Two children started at secondary school.

It's been hard, far too hard at times, and the 20's I fear won't be much better.

Started a career in the travel industry which has taken me all over the world, worked and lived abroad for durations, moved back to my home town, met my now husband, bought a house, got married and had a baby girl :) passed my driving test which I never thought would be possible! Graduated from university.

Had 3 dc, had a miscarriage, survived sepsis and my dad died. Those were the big things. Lots of little things too, so many happy times with the dc at the park or on the river. I've gained weight (must lose that in 2020).

Attended too many funerals for family and friends.
Celebrated ten more wedding anniversaries with my lovely Dh. He's not perfect, but neither am I and somehow, despite certain people's assertions, our marriage has lasted and continues to be happy.
Seen dc1 finish university and both dcs begin rewarding and successful careers.
Seen both dcs settled and happy with their partners and in their own homes.
Became a grandparent - the best thing ever.

It’s been a hard decade for my family ..

DD1 - Several suicide attempts and diagnosed with eating disorder and depression

DD2 - diagnosed with a chronic illness aged 12 that has now been 6 years so has taken all her teen years and shows no sign of improving

Me - PTSD from the trauma of the above alongside anxiety

Both my parents health is declining so facing some difficult years ahead

Just hoping I can find the strength to deal with everything coming my way -
It’s just so difficult and exhausting

There has been some highlights - my DD1 graduated with a first class degree despite everything she has been through

Oh and I gained cats - Lots of them always a postive

I've gotten married, had 2 children, trained for a career and hated it, found a career I enjoy and am good at, moved house, fallen in love with someone else, fallen in love with my husband again and built our marriage to be stronger than ever before.

10 years ago I was pregnant with DC2, while DC1 was 7 months old.

In the last ten years I have had 3 births, graduated from university, 1 miscarriage, quit my job to be a SAHM, set up my own part time business as being a SAHM wasn't quite for me, #1was diagnosed as ASD, ran my business and family life around said therapy, and in the last 6 months, returned full time to teaching, gifted my business to a friend and have started another degree.

And two days ago we celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary.

Am excited to see what the next decade brings!

Gained a son in law and 2 granddaughters, lost my Dad, stayed in job for longest ever time , lost a dog and gained a dog, watched both daughters graduate.

Feels like most of the last decade has been spent just raising DC. And three of my loveliest reatives died:M-i-L, favorite uncle and far too young, my lovely S-i-L
But some good things happened. Published a book, had some interesting and unexpected career developments, visited some wonderful countries. But overall, I'm looking forward to the next decae and getting my life back now DC are grown.
