Or only booked after prince Harry's controversial Private jet trip?

OP posts:
GlitchStitch · 22/08/2019 16:33

He lectured some poorly paid hotel worker in his hotel in Rome about the fact that his dry-cleaning had a plastic cover on it.

Ugh what an obnoxious prat.

LizzieSiddal · 22/08/2019 16:33

My guess is the seats were booked in advance

Or they could have been booked recently and people who had booked those seats may have been asked or rather told, that they had to move due to 'computer error/operational reasons'

BertrandRussell · 22/08/2019 16:34

“only just after wagging his finger at the plebs (not 'world leaders') for holidaying in popular spots and having plastic covers on their dry-cleaning,”

@GlitchStitch - after the spin you put on the “two children” and “boastful” incidents, I think I’ll wait for some facts before I agree....

nononever · 22/08/2019 16:37

but the photographers 'just happened to be there' for .... reasons

The photos were most likely taken by a member of the public. Photographers wouldn't be able to catch that angle of photo as they wouldn't be allowed near the runway. Tiny airport, usually small planes and no bridge connection either. Hellish boarding or landing when the weather is foul and you have to sprint across the tarmac.

Be interesting to see if Harry and Megan fly commercial when they come to Balmoral which has been reported they will be.

IcedPurple · 22/08/2019 16:37

By all means:

*But it turns out the Prince is actually not high maintenance at all. In fact, there's only usually one thing on his agenda when he checks into a hotel, and that's whether or not it's environmentally friendly.

In a recent interview, Harry's friend, Argentinian polo player Nacho Figueras described the recent trip to Rome they took together. As Prince Harry checked into the hotel, he wasn't concerned about how nice the view was, or whether there was a soft enough towel dressing gown. Instead, he was concerned about the hotel's use of plastic.

"He was there and we were at the hotel where we spent the night before the game. He talked to a person and said, 'This morning I got my coffee and I saw that you have a plastic thing on the coffee. And then I also sent my shirt and I got my shirt in a big plastic bag'," Nacho revealed.

"That's who he is. That’s who they are," he added, referring to Meghan. "No plastic*

Also, it is our business - we're tax payers

The Cambridges aren’t funded by the taxpayer so it isn’t our business.

IcedPurple · 22/08/2019 16:40

Well, they would be if it had been arranged with the royal seal of approval!

But even if the pics were taken by a member of the public, I don't think they would have been published without the Cambridge's consent, as the children are clearly shown.

GlitchStitch · 22/08/2019 16:40

I was joking Bert, I'm sure the flight was pre booked, but the timing was funny. You are very heavily invested in defending prince Harry lecturing the plebs for such a staunch republican.

BertrandRussell · 22/08/2019 16:44

He lectured some poorly paid hotel worker in his hotel in Rome about the fact that his dry-cleaning had a plastic cover on it”

But that’s nothing like the piece you linked to.You completely made up “lectured”and “poorly paid hotel worker”

“I would rather you didn’t put plastic covers on my shirts” He might even have said please!

BertrandRussell · 22/08/2019 16:46

I lectured a poorly paid chip shop worker today by asking her not to put my fish and chips in a carrier bag........

GlitchStitch · 22/08/2019 16:46

Did anybody else cringe at this bit?

I'm guessing these interviews and tweets from friends either plugging or defending them are done with their approval?

HerRoyalNotness · 22/08/2019 16:46

PW has been photographed on regular commercial flights a few times before, so I don’t think it’s out of the ordinary as such.

IcedPurple · 22/08/2019 16:48

But that’s nothing like the piece you linked to.You completely made up “lectured”and “poorly paid hotel worker”

So you reckon the person who delivered Harry's shirt to him was highly paid then?

“I would rather you didn’t put plastic covers on my shirts” He might even have said please!

Or he might not. But why does it matter? The person Haz spoke to had no say in the hotel's policy on such matters. Why tell him or her off about it? If he's so concerned, why not stay in an eco-friendly hotel with no dry-cleaning service or no take-away coffee for him to complain about? There must be some in a touristy city like Rome.

And while he's at it, why not stop taking private jets for leisure purposes?

I don't know why the Haz 'n' Megz fans are trying so hard to defend the indefensible. They should pick their battles and sit this one out, because they're making themselves look daft.

RedForShort · 22/08/2019 16:49

Good job it wasnt Ryanair, they'd have been stressing about if they'd be able to go*.

  • admits doesn't really know when the flight in question was
IcedPurple · 22/08/2019 16:51

Did anybody else cringe at this bit?

I cringed at the whole thing, and am cringing even more at the attempts to shrug it off above. Why are people so desperate to defend these two? I don't get it.

I'm guessing these interviews and tweets from friends either plugging or defending them are done with their approval?

Of course they are! That polo hunk Nacho Figueras is one of the minor celeb 'friends' who regularly take to Twitter to defend Ginge 'n' Cringe. You can be sure there's something in it for him, even if only the 'prestige' of being seen to be mates with royalty. There always is in these 'friendships'.

Baguetteaboutit · 22/08/2019 16:53

Aren't they just flooding the media with as many column inches of Monarchy News to water down the fucking nightmare that is Uncle Andrew.

That too.

TheFairyCaravan · 22/08/2019 16:56

How did he tell them off? And how do you know who he spoke to, were you there?

I must be a right bitch, I commented on the amount of single use plastic they were using in a hotel we stayed in in Menorca.

harryisahypocrite · 22/08/2019 16:57

It's a perfect response to a twat of a brother who said they'd only have two kids for environmental reasons.

Now that Harry doesn't have his minders around to prevent his stupidity coming to light we are seeing the real him.

It's a shame for two reasons. Firstly I used to like Harry and now I just can't and secondly Ive always thought Wills and Kate were workshy and never liked them and now I'm having to. I didn't want that to happen either

FenellaMaxwell · 22/08/2019 16:57

My DH was on a budget flight from Heathrow to Scotland with them a few years ago, so I think it’s how they usually travel to Balmoral TBH.

IcedPurple · 22/08/2019 16:58

I must be a right bitch, I commented on the amount of single use plastic they were using in a hotel we stayed in in Menorca.

If the person you spoke to was a lowly employee not in a position to do anything about it, then yes, you were.

BertrandRussell · 22/08/2019 17:01

“The person Haz spoke to had no say in the hotel's policy on such matters. Why tell him or her off about it?”

Where did you get the ”telling off”? “I don’t want a plastic bag on my shirts” “Certainly, I’ll remember tomorrow”

Criticize him for real stuff. Don’t make things up.

IcedPurple · 22/08/2019 17:04

Where did you get the ”telling off”? “I don’t want a plastic bag on my shirts” “Certainly, I’ll remember tomorrow”

You keep igoring my point - the person he spoke to would be highly unlikely to change the hotel's policy on such a matter.

And why can't eco-warrior Haz wash his own shirts in the hotel sink like the rest of us? Then the heinous issues of plastic bags won't arise!

How many plastic bags would it take to equal the carbon emissions on a single on of Haz' 4 private flights, do you reckon? Hundreds? Thousands? Millions?

MangoFeverDream · 22/08/2019 17:04

How often do we see pics of the Cambridges - particularly with the children? They would certainly have given approval for the pics to be published

Yep. This tells you it was released on purpose. Don’t forget that tiffs between the RF are often played out through the press
