1 day after flu jab I had aching joints/feeling shivery, swollen glands but not a sore throat.

AntennaReborn · 20/12/2019 22:49

I have it every year and never had any side effects

Utini · 20/12/2019 22:51

A bit tired and achy for a couple of days, very slight fever, and an awful headache the day after that felt different to my usual migraines. Had exactly the same reaction the only other time I had the jab, so I do think it's a reaction to it.

Can't quite decide whether it's worth suffering that every year to prevent a case of flu maybe every 10 years.

WarmthAndDepth · 20/12/2019 22:53

I always get ill after the kids at my school have their nasal flu vaccine. Without a fail, every year.

Me - but achy in first 24hrs but nothing else to write home about.

whiteroseredrose · 20/12/2019 22:55

Me. No side effects (apart from a sore arm!)

SubordinateThatClause · 20/12/2019 22:55

Butt was fine - I was a *bit achy!

Tulipvase · 20/12/2019 23:04

My arm was sore and the glands under my arm and around my collar bone were enlarged and painful. Appears to have happened to others, as I googled it.

ChocChipWookie · 20/12/2019 23:07

Had it yesterday. My arm aches today and ive felt tired and a bit meh all day.

alexdgr8 · 20/12/2019 23:10

I have the flu jab every year, for over 10 yrs, no side effects.
think more people should have it, and certainly all health workers unless a good reason not to.

MegGriffin · 20/12/2019 23:10

Means none.

Xmasbaby11 · 20/12/2019 23:11

I've had it every year for 10 years. Never had any side effects.

Oliversmumsarmy · 20/12/2019 23:14

Had it twice. In bed with flu like symptoms both times.

Don’t bother now as it made me so ill.

cuddlymunchkin · 20/12/2019 23:14

I had it for the first time this year, no side effects at all.

cailinvelo · 20/12/2019 23:15

No side effects ... but I caught Flu a month later and was hospitalised. Great craic.

MaJoady · 20/12/2019 23:15

None!

It's good to see this thread and I hope it helps dispell the myth that everyone feels crap after their flu jab, to the point that it's not worth having

nocoolnamesleft · 20/12/2019 23:15

Slightly sore arm.

BillyAndTheSillies · 20/12/2019 23:16

I was quite poorly and came on two days after the flu jab. Not sure whether it's connected or absolute coincidence but I was floored for a few days. Absolutely fine now, and for once don't seem to be coming down with anything for Christmas!

toodlethenoodle · 20/12/2019 23:17

I got mine.

Absolutely no side effects whatsoever.

Heatingson · 20/12/2019 23:18

Arm was a little bit sore. Other than that I have never had any side effects and I have been having it for donkeys.

AnyFucker · 20/12/2019 23:19

I had mine in October or November and for the 1st time ever I felt ill within a couple of hours....achey joints, loss of appetite, nauseous, fatigued

It lasted 24 hours then I was fine. Since then, my H has had what I think is flu, I have had contact with loads of folk with confirmed flu and < touch wood> I have remained fine

Sparklybaublefest · 20/12/2019 23:20

Nothing at all

ByAppointmentTo · 20/12/2019 23:21

Slightly sore arm for a day. No other side effects.

AhoyMrBeaver · 20/12/2019 23:22

My arm was tender and ached for a fair few days this year, but I didn't feel at all unwell.

The only time I've felt ill after was the year I had the pneumonia jab at the same time. I felt pretty rough that night.

Sauvignonblanket · 20/12/2019 23:24

Me too! Sore arm but nothing else...

pinkkoala · 20/12/2019 23:24

I have had it last 3 years as health worker and the thing i noticed this year was my shoulder, collarbone area was stiff and painful, only for the rest of the day after i had the jab.
My dad has flu jab every year and this year, just last week spent week in hospital with flu, it knocked him for 6, he kept falling over, his temp was high, very weak, dehydrated we were going in with gloves, aprons and masks for a week. Maybe that strain wasn't in the jab,
