HV has told me my baby is too heavy

And I'm feeling really crap about it.

We had his 10 month check. He is weighing between the 75th and 91st centiles for weight but only 25th for height. She said there should be a maximum of 2 centiles difference between the 2.
She told me to stop spoon feeding him completely. This has thrown me because although he has breakfast and lunch as finger foods dinner is almost always spoon.

I just feel a bit low about it because I thought I was doing ok.

But when it comes to dc and weight/diet choices it not just about the mother. Look at the whole extended family. Is there a tendency to be heavier? And it is good to look at the attitudes toward food from all members of the extended family as this plays a big role as dc grow older also.

Another one who doesn't think you've been at all defensive in this thread Hmm.

Thanks @MeadowHay
I just wanted to be clear that he has always been on the high centiles. Unfortunately they haven't done his length before so I have nothing to compare it to. I have a real tendency to agonise and obsess and I really really want to curb it, so whilst I am listening to what she said I dont want to become obsessed over what he eats.
His father is on the stocky side - he is probably carrying a couple of pounds more than he should be - but that is down to chocolate. Our meals have always been pretty healthy and our portions are quite normal I think. I'm not tall and I think DH is about 5ft 9 and his paternal grandfather is about 5ft 6 so it is highly unlikely he is going to be 6ft 2!

I would honestly give it time as there's photos of DC being BF & fed, they looked bulky on photos, then they just skimmed down as they got more active and adventurous! Tastes change all the time too, plus growth spurts!
