Have you ever noticed a blip in the matrix?

When I was at university we were driving through and unfamiliar part of town. We noticed a school child running and then when he stopped another child further along the road started. This then happened again with a third child. They were in school uniforms, not sports kits and they didn’t seem to interact with each other. My friend noticed it too and at the time we couldn’t stop laughing. Has anyone else got any stories similar? Blips in the matrix.

I do know on MN story about someone seeing their older selves and then their younger selves outside their childhood home!

I am baffled by the lost time. If you had fainted seizure someone would have noticed and dealt with it. Truly woo

CameraTime · 30/08/2019 10:04

I once had an appointment which lasted about 20 minutes. As I drove there, the radio started playing a particular song which I liked. It wasn't a particularly modern song, so I was a little surprised to hear it on the station I was listening to (which tended to play current hits). I reached the appointment, parked and got out of the car before the end of the song. It was stuck in my head throughout the appointment.

Afterwards, got into the car to go home, and the radio was playing the same song! It was a bit odd for them to play that song at all, let alone twice in the space of half an hour!

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends I always see 12:34, and also 15:51

Mt dd reckons the first one is because I'm always gagging for some lunch by that time Grin

BrokenTelly · 30/08/2019 10:27

@BooksAreMyOnlyFriends

That's My thing! I can just say 11:11 and then look at the clock and it will be that time, too. 😊
And I was working with another girl for a couple of years who I told and she then started doing it...

HeavyLoad · 30/08/2019 10:28

@BooksAreMyOnlyFriends i have this too. i looked it up and it said about it being an angel number, meaning an angel was near/looking over you when you see repeasted numbers, especially 1s.

It's a nice thought but probably more likely we just notice that number more because it is more memorable than say 11.27

QuestionableMouse · 30/08/2019 10:38

I have a lost time one. I posted it on here ages ago but was basically called a liar so have been holding back from posting it again.

I worked at a retail park that was just down the motorway from home. Took twenty minutes or so to get there, nowhere to stop and no traffic lights or such. You went on at one junction, drove for five miles then came off. My house was in a little village that was just off the road.

I left work at 5pm (verified by my clock out time). I drove home as usual, had music on and noticed nothing amiss.

It was 8pm when I arrived home. I didn't take a different route or stop or anything and there was no bad traffic. I've never been able to explain that. My partner was frantic because he'd been ringing me and my phone had been ringing out. I checked later and had no missed calls.

Ugh it gives me the creeps thinking about it!

HopefulFor2020 · 30/08/2019 11:14

@BooksAreMyOnlyFriends I'm the same with 11:11. If you google it it does have some weird spiritual/woo meaning but I think it's mostly just because I now know that that it's the only time that I think twice about. Although I do have it with 17:17 to a lesser extent. You said it started around age 12, it wasn't 11 and 11 months was it? That'd be spooky!

AVL · 30/08/2019 11:15

This happened when I was a teenager, probably late 80's. I was watching tv, I was the only one in the room at the time. A news report came on and it interrupted whatever was on. It said it was from the future. I thought it was odd but interesting. I wasn't scared. As it was so long ago I can't remember what was said unfortunately. I mentioned it to others the next day and since and no one else saw it or remembers it. Really weird.

AVL · 30/08/2019 11:21

Just remembered another one. Again must have been a teenager. I was at home asleep in the room I shared with my sister when I woke up in the night. The room was really bright with a bright light coming from the window, although I didn't turn round to look. There was also a strange humming like sound. I just stayed still in my bed and didn't move. This happened twice. Don't know what it was but I was sacred. I don't live there anymore but no one else mentioned it.

tirednhungry247 · 30/08/2019 11:24

Another weird thing happened to me a few years ago, at the same subway I mentioned earlier.
It was kind of spiritual but also time lapse-ey

I'd bumped into a friend i haven't seen in a long time in the pub that I used the knock around with when we were kids (age 10-11 or so) we were both early 20s now but I was still at home with Mam and Dad

Anyway, I'd mentioned to old friend in pub that I'd seen her grandad a few days earlier walking back from the shop - through the subway with a paper and a dark blue shopping bag, like he did most mornings. He gave me a nod and I just said good morning and that was that.

She gave me a stern look and put her drink down and went out the back of the pub. I just stood there confused then followed her outside. She just said, "are you taking the piss?" To which I answered "No?! Why would I be."

Her grandad had died 4/5 months earlier from throat cancer. Anyway, I know for a fact it was him. I remember his face and he was full bodied and he nodded at me as a sign of acknowledgement. To prevent any more upset I just told her I must've been confused. Until I saw him again walk through the subway a few weeks later, he was about 15 metres in front, walking in the exact same manner with the exact same bag and paper, and he literally walked straight through the wall at the other side of the road. I looked everywhere incase it really was a doppelgänger, even though I know it was her grandad.

I've never mentioned the second encounter to anyone. Scared me shitless.

MedalMedalMedal · 30/08/2019 11:38

Some years ago I picked up the phone to call my mum. But before I could dial, a woman’s voice was saying hello..? I said hello and she said oh is that Medal? (Ie my name) I replied yes and she said it’s mum and started chatting away. Except it wasn’t my mum Confused

So a lady with a daughter with the same name as mine had misdialled my number at the exact second I happened to pick up the phone to call my mum.

We were both floored by this. She was very nice. She lived miles away from me. We figured it out, chatted for a bit then said goodbye.

Wolfff · 30/08/2019 12:25

The budgie story reminded me that the day my DD’s budgie dies there was a dead bird on our doorstep and I saw another one lying dead on the pavement a bit further down. I wonder if something in the local environment caused them all to drop down dead. Lived there 30 years and never seen a dead bird at all.

ghostofharrenhal · 30/08/2019 12:30

My boss told me a story about what had happened to her that morning when she was walking her dog. She told me exactly the same thing a few weeks later, again saying that it happened that morning.

It's stuck with me as it was so odd.

beatriceprior · 30/08/2019 12:41

Loads but one I can remember was at school.

Maths teacher said "we are going to write down five numbers" then she got distracted with something.

I wrote down five numbers randomly.

She then calls out the numbers she wants us to use and it was the five I'd written down.

StCharlotte · 30/08/2019 12:53

all top of the range gleaming white 4x4s, so not exactly the most common of cars

That wouldn't even be noticed round here!

CurlsandCurves · 30/08/2019 13:12

I’ve got a similar one beatrice

Early days of the National Lottery draw. We were visiting relatives and one of my cousins said if I had bought a ticket I’d choose... reels off 6 numbers.

Then we watched the draw and she matched 5 out of 6.

Cheeseoncrumpets · 30/08/2019 13:39

AVL Have you ever been on the Fortean Times message board? They have a forum called 'It Happened to Me' which I highly recommend if you have a few spare hours lol. There is a long running thread on there from someone who claims to have seen a TV broadcast from the future in the late 80's/early 90's, they cant remember exactly when but it was in the add break during Coronation Street.

SistersOfMerci · 30/08/2019 13:41

This is a brilliant thread that's taken me about four hours to read.

I had one incident as a teen where a five minute car journey took over an hour, never figured out what happened.

I do have these strange blank moments as an adult, like my mind goes blank for a couple of seconds and then I'm back again. So on the basis of this thread, I've decided that I myself am glitching because we are actually all in the matrix and life on Earth is just the story we've been fed.

Were really all a computer simulation that's run by aliens Grin

schween · 30/08/2019 14:17

I have that with 22:22!!

AVL · 30/08/2019 14:17

Oh my, Cheeseoncrumpets that sounds like my experience. I used to watch Coronation Street so that could be it. WOW! Will have to take a look.

AVL · 30/08/2019 14:32

Thanks Cheeseoncrumpets, just found it was actually an ad that was run by a bank, so easily explained. It did fool some people including me. Got to the bottom of it at last. Shame it wasn't real though.

mumhasanicebum87 · 30/08/2019 14:34

I've loved reading this. My parents went away to America when me and my sister were about 18 and 21 and still living at home, it was around 4 days into the trip. I woke up in the morning abruptly having a very vivid dream that my parents were coming home as they hated the place they stayed and the weather was terrible. I told my sister and she had the same dream. It was a bit odd, but me and my sister have had a few things happen when we can sense something between us. That evening my parents called to say they were coming home as they were having a terrible holiday and the weather was awful, as soon as I heard my mums voice I knew instantly what she would say and my sister looked at me and knew too.

Another one is my ex husband was going to be out until late 3 weeks before my due date and my mum said I should see if my sister was about to come over as she didn't want me on my own that night (he often worked night shifts). I called my sister who was about to call me as she 'didn't think I should be on my own tonight'. She came over, we had a takeaway and watched a film. At midnight I told her I wanted to go to bed, but she was reluctant to leave me. After some persuasion I got her to leave. Ten mins later my waters broke so I called my sister. She told me she knew I was going to call and that I would go into labour and that her phone had been on her lap whilst she drove.

OrangeSunsets · 30/08/2019 14:47

I drove my mum to visit my brother. I’d never driven it before but it was a 2 hour journey. I used sat nav on my phone to get there.
Driving back I used sat nav again. It said it would be 2 hours home. Part way through the journey home I needed to exit the motorway a few exits along. I mentally noted the exit number and was thinking about it looking for the signs. 10 minutes later I couldn’t understand why I hadn’t got to the exit. My phone went all screwy and didn’t seem to know the way. I asked my mum to reset the phone so I could figure out where we were. I then spotted an exit coming up with a completely different number and a city name about 30 miles north of home. I ended up pulling off the motorway to park up. We were indeed roughly 70 miles north from the exit I had been looking for. Both of us were confused as hell. I reprogrammed sat nav and made it home. We hadn’t lost any time at all. It was like we had transported from one place to another. I studied maps when I got home but couldn’t find any explanation as to how I got to where we were! Neither of us have ever been able to explain it. No extra miles appeared on the car. I thought sat nav must have messed up initially when it said I needed the exit but how would I have made it so far away without it taking way longer? Weird.

MB34 · 30/08/2019 15:26

Am loving this thread and it’s reminded me of a couple of things I can’t explain.

@OrangeSunsets just reminded me of one I’d just written off as the sat nav being wrong.
My sister and I were driving from South Wales to Sheffield late one night, just driving and chatting. In my head and according to sat nav, we were just coming up to turning off the motorway towards Sheffield, only, when it was telling us to turn off, there was no turning! Sis was driving so I looked at the sat nav until she could turn off and it was showing the correct way. Turned it off and on and reset it. Turns out we were past Doncaster and an hour and a half north of where we should have turned off. Neither of us thought anything of it really, but now I’m not so sure.

Many years ago, I moved and started a new job 200 miles from my home town. Job was HR so I knew that one person in the company was off on maternity leave, yet to have the baby (can’t remember if I’d been told her due date or not). One night in my first week there, I had the most vivid dream where someone I knew had died, I went into work the next day and the lady had had the baby. Not long after I was visiting my mum at home and again, had a vivid dream about my sister dying, it was so real, I remember crying to my mum when I woke up. She told me that the girl next door had had her baby in the night (again, I knew she was pregnant but didn’t know the due date). It happened again where I dreamed that an old uni friend had died and I woke up and thought about contacting her parents to give my condolences. I investigated, she wasn’t dead but found out later that day that someone else I knew vaguely had had a baby. Don’t know if that’s particularly woo but the 3 occasions happened within probably 2 years and it’s never happened since.
