Do you remember the exact date you first got together with your OH?

Just that really. I remind DH every year we got together on this day how many years ago and he just rolls his eyes now.

Anyone else have the exact date you got together etched in your mind?

Coincidentally DS was born the day before our first date anniversary. I was hoping he'd come on the day itself.

Our first date was 15 June 2011, still have the vue cinema ticket stub Smile

Neither of us forget as DC1 was born on the exact date 3 years later.

It was love at first sight across a smoky London nightclub. I wrote my number in red lipstick on the back of a fag packet classy and the rest is history, almost 26 years later!

Met on the 15th ish, he asked me out on the 26th and first date was on the 1st of the following morning month.

We count the 26th as our anniversary as we met by me moving into a shared house he was already in so we spent a lot of time together in the week between him asking me out and our first official date, in fact we'd slept in the same bed more than once before our first date. He had promised to be a perfect gentleman though, and he was!

Now coming up to 9 years together and 4th wedding anniversary.

First date was 21 December, he took me to a party at someone’s house, turned out to be the home of a girl I had been at school with, then he went away for 10 days to visit family. I don’t remember where we went upon his return.
Before our first date we had been checking each other out for a few months on the bus we both used!
This was over 30 yrs ago!

Frangipane · 08/09/2019 17:11

Yes, because I met him on the first day of a holiday. So it was the 18th August. We were together for the 2 weeks of that holiday, until 1st September. I wrote to him on the 4th (it was a long time ago!), he received the letter with my phone number on the 5th and rang me up that evening, our first date was the 8th, been together many decades ever since.

Bobobobobob · 08/09/2019 17:11

We do now. We had thought it was a day earlier but I googled the date. We still have a date night to celebrate but on the wrong date.

jackparlabane · 08/09/2019 17:18

It was 11 Feb, because three days later was Valentine's Day when the play I was working on opened. (it was a very dark novel piece and got an audience of six that night...) I was working until about 1am at the theatre and he brought me a Chinese takeaway around midnight.

Which was a good indication that he didn't want the previous weekend to be a one-night stand. After another six months or so we conceded it might be a relationship.

12th July 1972. We met at work. Married 15th Sept 1973, still hanging in there

mcmen05 · 08/09/2019 17:34

Mine is actually today the 8 Sept 19 years ago but dh hasn't a clue and I'm not going to remind him because I'm on menopause and he would be thinking it was an invitation and I just want peace Smile

SpaceCadet4000 · 08/09/2019 17:39

Gamorasgran · 08/09/2019 18:37

Yes in as much as the day we stopped being just mates. The date of the office Christmas do - classy eh

thefirstmrsdewinter · 08/09/2019 18:41

We got married on the date we met (six years later) but dh remembers the date of the first email (OLD).

wonkylegs · 08/09/2019 18:43

Yep but it was a Christmas party and we saw each other everyday for the following 6months except for 3 days over Christmas so it was easy to remember even though this December will mark 19years together (married 13)

MarySibleysFamiliar · 08/09/2019 18:48

Both DH and I remember. We met on the 14th of May 15 years ago. We began dating from that day and considered it our anniversary. When we decided to get married we went for the closest Saturday to the 14th, 10 years after meeting (or we would have had to wait another 4 years to have our wedding on that date and a Saturday. So now both dates are celebrated.

Thegreymethod · 08/09/2019 19:29

Yes but we've been together 20 years and only got married this summer so it was our only anniversary, we don't celebrate it though I just usually say wow X amount of years! Our nephew was born on the date we met but 5 years later so that helps!

YouJustDoYou · 08/09/2019 19:34

Yes, precise date and time. We started dating 7.20pm the next day and have been together almost 20 years now.

Flowersmakemyday · 08/09/2019 19:47

Yes, we are re-creating our first date next Tuesday - 30 years after the event!

GnomeoNameo · 08/09/2019 19:52

I remember the first time I met/spoke to my OH - at uni over breakfast in college dining hall - I wished a friend happy birthday over the breakfast table and my OH-to-be who was sat just opposite said "oh, it's my birthday today too".
We were friends from that point on, and started dating 5 months later (I remember the exact date). We then got engaged 13 months later, married a year after that, and have been married over 30 years now.
