Underrated chocolate bars

Ok so I know it’s not strictly a chocolate bar, but last night I had such a craving for a Twix. Haven’t had one in years. Got one today and it’s as good as I remember, the crunch, the caramel and just the right amount of chocolate. So, was just wondering what everyone else’s forgotten favourites are?

I wish they brought back mars delight, secrets and fuse bars

Does anyone else remember the Daily bar? It was around in the late 70s/early 80s (showing my age!)

Two squarish pieces in a white wrapper, with red/blue writing across the middle. The pieces were a bit like milky way but wider and flatter.

I sometimes wonder if I dreamed them as no-one else has ever heard of them!

Speaking of caramac, I had a Gold Biscuit bar the other day for the first time in years, BLISS!

My favourite which no one else seems to eat is the Reece's nutrageous bar, bloody lovely salty peanuts with peanut butter, caramel and wrapped in chocolate.

I can't remember what they're called, but they're milky way, in sort of hollow wafer tubes, coated in chocolate. Bloody delicious.

I have only recently discovered star bars and my goodness, what heaven.... Definitely a game changer in the choccy aisle.

Russell19 · 03/08/2019 21:30

@Oilyskinproblems my husband did that too. I was disgusted.

clash those Milky Way tubey things are amazing with a cup of tea, I’ve only found them in Aldi in the aisle of random purchases

What was the bar, boost shaped, that had peanuts all round the outside??

I remember the fruit Poppets - a school friend’s dad worked in the Poppets factory and would bring us bags of mis-shapes.

Gold biscuits! They remind me of being at school and having one watching countdown when we got home.

Toffee crisp. I love them.

Topics 😍 Bloody tiny now though

@Wombleish you're not wrong, I rarely eat chocolate bars but I do crave one occasionally. Had a look the other day and all the old regulars do indeed have palm oil or palm bulk in them.

Haven't checked Maltesers yet. Please let them be ok and Fry's chocolate cream too!

@itsjustallshitrightnow Sadly, Fry's Chocolate Creams do have palm oil in them. Not sure about Maltesers.

Oilyskinproblems · 03/08/2019 22:28

Chippyminton - so glad someone else remembers them!

Rockbird · 03/08/2019 22:34

Anyone in Ireland want to send me some Moros? I bloody love them.

@toweanornottowean
I love Topics so much, but can only get hold of them at Tesco that's totally out of the way.

I live in fear of them being discontinued.

Chocolot01 · 03/08/2019 22:43

@ReeReeR was it a Bitz ? I loved them would have probably been late 80,s ?

ReeReeR · 03/08/2019 22:45

@Chocolot01 Yes I think so!

libertyminty · 03/08/2019 22:46

I think I got put off Topics when years ago, my flat mate showed me a photo in a tabloid of a mouses head inside one. It was accompanied by the usual sad face of the woman who discovered it. We had a lengthy debate about whether the woman had placed it inside the Topic in an attempt to get compensation or if the mouse fell into the vat of Topic making mixture. Either way, it kind of put me off them.
