Have you ever noticed a blip in the matrix?

When I was at university we were driving through and unfamiliar part of town. We noticed a school child running and then when he stopped another child further along the road started. This then happened again with a third child. They were in school uniforms, not sports kits and they didn’t seem to interact with each other. My friend noticed it too and at the time we couldn’t stop laughing. Has anyone else got any stories similar? Blips in the matrix.

I do know on MN story about someone seeing their older selves and then their younger selves outside their childhood home!

origami I sort of feel like I know that sensation. Probably just a mild neurological event, like a dizzy spell, but your brain attached it to the sports car ad they coincided.

There is a whole Reddit dedicated to this kind of thing. Ive not looked at if for ages but when I do always find myself spending hours on there. Lots of really strange stuff.

The whole time slowing down thing isnt really the same as when you are at work and time is dragging, its a different kind of thing. Like everything in general just feels slower.

Sat outside a pub in a town we were visiting on a nice sunny day. Saw a women coming out of the road opposite, turn right then move out of sight. She was riding a brand new blue bicycle with a wicker hamper and a summer dress in exactly the same blue and the flowers on the dress matched the wicker. She looked really serene and at odds with the busy dirty road which is why she caught my attention.

About 20 seconds later she did it again... I was really shocked and pointed it out to the people I was with. They all saw her but looked at me like I was bonkers as they'd not seen her the first time. But then, about 20 seconds later she did it again!

I guess she must have been cycling round the block but she must have been going really fast at the bits when I couldn't see her to get round in that time. It was quite odd!

I once had a really vivid dream where my DM kicked a pigeon, I told her about it the next day. She said that was strange as when she had woke up that morning, there was a dead one on her doorstep.

RollaCola84 · 27/08/2019 21:58

I recently got out of my car outside my house, as I got something from the back seat a car from a house up the street passed me going right to left, slowing with its indicator on to turn.

Just as I went to close the front door to the house I realised I'd left something in the car and went back. As I reached my car the same car passed me.... going right to left, slowing and indicating to turn.

Definitely a glitch in the matrix.

fourquenelles · 27/08/2019 22:00

I had my head examined a couple of years ago as I was experiencing rips in the time/space continuum. It was like very real deja vu that made me extremely nauseous when I tried to focus on the thoughts to pin them down. I seemed to be catching glimpses into another life that I was living in parallel with this one. Turns out I have a very mild form of epilepsy. Boring!

cantfindname · 27/08/2019 22:07

As a young teen I had a very vivid dream about a house. It had wrought iron gates directly in front of a massive carved oak double door. Inside the sitting room had a deep red ceiling with a dark pattern painted on it and lots of oriental furniture. A car also featured heavily, a sports car but I didn't have a clue what it was. A couple of weeks later a friend's mum asked if I would like to go on a day trip with them to deliver a dog to some people. Yes, we went to a big old country house exactly as I had dreamed it.

And the car? Turned out the husband had been a designer for early Bugatti cars!

Gave me the chills.

When I was about 7, I was staying at my aunts house and I was sleeping on the couch. I had a vivid dream that I got up, looked down at myself, and I was a grown up, with ripped jean's.

When I was 25, I had a dream that I was back at my aunts house, sleeping on the couch, and I was 7.

I had forgotten about the first dream. But when I was 25, I had been travelling, and I constantly work ripped jean's

Apparently there are now 20 minutes less an hour than there were 30 years ago. I can believe it.

Huh?

Love that Reddit thread @Cheeseoncrumpets

My now DH has a pretty unusual surname. I had never heard of it before or met anyone with the same name.

On my hen do, we were walking from one venue to another through residential streets when all of a sudden we passed a side road that was 'DH surname' Road, and on it, a pub called The 'DH Surname' Inn. It was so weird!

I was in a launderette on a campsite. I was with my two year old but the place was empty. A woman came in and just started talking to me. I don't remember any introduction or lead up and she was going on and on about her husband, her sons, everything that was wrong in her life, mistakes she had made in her life, on and on like a monologue. She was in her sixties, well dressed, told me she was a doctor but I started getting a panicky feeling that I wanted to get away. I scooped up my daughter and politely said goodbye. Later when we got back to the caravan I spoke to my daughter about the encounter - do you remember the lady who was talking etc. She just looked confused, she was only two so couldn't really express herself but I just got a strong feeling that she hadn't seen the woman. I know it sounds stupid but I'm convinced the only person she appeared to was me and her bitterness and negativity were a warning. OK I'm really embarrassed now I've written it all down!

dayswithaY · 27/08/2019 22:21

Also regarding time - there is one journey I take that feels like the longest time ever. It's only about 25 miles but the time drags and drags and road is so long I feel my eyes closing. When I get there I'm exhausted and aching and it only takes about an hour. There's something about that road that just drains me physically.

lucysmam · 27/08/2019 22:23

@Cheeseoncrumpets any chance of a link to the Reddit thread please?

I have an unusual car, over 20, unusual colour. I had numerous moments of thinking i’d seen my husband driving and waving... it was always an older woman though driving.

One day I parked and when I came back there were two near identical cars with only one letter variation in the number plates from mine were parked either side of me. I could have ran off though when as I stood there marvelling two identical women walked towards the cars!!

It turned out they were twins and had bought the cars new for fun when they saw them, they’d also been watching us for ages with our near identical car in fascination. Only lived a few roads away.

tirednhungry247 · 27/08/2019 22:26

Please don't laugh. I'll never forget it

I was about age 7 walking through the busy town centre with my dad walking in front.
On the right of the bustling path a really tall nun walked past me, ( I am not religious and never have been) time completely slowed down and there was no sound.
Her face and head had a bright gold white glow around it and she looked right into my eyes with a normal relaxed expression. I stopped standing still as she walked past in slow motion with cars and people doing the same but only us 2 looking at each other. She carried on slowly walking and I stood still in shock at what I was doing until I felt my dada hands grab me and tell me to hurry up.

To this day I can picture it exactly as it happened. I wasn't frightened, but as I grew up I always wondered what the hell happened and I know what I saw.

slipperywhensparticus · 27/08/2019 22:27

Turquoisetamborine · 27/08/2019 22:28

I fancied a lad down at the pool and decided I would think of an excuse to go back down and talk to him. I decided to say I was looking for my sunglasses even though that wasn’t true.
So I went down and started hunting for my imaginary sunglasses under the sunloungers and lo and behold there were my sunglasses!

Unless someone else had lost some pink Ray-bans! I did have a relationship with the guy as well and he was very nice.

Sitting outside a pub one evening, a burglar alarm had been going off for a long time nearby. I said, "I wish that burglar alarm would stop!" Immediately it did!

tinkering · 27/08/2019 22:35

As a child I could always predict what was going to be said in conversations or had deja vu surrounding conversations - topics, speakers, area where conversation is taking place. It happened loads as a kid. Still does now but much, much less - and never happens at any useful time e.g. lotto Grin

Also as a child. My big sister drove us somewhere and parked her car. I got out first and was waiting for her and my parents. The car she had parked in front of was the exact same make (Renault) colour (silver) and had the exact same numberplate. I can vividly remember going back and forth between the cars counting the numberplate out. When I told my sister she said I was being silly and that it was illegal to have two exact same cars. But it was, to this day I KNOW it was. Confused

Time is a strange thing. I sometimes lose hours and have no memory of what happened during that time.

Catbrat · 27/08/2019 22:48

I always get drawn to places, on my bus route I used to always look at a particular flat, after ages of my eyes been drawn there, a man was stood outside and our eyes met. Few years later, I met a man in a pub my friends mum ran, we got together and it turned out he was the man who lived in the flat/probably the man I saw stood outside.
Also, I was always drawn to another particular pub, always looked at it when I passed, lived about 5min drive from it for years but never went in, such a random pub in a industrial area, years and years later I met my now OH in there, neither of us had ever been to this pub and both of our friends had nagged us to go out that night.
No other picking up random men in pubs stories lol, but it happens often to me, I will spot a house or flat, a building etc and months or years later I will meet the person who lives there or I will or family will end up working there. Happens all the time, I've mentioned it to people before and they think I'm mad.

I've also had the time going slow thing, I can look at the clock and it will feel like a hour has gone by and it's been a couple of minutes, I always get a weird slow creepy feeling where nothing seems right when that happens, and once I took a long walk from home to my mum's, it's a good few miles and would usually take about 45mins, one minute I was just setting off the next I was at my mums with no recollection of the walk at all, it really freaked me out.

Just finished reading this thread and went to FB the first thing I saw was a post a friend shared entitled when there is a glitch in the matrix. The post contained a bunch of photographs of a people looking like a person from an advert or 2 or 3 similar looking people all asleep on a bus/train.
