What’s the FIRST thing you would buy if you won the lottery

Feel free to be as shallow as possible. Forbidden choices include: paying off your mortgage, going on holiday or charitable donations. You know, all the stuff we’d all actually do with a lottery win Grin

Mine would be to buy a really bloody nice handbag (never had one).

(Then of course I’d move on to the boring but important stuff).

give half to my son then half for my partner and me and buy an awesome house with a garden by the water

HeatedDryer · 02/11/2019 23:05

My own personal interior designer to sort my bloody house out

MissMarks · 02/11/2019 23:06

I would renovate the old house I currently live in to exactly how we would love to have it, get the garden sorted and maybe buy a wee apartment by the sea in our favourite seaside place.

LonginesPrime · 02/11/2019 23:07

The new Lego gingerbread house

Shock Why is it so expensive? I was thinking £40 when I saw it!

I'd hire a personal trainer to come round daily.

LonginesPrime · 02/11/2019 23:08

Ooh, and a boat!

AnneLovesGilbert · 02/11/2019 23:08

The biggest jellycat soft toys money can buy. It’s a deal I’ve already made with my step children!

Bentley for DH.
A car with longer seat belts for me, central locking and a better aerial - don’t car what type it is.
Diamonds. Fuck loads of very sparkly diamonds.
All of the Sylvanians for baby DD for when she’s older.

Froggledoggleoggle · 02/11/2019 23:08

A bottle of Dr Pepper

TheAnnoyingSatsuma · 02/11/2019 23:10

I’d book a luxury holiday leaving immediately, to ponder on my amazing luck and decide what to do next.

Rockbird · 02/11/2019 23:11

We'd go out for breakfast. Then I'd go and get a new car as my one is buggered.

Grafittiqueen · 02/11/2019 23:11

A Wimbledon debenture

TheAnnoyingSatsuma · 02/11/2019 23:14

Can I add that I’d take only the essentials and shop for my holiday wardrobe at the airport.

Cloverbeauty · 02/11/2019 23:20

Another horse. Grin and a horsebox, a really big, over the top expensive one that is basically a house on wheels. Probably couldn't drive the damn thing, but it would be awesome to have.

Oh and also tons of clothes, a new car, brand new furniture for the house (I would actually keep my house as I love it).

OhamIreally · 02/11/2019 23:23

I can't believe you've banned us from holidays OP!
I always said I'd charter a plane and take all my friends to Barbados where I would relax and decide next steps.

Takingabreakagain · 02/11/2019 23:25

I'd buy a really big motorhome, like the Winnebago in Meet the Parents, and travel all over the UK seeing places I've wanted to visit but have not had the chance. Then I'd pop over to Europe and travel some more....

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 02/11/2019 23:26

A single malt bottled in the year of my birth. Just because.

Wizzbangpop · 02/11/2019 23:26

It also depends how much. I've got a just a above mw job so if it was substantial enough I'd jack that in and just figure out next step. So not spending as such more lifestyle change

abitoflight · 02/11/2019 23:29

I'd rent a house nearby to live in whilst my current home having all the jobs done on it that it needs.

NotStayingIn · 02/11/2019 23:29

I would ring in sick at work and check into the poshest poshest poshest hotel in London (where I live). I would live it up of course but I think I would mainly need a few days to regroup and plan. And what fun that planning would be!

CrazySnakeLady · 02/11/2019 23:37

Probably a nice meal and drinks for my family to celebrate. Then I'd pay off all my debts, that would be a huge relief. Buy a big house with a few acres and no annoying neighbours, and employ a housekeeper and gardener because I'm shit at keeping on top of anything. I'd pay someone to move house for me while I take the kids on an amazing holiday because moving house is utter hell. And then new clothes, private counselling and regular massages.

blaaake · 02/11/2019 23:38

I'd buy a private jet and use it at least twice a month whilst donating money to the environment to offset my damage

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 02/11/2019 23:41

A pair of black 14 hole platform Doc Marten boots and a bottle of expensive champagne.

RagingBall · 02/11/2019 23:43

I would buy a flat looking onto the beach, book expensive holidays, a personal trainer, more activities for the kids & lots of lush products

DonPablo · 02/11/2019 23:44

A decent car.

A fablou purse to match my bags

Boots. All the size 43 and 44 womens shoes in the land. Sorry, fellow sufferers.

Scrap the other 2. Just the shoes. All the shoes.

NeverTwerkNaked · 02/11/2019 23:46

A bloody good barrister or a hitman to put a stop to the endless bullying from my ex.

And a really beautiful and glittery outfit for my 5 year old daughter who is just absolutely obsessed with all things glamorous and has an eyewsteront collection of (plastic ) tiaras.

minipie · 02/11/2019 23:49

Personal trainer —and if I’m honest some top notch plastic surgery—.

Also would ask DH to resign so I actually get to see him in daylight.
