The decade has definitely ended in a more miserable state than what it started sadly. Hoping for better things this year. But as it goes, man plans, god laughs, seems to sum up my life

Finally divorced my abusive dh
Got a degree which led to the job I do now
Saw 2 kids through uni
Met & married my very handsome current dh
Became a foster parent
Its been a decade of change for the better and long may it continue

Moved country five times (3 countries total)

Suffered from depression- getting there now
Found some stuff I'm good at
Grown up from a naive early 2Os to a functioning mid 30s adult.

Started decade with DD on dialysis, now healthy.
Became a single parent, a positive move on my part.
Got my own place to live.
Lost my dad and two aunts.
Developed diabetes out of the blue in my 30s.
Made the move back into education to do something I am passionate about and can become self employed when I'm finished.
Got a kitten to join my existing cat.

I know it sounds miserable writing it like that but loads of positives too.

Lost me mom and dad in under a year of each other. Also my Nan, gran, uncle and dog and 4 hamsters.

Passed me driving test
Did an online course
Saw red-hot chili peppers
Been abroad
Moved house
Quit job to become stay at home mom.
Saw a few members of me Canadian family
Brought a car and got rid of it 3 months later because it was crap.
Saw my daughter take her first steps.

I can't think of much else that is big really

Not much good, that making about it . In my mid 50d now so maybe it is mostly downhill from now on?

The next decade brings our silver wedding, I can’t believe we’ve been together that long

6 weeks into the new decade what I thought was the love of my life ended it. Never met anyone else after never not having a relationship of some sort. I'm cool with that though

On the whole it was an ok decade

Got out of an emotionally abusive relationship

Found the real me again

Son dangerously ill, but now on an even keel

Lost my idol
Lost a lot of weight

Gained tonnes of confidence
Met lots of new people through hobby
Stayed single by choice
Seen illness change lives and now appreciate that I never understood how debilitating a stroke victim can be
Seen strength in my sister
Seen selfishness in my other sister although she could have good reason for that
Met a lot of famous people I never thought would ever be possible

We have had 3 weddings and a funeral (my very elderly mother). We became grandparents and now have 6 going on 7. DH retired. We both have health issues which were already diagnosed 10 years ago but are slowly worsening. 2 members of the family survived sepsis. We have no more students and all the DC are just about financially independent (all in their 30s).

Became an Auntie

Had 2 cats who both sadly died before they were 6.
Welcomed another kitten 3 months ago
Met my current partner who hid his alcoholism well but he's been sober 4 1/2 years now.
