1 day after flu jab I had aching joints/feeling shivery, swollen glands but not a sore throat.

If anyone had poked my arm in the next 24 hours it would have hurt. But they didn't. So that's zero side effects I think.

And I'll add my voices to those saying that the "£50 note on the doorstep" test is misleading and unhelpful. It's perfectly possible to be incubating flu virus and spreading it everywhere while feeling "not too bad" yourself. That's why it's important for everyone who can get the flu jab to get it,to protect those who are vulnerable and those who can't get it.

Me and I had no side effects whatsoever. Neither did my husband or 2 kids

I had an unreasonably sore arm and a "hot" bruise this time. Really sore! But otherwise ok I think.

Last year - zero.
This year - very slight swelling on arm the next morning, gone after 24 hours.

I've had it a couple of times. This year my arm was a bit sore. That's it.

Pegase · 21/12/2019 14:21

Sore arm. Nothing else

CaptainMyCaptain · 21/12/2019 14:23

I was told by the nurse that if there was going to be a reaction it would happen the second time I had it not the first. This explains pp who have said they got nothing last year but a mild reaction this time.

PineappleDanish · 21/12/2019 14:24

Had it in October. Very very mild sore arm that evening. Hardly worth taking paracetamol for.

The nasal one is live but unless you are immuno-compromised and in the room when it's given then you should have problems with it (and in this case you may need to get somebody else to be with your kid when they get it - or they should get the injection but this is slightly less effective) some kids get a bit of a runny nose which seems to be the main side effect but in the season of kiddy runny noses I'm not sure how much it cause or coincidence.
