Have you ever noticed a blip in the matrix?

When I was at university we were driving through and unfamiliar part of town. We noticed a school child running and then when he stopped another child further along the road started. This then happened again with a third child. They were in school uniforms, not sports kits and they didn’t seem to interact with each other. My friend noticed it too and at the time we couldn’t stop laughing. Has anyone else got any stories similar? Blips in the matrix.

I do know on MN story about someone seeing their older selves and then their younger selves outside their childhood home!

I left my house at 08:30 in the morning to make the 10 minute walk to catch the 08:48 bus.

I got to the bus stop at just past 09:40...

I did not wander anywhere else, I did not stop, I did not go into a shop.

I know it was 08:30 when I left as my dad was also leaving for work and the clock on the VCR (yes, old) matched what my watch said.

I know it was 09:40 when I got to the bus stop as it was by a station and I heard the announcement for the 09:42 to London Paddington. Also the fact that I was an hour late for school corroborated this.

Never happened since (although now I regularly check the time whilst walking anywhere!)

At about 13/14 my son used to have the experience of seeing himself swimming past him at the pool, when he was in the lane alone at the end of a club session. He said he knew, without doubt, that it was him. Same trunks, goggles, hair and profile.

It freaked him out so I told my cousin who is a bit “wooo” and she said to tell him to tell “himself” he didn’t want to keep seeing him. He did and it never happened again.

People saying about a glitch in matrix regarding lottery.

I had 1 with the Lottery, but not the numbers.
Dreamt about it, but in my dream it was more of a seasonal game every couple of years much like the world cup, the very next year they started the Lottery up.

When I was 11 I dreamt that I went into the toilet which was at the top of the stairs, my brother was at the bottom and said "Morning Aunty Smiley", I replied with "what are you on about?" He said "sister is pregnant ". Next morning it all happened exactly as it had in my dream. I knew he was about to tell me she was pregnant but I could only say what I'd said in the dream.

Another time the phone rang at the bar and before it was answered I turned to a colleague and said "I'll have to go, its for me x needs an urgent operation". I was right. Shock

Lost two hours on a Mumsnet thread once, I don’t know what happened. One minute I was reading some odd stories and the next two hours has passed me by! Grin

FrankiesKnuckle · 29/08/2019 20:39

@Dustybun I'm really not sure now, the passage of time and all that (ha!)

I might have to ask - I'm intrigued!

Tonight I left Aldi car park with a friend and Rihanna "Umbrella" came on the radio at the same second we turned into the road. Last week on the same night, same Aldi, different friends and car and radio station, "Umbrella" came on as we turned into the road.

I have one. Years ago, when I first moved to the UK, I dreamed that I was driving around our town. I didn’t drive at the time, not having got my UK license. The town looked radically different, although I knew, somehow, that’s where I was in the dream. Fast forward 13ish years to now, and the town is slowly transforming into the town as it appeared in my dream. It’s quite eerie.

For me, it's things like finding out Barack Obama had a half sister living in East London (where I'm from) and so he supports West Ham (my team from childhood).

Or realising that the singer I'd seen playing for free in a dive bar years ago turned out to be a global superstar. And it's never 6 degrees of separation for me, usually one or two. That really blows my mind - i'll develop a crush on some distant hollywood celeb and then realise I've shared a room with someone they've shared a room with. How can that be when there are 6.5 billion people on the planet? Then again I suppose both celeb and I are in the 10% most priviledged on the planet globally speaking. And I'm v ordinary by British standards.

A friend of my mum's who I had been extremely close to died suddenly when I was 18, it was my mum & dad who found her body. A couple of months later I had a dream of my mum's friend in an open coffin with her mum sat at the side talking to her. Her mum had been taken to Australia to live with her other daughter & family as she had dementia about 4 years before my mum's friend died, my mum's friend was a spinster & had been struggling with managing her mum & working full time. The day after the dream I came home from work & was getting ready to go out, I heard my mum on the phone talking to someone & I heard her tell them that she hadn't told me something because she knew it would upset me badly again. I had been distraught when her friend died because she was like another mum to me & it had affected mymental health badly. I went downstairs & said to my mum "Auntie Gladys has died hasn't she, I knew she had died this morning when I woke up" My mum didn't know what to say, she couldnt believe what I had said, I had to explain all of the dream to her. It has happened a few times since, I visited a fortune teller who said I had the second sight, she had never met me before.

When I was about 12 a Canadian girl came to live in our village in the NW of England she had been adopted by an older English couple. I never went to her house but she would call for me regularly and we would go on walks with her dog. Then one day when we were about 16 - she just disappeared - wasn't at school and stopped calling.

A few years later when I was about 21 and living with my bf in Surrey I was at a well known bikers's spot with a load of biker friends. I am convinced I saw her with another crowd unconnected to us - she had distinctive looks and mannerisms.

I went over and called to her but she didn't respond, just kept on talking to the people she was with. I said her name loudly but just couldn't get her attention and thought maybe I was mistaken and I gave up.

I've searched for her on social media but can't find her. I saw a mutual friend at the weekend from schooldays - she said this girl used to call for her too and they also would go for walks with her dog. She also remembered her just disappearing and said she also had tried to find her since but there is no trace.

I wish I'd tried harder with the girl in the bikers car park.

@NicolaC17
That happens to me all the time 😂

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 29/08/2019 21:15

A road near mine has a kind of long low bridge and repeatedly i noticed i would always pass a cyclist (different ones) at the exact same point at the foot of the bridge. Different times of day so not a commute.
The last time it happened i had a passenger so i mentioned it and it hasnt happened since.
Think i better dust my tin foil hat....

My Dad was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s when he was 59. He spent the last three years of his life in a care home. He passed away peacefully at 1am in the morning with myself, my mum and my husband present. Shortly after he died, the care staff asked us to leave the room while they dressed him ready for the undertaker who was on his way. We waited in the seating area at the end of the corridor which had windows that looked out over the road leading up to (and only) the care home.
We watched a fox cross the road then my mum suddenly said ‘what on earth is that woman doing out at this time with her children?’ Hubby and I looked out and couldn’t see anything. She said ‘Look! Look! There! She’s letting her young children play on the road!’ She tried to point them out describing a lamppost that we could see but still neither of us had no idea what she was on about. She was absolutely adamant and getting quite cross that we couldn’t see. She described the lady as wearing a long dress and eventually they disappeared and faded out of view.
My mum isn’t particularly woo but has always said she has always asked quietly to see her late parents and since this, my Dad, to no avail so she certainly doesn’t seem to allow her mind to play tricks on her.
I don’t know if it was because she was tired or what but she still can’t explain it.
Personally, I’ve always had the feeling that maybe as Dad passed that ‘other world’ maybe stayed open a little and Mum saw something play out. Who knows!
I do know that before I called my husband to suggest he came up because we knew Dad didn’t have long, he said our Lab had been really unsettled that night, barking from room to room. So much so, hubby had walked round the house with a baseball bat convinced we were being burgled. I think Dad ‘popped’ in to say goodbye to our dog with whom he had a special relationship with 🤷🏻‍♀️

A few months after my parents bought their (1806) home (pre children) my father went downstairs in the middle of the night to use the toilet. When he entered the back room , the room looked completely different. There were french doors opened into the garden instead of the window. With a lady in 1800 dress and hair standing in the door way. She turned around as if she were surprised to see him! My father ran back upstairs and asked my mother to escort him an hour later.

I have a time one. My son is under a psychiatrist with CAMHS and sees her every 6 months or so. At the last appointment (1pm) she asked how he'd been at school, asked about his meds, did his height and weight measurements and said all seemed normal. I booked our next appointment and then as I left the building I picked up my phone to ring a taxi home. It was 4.52pm. I'd been in there almost 4hrs somehow.

That whole thread from Digital Spy with the Piccadilly Circus story is really scary. There’s a number of posts about a house in Ireland that messed me up for weeks.

When I was 15 I had this constantly reoccurring dream that i was 22 and I got attacked which lead to a head injury. This happened while I was in a field with long, dry grass and a body of water in the middle of it. In the dream I died and saw my headstone and I can’t “see” the date but it was definitely summer. I had the dream for 10 or so nights consecutively, and I never remember dreams the next morning and I remember this one perfectly.

When I was 22 I was living in a rural area and was cutting through a footpath through a field, with long grass and a body of water in the middle of it. I was mugged and stupidly tried to put up a bit of a fight and was whacked round the back of the head with something metal. Ended up needing 7 stitches.

Coincidence of course but gives me the creeps

Irony did you ask the psychiatrist about that ever?

I've had a number of people mistakenly call me Fiona on first meeting me with no knowledge that i have a sister called Fiona. Apparently I look like one!

Was it Ed Sheeran?

I'm on a roll now...

I dreamt I was watching Concord take off in Paris, then it flipped over and crashed. It was so vivid that even in my dream I was thinking "This is real, not a dream". I was quite upset and told my DH and a couple of colleagues. This was the week before Concord flipped over and crashed leaving Paris. My DH looked at me oddly for a while...

When my dad died, his last word was "Mara" just as the phone started to ring. Mara was his sister who lived in Australia. Sure enough it was Mara on the phone and when my sister answered the call, she said "I'm too late aren't I?".
