Carol has replied to Anne saying she is shocked that Anne would cancel her flight after promising it. Anne has told her that she gave her no option .
Both Barbara and I have messaged Carol saying that she has behaved badly and should apologise to Anne.

If the penny hasn't dropped with Carol by now, then it never will. Pointless having a stressful meet up.

Love the idea of Geoff looking forward to you going, how different from Dick!

I have been gripped by this, and think there is no doubt that Carol and Dick would have shown up at your villa sooner or later.

Or say yes, then all of you turn up with your husbands and procees with a lovely couple lunch. Ignore her. And feign total disbelief when she questions it because "we thought when you said a girls lunch you meant husband were welcome. Isn't that how you understand girls gatherings?"

While reporting the meeting would undoubtedly provide entertainment for this thread, I can't imagine it will do any good and could be stressful. I wouldn't meet. "What's done cannot be undone".

Much as I would love to get feedback from a meeting, I do agree it would be a waste of time and stressful for Anne. What does she want to do? If she were my friend I would be quite happy to respond on behalf of all of you telling her to Fuck Off so that Anne can ignore her.

How about you and Barbara meet Carol - let Anne relax away from the drama. You can make it quite clear to Carol that both she and Dick have behaved badly.
