Suspected infection, unsure where.

Rang 999 after he was hard to wake and sensitive to light this afternoon. Blue lights came, temp of 39.5, low oxygen. Ambulance to hospital with oxygen mask etc.
Poor dh forgot the formula and bottle so has to drive home again to get it. He was just stressed and feels bad now.
We are awaiting assessment in emergency dept, DS is drifting in and out.
Anyone about for a handhold? I'm scared

You’re in the right place. Make notes of what the drs say do you don’t forget. Remember to look after yourself too - drink/eat etc.

SummerHouse · 19/09/2019 19:08

Sorry you are going through this. You acted quickly and you are in the right place. No wonder you (DH) forgot a bottle. It's so stressful when they are ill. I bet he will be fine. It's one of those parenting tests that just remind you how lucky you are and how precious they are. God flowers are not enough but have some Flowers along with all the positive thought power that MN can muster.

minesapinkgin · 19/09/2019 19:08

Agree you're in the next place but if you don't feel satisfied with what they are saying trust your gut.

Hope all is well soon Thanks

TateWorm · 19/09/2019 19:09

So sorry, I hit post instead of the return button.

Hoping for a full and speedy recovery. Look after yourself too.

Thegracefuloctopus · 19/09/2019 19:09

Thank you. He's just coughed/socked up the grossest lump. I've gone to the nurses station and said he seems worse, getting hotter and drowsier but no one has come yet.

How long have you been waiting?? It’s crazy that you went in an ambulance but haven’t been seen Shock. Can you cause more of fuss?

dudsville · 19/09/2019 19:12

I've got no words. I'm there with you.

Schuyler · 19/09/2019 19:12

If you feel he’s getting worse, keep badgering the nurses. I know they’re busy and maybe understaffed but it’s ok to push gently when you’re concerned.

I hope your little one will be ok after some treatment. Flowers

Hi OP, you're in the right place and I really hope everything is okay for your little family. Two of my friends babies have had health issues where they've been in hospital for a couple days with a drip and all but they recovered well and are fine happy bubbas. Keep calm as hard as it may be. Sending you all the best wishes ThanksThanks

Flamingo84 · 19/09/2019 19:14

Thinking of you OP. Hope your DS gets seen soon Flowers

Hand hold here. It happened to me in France with a 4 month old (2.5 months corrected age). She looked so ill it was terrifying. Babies go downhill so quickly. Hers was just a virus in the end but she gave me the fright of my life. Did the listless, hard to wake, not feeding, dry nappy, temperature sky high routine. That is a day that I never want to live through again. I can't believe that you are having to wait to be seen. That's not good but at least you are in the right place.

Thinking of you. We were blue lighted in with my 12 month old after he had a febrile convulsion. It was truly awful and I thought I'd lost him, I never knew febrile convulsions were even a thing.

Hugs to you. Keep us updated.

Flowers Sending healing vibes. You must be beside yourself. You did the right thing getting him in so quickly. Don’t be afraid to be a nuisance if he isn’t seen ASAP.
