What clothes would put you off a potential partner?

Inspired by the ‘What three items would you never wear?’ thread in AIBU - is there an item or style of clothing that would put you off if you were looking at someone as a potential partner?

I've just walked past a man who was wearing a ‘If found, please return to the pub’ T-shirt. This and all similar variants (‘In case of emergency please insert beer’ with an arrow pointing upwards etc.) would kill any lust for me. I’m sure there would be people who think it horribly judgemental, but I just know this would be the type of man who’d enjoy prank shows, Unilad and ‘epic bantz’.

Anyone else?

I really cannot stand those 3/4 length shorts with the toggles. The wearer usually has pale chunky calves and the whole look makes me feel a little bit ill.

AuntieMarys · 06/08/2019 16:50

Polo shirts with the collar up
Ditto rugby shirts

Pinkout · 06/08/2019 16:52

Tracksuits
Any cartoon/slogan T-shirt
Socks and sandals

My ex husband has turned into a child since we separated. He turned up wearing a Dragon ball Z cardigan the other week, even our eldest DC asked him what on Earth he was wearing Grin. Kinda glad I divorced him...

I hate polo shirts and cargo trousers too, men in 3/4 trousers looks awful. Hate cords as well.

InsertFunnyUsername · 06/08/2019 16:54

Short sleeve shirts, crocs, anything fleece, Beige trousers, boat shoes, Lycra. Loose fitting Jean's with raggy ends.

Iamthewombat · 06/08/2019 16:55

I fully support evilharpy’s leather waistcoat action.

FaFoutis · 06/08/2019 17:44

I quite like a leather waistcoat on a man.

salty78 · 06/08/2019 17:49

Mince trotters

ie. no socks and loafers

PeriComoToes · 06/08/2019 18:03

Sliders and sports socks. It is NOT cool, young men of the world.

managedmis · 06/08/2019 18:06

Skinny jeans on fat men

Well, any men who have an arse at all, really

Iamthewombat · 06/08/2019 18:16

Go to a Status Quo concert, FaFoutis! You would clean up.

WanderingStars · 06/08/2019 18:20

Cargo shorts
Bootcut jeans
Anything Superdry

soapona · 06/08/2019 18:27

Not too concerned about clothing. Just tattoos are a definite no from me. Although I do like to see men in well cut , quality clothes.

Greenglassteacup · 06/08/2019 18:35

Tracksuits.
Loud branded anything.
Shoes without socks.
Cropped trousers.
Beanie hats, saggy monstrosities.
Diamond stud earrings.
Streaked / highlighted hair.
Blue suit & brown shoe combo, especially those brown shoes that turn darker, almost black at the toe, yuk.
Gold coloured watch.

EskewedBeef · 06/08/2019 18:38

Men in fleece jumpers anywhere but on the side of a mountain have long since given their last shit. They look like the static shock they'll get every time they touch something metal is all the thrill they need in their life.

kidsdoingmyheadin · 06/08/2019 18:43

I think men have it quite hard in terms of summer footwear & what options they have.

Things I hate
short sleeved smart shirts
black necklace things with a wooden cross or similar - & they are always too tight.
signet rings
chewed up jeans

StillCoughingandLaughing · 06/08/2019 18:50

I hate polo shirts and cargo trousers too, men in 3/4 trousers looks awful.

These two items, worn with trainers and white sports socks, are what I call the B&Q uniform. You can’t walk around any DIY store without seeing bored looking blokes wearing said outfit being dragged around by their wives. Usually with a gold chain to top off the outfit.

Short shorts (shudder)
Long baggy shorts especially worn with shoes and socks.

RaspberryRippleCrisps · 06/08/2019 18:56

Saggy trackie bottoms hanging halfway down their backside. Always makes me think they look like they're wearing a nappy. Grin
Really long leather coats. I LOVE a leather jacket on a man,but leather coats look creepy.
Likewise leather trousers. Love them if a guy is riding a motorbike and is togged up in biking leathers (or in a rock band!) but for every day wear? Just no.

AquaPris · 06/08/2019 18:59

Dirty clothes, bucket hats, druggie shirts (stupid psychedelic patterns), always wearing shorts. Red trousers.

AquaPris · 06/08/2019 19:00

I'm 24 so don't mind sports clothing but tracksuits put me off (particularly grey if they're a bit soft around the middle Envy)

WhoKnewBeefStew · 06/08/2019 19:02

Skinny jeans
White trainers
Crap shoes
Collar up in polo shirts
3/4 length trousers
Sandals

percheron67 · 06/08/2019 19:06

What on earth is wrong with putting the collar up on a polo shirt? I don't like the collars turned down. Anything mentioning football. Jeans or trousers which hang low and show the bottom. Joke T shirts. Beards. Track suits when nor worn for sport.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 06/08/2019 19:06

Those shoes that look like Cornish pasties. AKA geography teacher shoes.

Jins · 06/08/2019 19:08

Cycling gear
Football shirts
Surplices
