1 day after flu jab I had aching joints/feeling shivery, swollen glands but not a sore throat.

A day of feeling creaky, bruised and flu-ey, which is what I always get. Fuckloads better than flu, that wipes me out for three weeks solid.

fcukelenh · 20/12/2019 23:26

A sore arm and a bruise but the year before was awful.

Another me and none!

I had my lymph nodes swell and they thought I had cancer.

buckeejit · 20/12/2019 23:37

Had it a few years ago & fine. Children & parents have it fine but local man lost feeling in his hand & hasn't worked for last 3 weeks

AwdBovril · 20/12/2019 23:38

I had no side effects this year, & barely any soreness either. Most years I've had at least a bit of a sore patch, sometimes my entire arm has been sore, & a couple of years I felt distinctly unwell for a day or so afterwards.

I had flu, many years ago, that I'm sure of. Could barely crawl to the bathroom for about a week - not that I had any appetite to eat or drink anything, & felt thoroughly crap for about another month. I lost masses of weight, & breathing was frighteningly painful & difficult at times (I'm asthmatic). Anyone who can have the vaccination, & refuses it, is daft IMO.

None at all

Oliversmumsarmy · 21/12/2019 00:11

It's good to see this thread and I hope it helps dispell the myth that everyone feels crap after their flu jab, to the point that it's not worth having

Not everyone.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 21/12/2019 00:13

My son and I both had it.
No side effects. I forgot that I had taken it until I found the bandaid on my arm.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 21/12/2019 00:13

I've had mine no side effects

ShristmasChopper · 21/12/2019 00:14

Sore arm the next day. Only lasted 1 day.
Nothing else to report.

CrocodilesCry · 21/12/2019 00:27

Sore arm for a couple of days - a little more sore than usual but nothing else.

Neome · 21/12/2019 00:32

No side effects x every year I have had it.

I have noticed that the flu jab doesn't necessarily make me immune to the odd mild cold.

RB68 · 21/12/2019 00:34

sore arm - no side effects - very glad I had it friends daughter ended up in hospital for several days while they confirmed was flu not meningitis

SpoonBlender · 21/12/2019 00:56

@Neome That's right, flu and colds are very different bugs. If only there was a common cold vaccine... but the common cold is actually a constallation of hundreds of similar viruses.

reginafelangee · 21/12/2019 00:58

I had a mildly sore arm.

scousadelic · 21/12/2019 01:00

I have it every year, some years I get a sore arm, this year I didn't

anxioussue · 21/12/2019 01:18

Never had side effects before but we all had muscle cramps in our legs for 24 hours

FreckledLeopard · 21/12/2019 01:20

I had it about a month or so ago. Absolutely no side effects whatsoever. Not even a sore arm.

trixiebelden77 · 21/12/2019 06:03

I had it for our flu season as I do every year.

Side effects were the same as previous: mildly sore arm, and I didn’t die from the flu on ECMO in ICU.

Of course I knew I was receiving a vaccine that wasn’t live, so if I had experienced any respiratory infection symptoms I would have had the sense to know they were of course unrelated to the flu jab.

JellyfishandShells · 21/12/2019 06:13

No side effects

anxioussue · 21/12/2019 06:18

The nasal spray is live, does that have more side effects ?

happypotamus · 21/12/2019 06:21

A slightly sore arm. That's all. It wasn't as bad as the sore arm I have got on previous years. DC both had nasal spray and didn't appear to suffer any side effects either.

ChasingRainbows19 · 21/12/2019 06:23

Sore arm. It's more likely you were incubating germs at the same time and nothing to do with the jab. I work in the NHS and flu is already bad this year in my area and has been for a good few weeks so if you can have it I'd have it!

SallyWD · 21/12/2019 06:25

I had it in early November. No side effects at all. My arm was a bit sore for about 2 days.
