Hand hold: DH missing after "accident"

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:20

I know it's not been long, but this is really out of character and not sure what to do next.

Rang my DH on his mobile to let him know what time I'd get in and he didn't answer - often happens so then call him on work line. His work said he'd called in on way back in after lunch saying he'd been in a car accident but was fine, and neither hide nor hair heard since. That's all I know - no indication of the severity of the accident or where he or my car (which he drives) have got to.

I've been trying him on his mobile countless times, called 101 to see if they've got him somewhere, also A&E - but no joy.

He's been off grid for about 5 hours now, when he'd normally have picked me up, got the Tesco and we'd be sitting starting our weekend. But not even a text to let me know he's not dead in a ditch, and I don't have that phone tracker either on this latest handset.

Starting to panic slightly - if anyone is around for a hand hold or some pointers as to how I can track him down that's would be much appreciated....

So sorry to hear that things haven't turned out well so far. Hope it's resolved soon and not as bad as you fear.

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 20:31

Brilliant.

2ndAugust · 07/06/2019 20:32

At least you know where he is, hopefully no one was hurt and the rest can be sorted. If he’s feeling ashamed he’s hardly likely to call you in front of the police. Reserve judgement until you have spoken to him.

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 20:32

Sit down and assuming you're not driving, have a drink. Hell be home soon and can tell you everything.

AnotherEmma · 07/06/2019 20:32

What a relief, glad he's ok.

Groovee · 07/06/2019 20:32

What a worry to put you through x

SophyStantonLacy · 07/06/2019 20:33

gosh OP, can you get someone to come keep you company? Your mind must be racing.

simplekindoflife · 07/06/2019 20:34

Thank goodness! Get some wine in OP! Sounds like you both need a drink!

SilverDapple · 07/06/2019 20:34

Jesus wept, what a storm in a teacup! So pleased all is fine OP!

MustardScreams · 07/06/2019 20:34

Bloody hell!!

So glad it turned out reasonably well and he’s actually fine and did try and let you know. This will be one of those times you’ll laugh about eventually. Relax now until he’s home.

ThomasRichard · 07/06/2019 20:34

Gosh, how awful for both of you! If he called work then why couldn’t he call you though?

Soola · 07/06/2019 20:34

Blimey what a rigmarole.

Glad he’s ok and it was nothing awful.

HasThisSoddingNameGoneToo · 07/06/2019 20:35

That’s about the best update you could have had! He’s fine, everyone’s fine, he tried to contact you, it’ll all be ok. I’m so relieved for you, OP.

That is the best you could have hoped for, phew

PoorAnnie · 07/06/2019 20:37

Sorry, but I think there must be a bit more to it than he's telling you.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 07/06/2019 20:37

oh that is flipping marvelous news. He is fine, not in trouble, and will be home soon. I'm delighted for this good outcome. BUT even my heart was racing through this one, so here's to how you feel.

Morticiaismystyleicon · 07/06/2019 20:37

If the non emergency line know where he is but are not disclosing to you and are getting the local officers to contact you it may be that he is in their custody but they can't tell you where etc because he hasn't given his consent. Which may just mean for one reason or another that he's not been booked in yet and given his consent/ phone call.
Or he may have been taken to hospital by the police (presumably for something quite minor if he was able to personally tell work after his accident) so they know where he is and are either with him waiting for him to be assessed so he can go into the station or that they've dropped him off (assuming dead phone and local hospital) and don't have any further information- they wouldn't be able to tell you that if they hadn't had consent to do so.
There are more sinister possibilities, but I'd be assuming one of the above for now.

iklboo · 07/06/2019 20:37

What a scary day OP. Hope you're ok

Floralnomad · 07/06/2019 20:38

Must be a quiet day for the police where you live if they are going to question 2 people about a minor traffic offence for an entire afternoon - bizarre . Why had he not phoned you earlier to let you know where he was ?

Glad he’s ok and is getting sorted. This is why we should all have car cams front and back. What a waste of time. But I can see why he called police as the guy was threatening.
The 101 person is in the control room and doesn’t have necessarily have access to the custody info which states whether he’s given permission for someone to know where he is. The fact that they didn’t call you is the fault of the custody sergeant/officer in case. But the police are massively under funded and they are always run off their feet with mistakes being made all the time. It is shocking when you know how they function.

Morticiaismystyleicon · 07/06/2019 20:38

X post, sorry! I type like a dinosaur!

hellenbackagen · 07/06/2019 20:39

sorry op im police officer and absolutely none of that rings true.

the only reason bloods are taken is suspected drink or drug driving.

if its drink driving then bloods are taken if the person has to go to hospital or for some reason CLAIMS they have a medical reason not to blow into the intoxilyser machine.

if drug driving is suspected bloods are taken for analysis if the roadside test cant prove one way or the other.

this all sounds very very off and he wont have been kept in custody all afternoon for nothing.

you need to dig. and get to the bottom of it.
