Or only booked after prince Harry's controversial Private jet trip?

“joyfullittlehippo can you provide any evidence for any of that...?”

Why should she? Posters never provide evidence for the things they say about Meghan......Grin

Propertyofhood · 23/08/2019 09:15

Going on and on to the general about about saving the environment and then taking 4 private jet journeys in 2 weeks is the absolute height of hypocrisy, there's no two ways about it.

I remember thinking the exact same thing when Leonardo DiCaprio made his Oscars speech about how they it was really hard to find a location with snow to film The Revenant - the carbon footprint of making an promoting that one film is probably bigger than most of ours in a lifetime!

MangoFeverDream · 23/08/2019 09:27

It seems obvious that it was a last minute decision as Kate and Wills use private planes all the time. They don’t get criticised for anything they do and DM love them

Oh boy, do you even read the DM? They slagged those two off all the time: Waity Kaity, Workshy William, Three Kitchens Kate, Duke and Duchess of Dolittle, etc etc.

Lot of it is deserved too imo.

In fairness, K&W use commercial a lot too, but never photographed as William would have a hissyfit about it. That this was published is meaningful, they wouldn’t published photos taken by a random pleb because they still need access to the RF (foreign media do not care as much)

“joyfullittlehippo can you provide any evidence for any of that...?”

Why should she? Posters never provide evidence for the things they say about Meghan

So there's probably no point in using the journalistic phrasing of:

"'Quotation from previous post'

Could you give me an example of that?"

over and over again when people don't provide evidence (the toads!).

This is a message board. Not a press interview.

FenellaMaxwell certainly isn't the only person here who has used that type of question.

whattodowith · 23/08/2019 10:18

Harry is not listening.

Tbf, I don’t think Harry ever has listened. There’s nothing new here, he’s never been fantastic for the Royal’s PR. Think Nazi, think Vegas, think his little ‘p word’ friend...

BertrandRussell · 23/08/2019 10:22

@LaMarschallin - when you helpfully quoted me you missed off the Grin at the end. I’m sure it was quite unintentional.

@LaMarschallin
when you helpfully quoted me you missed off theGrinat the end. I’m sure it was quite unintentional.

See, that's because you're a nice person.

I'm afraid it wasn't unintentional. I'm not a huge fan of emojis but occasionally bung in a Smile because it's easier than typing "THIS IS A JOKE".

But the Grin one gives me the creeps for some reason.

On reflection, I think it looks like a frightening yellow skull.

I may take emojis too seriously.

I always want to tell posters making Hmm or Confused faces that the wind might change and they'll stay like that.

FenellaMaxwell · 23/08/2019 13:14

@BertrandRussell I’m not quite sure how that is relevant? If you make claims about anyone then you should be able to substantiate them. That other people don’t always substantiate or aren’t always asked is neither here nor there. In this case, the poster has made some specific remarks and I’ve asked her to clarify them. She can by all means choose not to do so should she wish - it’s a free country. But the argument that she should never have to back up her argument because completely different people don’t back up their comments about a different person is just a bit odd.

BertrandRussell · 23/08/2019 13:21

@@BertrandRussell I’m not quite sure how that is relevant? If you make claims about anyone then you should be able to substantiate them.“
I absolutely agree. Which is why the Grin . I am always asking the Meghan detractors to substantiate their claims that she sticks pins in a wax model or Prince Philip or something. They never can.

LaMarschallin · 23/08/2019 13:43

Which is why the Grin.

And, I see now why I should have included it.
You were using it in the same way that I said I use a Smile. So my quoting you without it presented your post in a different (and less jokey) context.

I'm sorry about that.

But Fenella makes a fair point.

If you can refer me to any posts about the royal family where you have asked people why they are criticising anyone other than Meghan or Harry or asked them to give evidence for their opinions about anyone other than M or H, I will blush. Like this: Blush.

By the way, @FenellaMaxwell, is "Fenella" too informal? Would you prefer "Mrs Ferranti"?)

LaMarschallin · 23/08/2019 13:46

Ah.

Here's the missing ( from my above post.

FenellaMaxwell · 23/08/2019 14:00

@LaMarschallin Grin Fenella’s fine by me! We’re all too busy shagging in looseboxes to stand on ceremony Grin

4forkssake · 23/08/2019 14:02

I think it was pre booked. It's not the first fly be flight they've taken (Zara's wedding was another time).

StoneofDestiny · 23/08/2019 17:27

It was a last minute booking no doubt.
If it was ok to fly on a regular flight once, it should be done all the time.
It’s our business as we pay for all this flying around!

Oscarsdaddy · 23/08/2019 17:39

I feel they felt wrongly pressured into doing this and they were wrong to do so. For crying out loud William is second in line to the throne, he should not be flying on a budget airline just for the sake of PR

BertrandRussell · 23/08/2019 17:43

I don’t think they chose a budget airline. I think they chose an aeroplane that goes from their local airport to Aberdeen. If they’d gone in a posh plane they would have had to go via Amsterdam!

Jellicoe · 23/08/2019 17:47

PW has taken commercial before! I love that little George reaches for PW's hand as they cross the tarmac.

nononever · 23/08/2019 17:59

If they’d gone in a posh plane they would have had to go via Amsterdam!

Absolute truth. A friend has to fly via Schipol to her destination south of the border when she goes for business. There are no direct flights and any other scenario involves a hire car and a very long drive. Flying to or from Aberdeen is a mostly a logistical nightmare.

Nothingcomesforfree · 23/08/2019 18:04

The problem for me is that Baldy and Dimwitwere supposed to be the new and evolved generation of royals.
W&K don’t come across as any different from the other stupidly rich upper class folk that I know and are family orientated.

Haz and Megs have just sent the family back straight to the glory days of parties, lovely frocks and cavorting with the rich and famous. Simultaneously preaching to the proles about the environment and giving those in the third world opportunities, whilst taking planes and having a lifestyle funded by Uber rich celebrities.

Wish Haz would give up his Royal status and go and live in the States. Mind you my money would be on him coming back in five years when the divorce came through.

BertrandRussell · 23/08/2019 18:05

Which is why the “ooh, just like us, a budget airline!” Is a bit off. There was no other choice.

Chucky3gg · 23/08/2019 18:06

I don't know. But what I can say is, I generally have no issue with royals taking private jets, however I take huge issue with them taking private jets after preaching to the rest of us about "doing our bit for the environment"

BertrandRussell · 23/08/2019 18:09

So Charles and William then.....

Chucky3gg · 23/08/2019 18:15

Calm down meghan...

ChangeItChild · 23/08/2019 18:17

They do take budget airlines & regular flights from time to time, so this isn't unusual for them, it was very convenient the cameras were there at just the right time though Grin

BertrandRussell · 23/08/2019 18:30

If was a press person, i’d have been hanging round Norwich airport hoping to see a private jet....
