Hand hold: DH missing after "accident"

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:20

I know it's not been long, but this is really out of character and not sure what to do next.

Rang my DH on his mobile to let him know what time I'd get in and he didn't answer - often happens so then call him on work line. His work said he'd called in on way back in after lunch saying he'd been in a car accident but was fine, and neither hide nor hair heard since. That's all I know - no indication of the severity of the accident or where he or my car (which he drives) have got to.

I've been trying him on his mobile countless times, called 101 to see if they've got him somewhere, also A&E - but no joy.

He's been off grid for about 5 hours now, when he'd normally have picked me up, got the Tesco and we'd be sitting starting our weekend. But not even a text to let me know he's not dead in a ditch, and I don't have that phone tracker either on this latest handset.

Starting to panic slightly - if anyone is around for a hand hold or some pointers as to how I can track him down that's would be much appreciated....

Poor you OP. I’m glad he’s safe but you must be all sorts of fuming with him now.
Xx

IvanaPee · 07/06/2019 20:22

Sounds like he’s been arrested, OP.

I’m so sorry. Flowers

WeeDangerousSpike · 07/06/2019 20:23

Oh OP, I hope you find out what the hell is going on soon. You must be swinging between fear and anger like a pendulum, I know I would be.

At least you know he's not hurt.

bobstersmum · 07/06/2019 20:23

I hope it's nothing too serious, and if he is in custody would he not have been given one phone call or is that just on TV?

stucknoue · 07/06/2019 20:23

Sorry Thanks hope he's ok.

Just a thought, it could not be crime related, he could have been sectioned

pictish · 07/06/2019 20:24

Gosh you must be so worried.

broken1982 · 07/06/2019 20:24

I'm sorry to say this but have you checked his wardrobe and that all his clothes and such are still there.
Sounds very similar to what happened to my mother years back. Her fella dropped her off at work on the morning then dropped me off to work in the afternoon then disappeared off the face of the earth. When we thought to check his drawers/wardrobe turns out the bastard had fucked off for good

Chuffingchuff · 07/06/2019 20:25

Why wouldn't he have got the police to let you know? Hope you find out what's going on soon OP I would be going out of my mind.

broken1982 · 07/06/2019 20:26

Oh I'm sorry I didn't see your update

LollipopViolet · 07/06/2019 20:26

Oh gosh how worrying. Glad you at least know he's safe, hopefully you get some answers soon.

Darayan20 · 07/06/2019 20:26

Call them again and try to have more information they can't let you worry this much it's inhuman

OnTheEdgeOfTheNight · 07/06/2019 20:26

So he made sure he called his office, but didn't bother to get a message to you? I imagine you may be feeling livid right now. Do you have anyone in real life to talk to? Do whatever you can to look after yourself, eat, sleep etc.

Omgyouatetheprincess · 07/06/2019 20:27

Oh god, hope all is ok and you get some answers soon Flowers

livin · 07/06/2019 20:27

How are you, OP? Glad he is safe but definitely sounds like he is in custody. I hope he hasn't hurt anyone else Thanks

TinselAndKnickers · 07/06/2019 20:27

I hope you get some answers soon OP this must have been scary as hell. Weird that he called his work and not you - wonder what his excuse was going to be?! At least you know he's alive Thanks

OnTheEdgeOfTheNight · 07/06/2019 20:28

If he was only allowed one phone call (and I don't know whether that's accurate) surely he should have phoned his wife, and asked her to contact his office?

FundamentallyTired · 07/06/2019 20:28

@Darayan20 of course they can. GDPR, privacy etc. Several pp have stated that the DH will have been offered a phone call and has not given permission to disclose to OP.

Therefore she has no rights to know.

SheepOnRafts · 07/06/2019 20:28

Sometimes detainees decide not to let their loved ones know. Especially if it’s their first time. Embarrassment.

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 20:29

He called in to work. I'm guessing what happened was after that and his lunch.

FundamentallyTired · 07/06/2019 20:29

Can you ask them about the car though, if that belongs to you?

Soola · 07/06/2019 20:29

Various possibilities as to where he is including police cell, other woman, watching the football in a pub, on his own in a hotel etc but he did have the opportunity to text or call the op that he would not be following his usual routine and coming home on time as he was able to phone his work and give a story about not returning to work.

By not affording the op that courtesy he has left her worried sick and that is incredibly selfish of him.

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 20:29

Op do you have someone with you?

Usuallyinthemiddle · 07/06/2019 20:30

Glad he's safe. Hope you're holding up. Xxx

DoctorDread · 07/06/2019 20:30

How odd and worrying op. Hope you get answers soon

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 20:31

News! And thank God not awful.

I tracked him down to the most likely police station and spoke to both him and the police. Police confirmed he gave them my number straight away, and that they just hadn't called me as they were too busy - not sure why 101 said otherwise. Could have done with them not prolonging the agony on this.

Soooo turns out that on the way back to work someone reversed into him - no damage to either car but the other driver came out raging and screaming and shouting he was going to call the police, so OH did call the police, and both of them have been taken in to have a blood test (not breathalyser as not available - ?!?!!). OH wasn't drinking at lunchtime so that will all be fine.

This has taken all afternoon as you can imagine, and he has to have a final interview and then will be released - not committed any offence.

FUCKING HELL.
