What’s the FIRST thing you would buy if you won the lottery

Feel free to be as shallow as possible. Forbidden choices include: paying off your mortgage, going on holiday or charitable donations. You know, all the stuff we’d all actually do with a lottery win Grin

Mine would be to buy a really bloody nice handbag (never had one).

(Then of course I’d move on to the boring but important stuff).

Straight to a fabulous antiques dealer that I love to visit, he specialises in antique jewellery and gems. I’ll be picking up my 2ct diamond ring and while I am there I might buy a bracelet as well. Oh hell, earrings too.

Not finished, that will be followed by afternoon tea in the nicest hotel in the land - in my view.

I’ll then head to the car showrooms for my new car.

After than I will get a little more practical, I’ll book a garden landscaper and choose new windows.

I can’t wait!

marvellousnightforamooncup · 03/11/2019 10:20

A Tesla.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 03/11/2019 10:21

I'd go on a massive shoe shop. All sorts of styles in all the colours I wanted instead of trying to decide which colour of boots or whatever would go with my wardrobe.

Also, ditto for coats and jackets.

Then obviously I'd need a new house with more wardrobe space. Ideally a decent sized walk in wardrobe.

Thebookswereherfriends · 03/11/2019 10:23

I would pay for a de clutter company to come and help me sort my shit and then a cleaning company to do a blitz. My house is not terrible, but it just bugs me in a daily basis and I hate cleaning.

YourOpinionIsNoted · 03/11/2019 10:32

A whole new wardrobe. I don't actually care that much about clothes but I always feel fat and frumpy and about as far away from 'put together' as possible. So, new clothes (someone else can go off with my measurements and find them so I don't have to do the shopping bit) so that I can then be less self conscious. Then a first class flight to New York, stay in a suite in a v expensive hotel with dh for a few days. Buy diamonds at Tiffany's.

Fantababy · 03/11/2019 10:35

A new phone. I've never had a new phone as I'm not that bothered and so just get second hand or DH's cast offs but it would be nice to have a new, top of the range phone for once.

NachoFries · 03/11/2019 10:36

Depends how much I suppose.

  • I’d love to buy a house for my parents.
  • A few flats for investment purposes.

More frivolous expenditure:

  • A personal chef
  • A personal stylist
  • A professional organizer so that they can Marie Kondo my life lol
cookiemonster5 · 03/11/2019 10:37

Personal trainer and chef then a boob job. Private dermatologist for my middle child.

madcatladyforever · 03/11/2019 10:39

I would buy a hermitage in the country miles from anyone and make it like fort knox Grin Probably by the sea somewhere and I'd give up work immediately without giving any notice in.
I'd give half the money to my DS and DiL.

SorbetK6 · 03/11/2019 10:58

I'd book a trip to London.
First class train ticket, posh hotel, see a show and do some serious shopping.

JulietakaIris · 03/11/2019 11:01

I'd move straight to an amazing luxury hotel for a few nights while we decided what to do. Take my kids to Hamley's and let them have free rein. Book a holiday on the gulf coast of Florida and Florida there to work everything out.

Imreallytrying · 03/11/2019 11:03

A nanny

ooooohbetty · 03/11/2019 11:08

First thing I would do, even before the cheque cleared would be to go into town on a massive shopping spree using my credit card. I'd buy the designer clothes and shoes I look at but would never buy. I'd buy loads of expensive knickers. I'd buy trainers. I'd just like to go shopping without looking at price tags. Oh, I'd also do a weeks food shopping in M&S and I'd get a taxi home.

Verily1 · 03/11/2019 11:13

I’d go to Sainsbury’s and put all the high end fancy food items I usually forgo in 2 full trollies. Nice liquors, party food, big roasts, cheeses, good toiletries, anything me or the dcs wanted really- I’d give them a trolly each and set then free!

Cherrysoup · 03/11/2019 11:15

A new horse. Mine is broken. 😢 There was a fabulous horse for sale which I think I would’ve bought recently but I daren’t ask my DH if it’s ok to spend £6k on a horse when I already have one!

Fishcakey · 03/11/2019 11:18

I'd probably go straight to Tesco and fill up the wine rack and then find a really big Boots and replace all my shit makeup. Then I'd get on Right Move and find me a fuck off huge detached house in a field away from everyone!

HeronLanyon · 03/11/2019 11:20

ooohbetty great idea. Add in paying someone to carry bags and organise the taxi. You may need a shuttle bus to bus everything back ! Grin

pinkmagic1 · 03/11/2019 11:22

A horse and one for my mum too, along with land and stables to keep them. I part loan one at the moment but would really love one of my own.

Disfordarkchocolate · 03/11/2019 11:26

We need to pop to Waitrose this afternoon for son dark chocolate chips and chunks. I may add a very nice bottle of champagne. A bit dull really but I'd very much enjoy fantasy house shopping while I got tipsy and planned how much to give my children.

nmc99 · 03/11/2019 11:28

The drunk elephant beauty fridge!

Ariela · 03/11/2019 11:28

I'd buy a smallest Tesla for me - followed on on Friday, it looked lush.
For OH I'd buy a BIG BIG shed for him to put all his crap in. Think big barn and double the size. We'd also have to buy some land from the farmer behind to put it on.
For daughter I'd buy her an Oakley Supreme horsebox lorry, and paint it midnight purple with silver stars.

Verily1 · 03/11/2019 11:29

Yeah and move into a spa hotel!

CupanTaeiSiochain · 03/11/2019 11:31

A gorgeous brand new house. I wouldnt even bother to sell my old one. So id just want to turn the key in the front door of new house and then buy some art. Get the garden landscaped done. Hire a gardener. Do a stained glass window course. Do a pottery course. A silversmith course. Resign (??) Do a degree. Maybe.

Buy a new handbag. In new york. Yeh! go to new york with my daughter.

Verily1 · 03/11/2019 11:36
