understanding verbal analogies 😂. Everything else not too shabby.

Looks like you can have a few goes over time and see if you improve.

I want DH to have a go as he has an amazing capacity for remembering combinations of numbers...

Deathraystare · 01/01/2020 18:47

No! I took one look and thought nope not for me!

I did however play a game with my Godson last night and did very well. Forgot what it is called, I think they got it from M&S - had several things - multiple choise (for some reason I cannot spell that word tonight!!)- fact/fiction, hum a tune, who am I and charades. We had a lot of fun , well we would after violet gin, pink gin, red wine and champers!!!!

buckeejit · 01/01/2020 18:56

That was fun but clicked on a few by accident & went terribly wrong for some reason on the humans to apes questions!

I wonder what else it's testing? Racial bias? The question about tech really made me reflect.

Ilovesausages · 01/01/2020 19:06

Cherrypi I also wondered if it was testing something like racial bias.

Ostanovka · 01/01/2020 19:15

Interesting! I didn't understand the first one with the blocks until right at the end. I was surprised I didn't do better at the one where you had to remember a sequence of numbers, as I have to do something similar at work!

That was quite interesting

Crashed at stage 9 Shock

QuantumEntanglement · 01/01/2020 20:12

Well, it gave me a mental workout and made me feel I haven't entirely wasted NYD slobbing about on the sofa - not entirely. Was pleasantly surprised I did as well as I did - clearly I'm not very good with number sequences or remembering steps in order, I get flustered and panic click. I enjoyed the segments with the blocks and the rotated square patterns.

It's so weird isn't it - really crap mixed with top 5%

Well I wonder if mine is typical of someone with dyspraxia? Spatial stuff and organising has always been an issue for me. I much prefer logic and words.

JHaniver · 01/01/2020 20:59

Top 5% for mental rotation and top 10% for verbal reasoning. Overall did better than I thought, but I was terrible with the attention and emotional parts. I’ve always thought I had no spatial intelligence whatsoever but did okay on that.

I wonder what an expert would make of our results?

MimsyBorogroves · 01/01/2020 21:16

Gaaah, I really want to do this but it's running so slowly and giving me bad gateway. Got half way through and don't know if I can face trying again.

SantiagoSky · 01/01/2020 21:16

Interesting that so many of the posters who shared their results have a high score in mental rotation. Maybe there is a problem with the test because that was the only task didn't seem to become harder over time.

iklboo · 01/01/2020 21:22

I saw the mental rotation one as a logic problem. The others couldn't possibly have been the answer due to the arrangement of the squares / colours.

ZenNudist · 01/01/2020 21:30

Im not going to do this now as am tired after NYE. This is a pointless test as there are many thick people out there who aren't going to touch this

1066vegan · 01/01/2020 21:33

That's how I did the rotation one. I find it almost impossible to mentally rotate shapes and patterns so cheated by seeing which 2 or 3 coloured squares were adjacent in the first pattern and then just looking for that combination in the other patterns.

AwdBovril · 01/01/2020 21:34

Not bad. Not helped by my failure to plan ahead... DD kept coming in as she was resisting going to bed, & there's no "pause" button for the test. I did really badly at the mental rotation round, apparently, although I'm not sure why.

CherryCheezcake · 01/01/2020 21:36

I completed it on my laptop, I think they should tell you not to do it on a phone as I think I was quicker at answering with a bigger screen and a mouse than I would have been on my phone.

buckeejit · 01/01/2020 21:59

@AwdBovril no you didn't - you did well at it - better than most people, just not as excellent as your other areas Smile

marvellousnightforamooncup · 01/01/2020 22:02

I got bored. I'm too tired after NY and I can barely read the instructions on my phone. May try tomorrow.

altiara · 01/01/2020 22:21

I’m not sure I can read it properly on my phone and my fake nails are hitting whatever keys they like. Too tired to care though 😳

Tellingitlikeitisnt · 01/01/2020 23:02

Didn’t almost everyone ace the rotation one (the last one)?
Those type are usually v hard but were definitely easy in this test.

So if the results are based on % how come so many got top 5% for that section.....

Is the % based on those who have actually taken the test so far or what they anticipated the result would be?
