Have you ever noticed a blip in the matrix?

When I was at university we were driving through and unfamiliar part of town. We noticed a school child running and then when he stopped another child further along the road started. This then happened again with a third child. They were in school uniforms, not sports kits and they didn’t seem to interact with each other. My friend noticed it too and at the time we couldn’t stop laughing. Has anyone else got any stories similar? Blips in the matrix.

I do know on MN story about someone seeing their older selves and then their younger selves outside their childhood home!

Not sure if this counts as glitch in the matrix but weird dream thing.

Got in the car and put radio on, just me and dd (4) and playing annoying lion king cd so switched to radio and playing old 80’s electro track. Suddenly reminded me of dream night before where this track was playing in heaven and dd (in the dream) was dancing on a cloud (we were angels) and said ‘oh isn’t this the song we died to). Freaked me out so turned radio off and didn’t drive off for a minute.

As pulled out of car park a lorry jack knifed at the entrance and his load of big concrete pipes rolled onto the road out car would’ve been on if I’d left 30 seconds earlier.

Freaked me right out!

About 10 years ago me and my daughter were watching tv and the news came on. We sat and watched a piece on a well known british actor at the time that had died. It was one we liked so we were quite bummed. A few weeks later we found out it never happened! He's actually still alive today so........ no explanation for that one.

I was driving down a country lane one day and overtook a cyclist. When I looked in the rear view mirror, he'd gone. Another time, I was walking to my friend's house and a young boy ran down the opposite pavement, past a parked car, and never re-appeared. I presumed that he lived in the house that the car was parked outside, but the cyclist still puzzles me more than 30 years later.

I’m so glad about this thread! When I was about 20 (a long time ago), I was walking along a very crowded Oxford Street with my mum. For just a moment - a second maybe - EVERYONE stopped. I’m pretty sure I kept going. I always wonder whether it was a glitch in the matrix; in my brain; in my eyes; or if i’d been abducted by aliens in that time then put back 😂

I work on a sales counter. I was talking to someone called Mrs X (not a common name) on the phone , and realised that the two other people on the counter were also talking to someone called Mrs X, all booking for the same event. I thought it was totally brilliant, no one else seemed impressed!

canyoufeedthedog · 29/08/2019 18:12

I have a very unusual first and last name. When I was giving birth to my daughter it turned out that another lady with exactly the same name had a daughter that same evening, midwives were laughing about their spooky twin mums. At babies first clinic appointment for weighing Midwife started asking me how the babies reflux was and I was really confused as my daughter didn't have any problems. Turned out the other "me" was registered at the same doctors and lived in the same small town, they had got our notes mixed up. So same first and last name, same day of delivery daughters at same hospital and same Doctors surgery both living in same small town. We've never met as far as I know!

When I was 14, we went on a family holiday which included aunts, uncles and cousins. There was one family we didn't invite (the loud family). I was reading my magazine back at the tent and it got to the star sign page and for my star sign it said "an unpopular family member will turn up unexpectedly". I am not shitting you, 10mins later the family arrived and pitched up right next to the rest of us. My cousins blamed me for there arrival all week.

Alleycat1 · 29/08/2019 18:34

When I was 10 there was a programme o n TV featuring a man with an unusual name. I told my mother that it was the name of my soulmate and that I would meet him one day. I used to write the name on the calendar every year. When I was 16 I went to our local youth club and a boy was standing with his back to me and I knew it was him straight away before I even heard his name. My mother couldn't believe it when I told he r. We were together on and off, although never married to each other, for over forty years and still talk on a regular basis. We can each make the other telephone just by thinking hard about them.

RedWineForMePlease · 29/08/2019 18:40

Back in my home country when I was a child, my family would joke that I looked like the love child of two well known celebrities there.

I had never met either, and only seen them on TV. One day when I was a teenager I had gone to the capital city, and I walked past both of them together.

They weren't a couple, and both had families of their own, so I don't know why they were together (probably just friends) but it always spooked me a bit...

origamiunicorn · 29/08/2019 18:51

@justlliloleme Oooh that's really interesting! That does sound similar. I wish I'd noticed the buildings or shops at the time but I was too transfixed on the car and as soon as the car was out of my sight it all went back to normal, so it happened so quickly. The main thing I remember was how saturated the colours felt and how it made me feel really cheerful. Smile

FindaPenny · 29/08/2019 18:58

Once went to the London aquarium and saw a young family infront of me, there was nothing remarkable about them. Over the next couple of months I saw them twice more near where I live which is over 5 miles away from the London aquarium.

Something similar happened. We were travelling abroad and I started chatting with someone in the queue. 4 weeks later we were coming home and they were on the same flight. Again makes me wonder do we see the same people over and over without realising. I suppose my examples are more coincidences rather than blips in the matrix.

Another weird thing. I once had a dream that someone had a baby and called it Mckinley.
The next day I was watching some sort of quiz and the question was something like 'what mountain is named after an assassinated president?' sort of automatically I just answered Mckinley without really knowing the answer. Turned out it was right. What a bloody useless thing to dream of 😐

I drive a car in a very unusual colour - I'd never seen one like it before. The day I went to look at it at the dealers (was driving a hire vehicle after my old car was written off) and decided to buy it, I went to drop the DC off with their dad and there, parked right in front of his house, was a car the exact same make, model, year and unusual colour. It's now parked there every weekend when I drop the DC off.

StCharlotte · 29/08/2019 19:11

Ooh I've got another one. Woke up singing an old song. Turned on radio and same song was playing and came in at exactly the note (in tune natch!) I was singing.

StCharlotte · 29/08/2019 19:13

What a bloody useless thing to dream of 😐

Unless you were on the final question of Who Wants to be a Millionaire...

Sparklypen · 29/08/2019 19:13

One day after work i got back into my car and couldn't find my sunglasses. They were quite pricey ones and I had a clear memory or wearing them into work so search through the car and then went back into the office to look there. Still couldn't find them so decided I would ask reception when i was next in.

When i got home, there they were on the hall table. Really weird that i had such a clear memory of wearing them in that morning ..

AnnonniMoose · 29/08/2019 19:14

I've had a lot of strange things happen, but this was one of the strangest...

The DC and I were staying in a hotel for a weekend. After we checked in we were walking down the long passage searching for our room. There was a door to the outside on the left hand side of the passage. I quite clearly saw the dark night outside, the stars in the sky, the lights in the parking lot, felt the breeze on my face. DD1 went outside and stood looking up at the stars. I told her to come in as we needed to find our room.

I then heard DD1 calling to me from further along the passage saying she'd found the room. I looked to my left again and there was only a solid wall. No door to the outside. I said to DD that she was just outside, and she looked at me like I was nuts. I was a bit freaked out tbh.

Angel75 · 29/08/2019 19:19

@mumaw... It was Nicolas Lyndhurst.

canyoufeedthedog · 29/08/2019 19:20

Just thought I'd ask on this thread. Has anybody who has been to Newquay Cornwall and been on the beach next to the Aquarium ever seen a woman sat on a tallish rock on the beach singing. I have only ever seen her once and have been many, many times since. Think she was singing Let it be. I was with my boyfriend at the time and he always says that he never saw or heard her. I'm always wondering if I just dreamt about it.

Rachand23 · 29/08/2019 19:24

A few years ago my DD was going for a really tough interview for a place on a training course which was hugely oversubscribed . As a Christian believer I decided to fast and pray on the day for her to get accepted on the course.

I arrived home to find a parcel waiting for me that had been delivered that day. I had won a competition prize from a comp I had entered a month or so before. It was a book with the title “God remembered Rachel”.

My DD is called Rachel. And yes she got a place on the course, in fact she got highest number of points on the day!

Silene · 29/08/2019 19:30

I’ve twice had a strong feeling of something wrong, once I felt panicky and ill the whole day. In the evening I was told my DGD had been diagnosed with a serious condition needing an op. The other time I woke feeling extremely anxious about a schoolfriend, had no idea why she came into my head but I couldn’t settle at all, I went through all the bookcases looking for something to read, settled on an anthology, and marked the poem Lines to my Daughter. Two days later I had a letter from my friend, from the oncology unit, she had been kept in unexpectedly, had nothing to read, found a poetry book in the dayroom, copied out in pencil Lines to my Daughter as she thought I’d like it. So strange.

canyoufeedthedog · 29/08/2019 19:39

It was this beach, Rowan and she was on the rock in the foreground. Just thought she may have done it a few times as it's quite an odd thing to do as a one off.

Last Sunday I had the urge to listen to some panpipes music while doing the housework and Daniel by Elton John came on and I sang along.

Immediately after the song ended I went into the garden to get the washing in and I could hear the same music.. thought the song had come back on in the house but then realised it was a local event playing live music.. Daniel by Elton John
