Do you give your real name in Starbucks

My dp and i went in one day.Gave our real names.Was waiting ages.We went up and out coffee cups had Patty and Sue.

Our names sound nothing like Patty or Sue.And my dp is a man.

I always say it’s Milly. It was the name of my first dog.

Also, you can’t get Milly wrong.

No. I have a name that gets confused for similar names.

I have an Irish name, so my Starbucks name is Claire or Karen.

Yep always give my name and they ask for a spelling.

I don't understand why you wouldn't give your real name, but I do think their employees have competitions to find out who can write the most ridiculous variation of simple names...

Yes, now I do, after I said I was Princess Consuela Banana Hammock and one of my senior managers was in the same Starbucks and heard them call it out. He was a humourless twat so I got the full effect of his miserable disapproving glare.

They'd have written 'Princess' at best...

Er, yes it did, I went to school with the barista serving me so I was taking the piss. I'll be accused of drip feeding now, but .

I hate shops that yell out your name. I'm a private person and don't particularly need everyone In yelling distance knowing my name.

Also I have a confusing name, so I generally just say it's Kate, which is nothing like my name.

I use the name of the person in front of me at the queue. I get my coffee earlier that way as well.

It shuts me the music is really loud and when you give your name they ask you at least three times to repeat yourself

Haven't been to a Starbucks in years. But I've always just given my nickname since my given name confuses everyone. By the time I'd spell it out (it sounds nothing like its spelling- typical Irish name), they could have served twenty people.

I won't go in Starbucks purely because of this game giving nonsense.
I like costa, stand in queue, order, they make coffee, give it to me, I pay then sit down.

I do, it’s a short and relatively common name. They usually spell it right, as there’s only two variants.
