Hope you're ok OP? I've just been to buy DD's secondary school uniform. She looks so smart and excited in it. She's had a really rough time in Y6 so hoping this will be a new start for her, she's going to a different school to everyone else. I do now feel that I need to lie down in a darkened room to process the cost of it though!! Hopping she never needs everything new all at once again!

For my potatoes and onion beds. I sieve it and the fine stuff goes on the onions and the coarse stuff goes on the spuds.

Oh, mine's a bit shit as well. Only titbit I have to offer is that I was arguing with my mother about who owned a painting a friend did for me as she was saying it was hers. I silently turned it over so she could read the inscription 'to Frownette with lots of love'. That shut her up, I tell ya.

I have the motivation to do the garden / fence paint, but can't get passed the spiders, bugs and general icky ness of being in the garden. I've jumped out of my skin twice seeing a large spider so I've given up and come on MN

Sending good wishes and virtual hugs to all today, out of sorts a bit myself today for no reason, usually delighted to have day to myself when my son is gone to his dad's but just back from a short field walk with my aged (12) labrador who is panned out now, have lots of weeds waiting (blooming by the second) for me to get them with the spade.
I think we all need to say to ourselves it's ok to feel like this and sit for awhile and then do something we like, read, draw, mumsnet, pat the animals and chat to them of course.

I watched Taxi Driver last night and utterly hated it. Enjoyed it years ago but now even a young, sexy Robert de Niro couldn't distract me.

Appreciate it's a searing portrait of disaffected young men out from the Vietnamese war trying to readjust back into society though.

I'm trying to have a sit down for five minutes but DD aged 4 keeps coming in from the garden whinging at me, despite the fact she's had my undivided attention all day while I've taken her to swimming lessons and then out on her bike to the park. I'm also knackered from getting up in the night to feed the 5 week old. Need to go to the supermarket and can't be bothered.

I was in B&M this morning buying stationery for work, a couple with a little boy about 3-4 were talking about painting the fence so he grabbed a bottle of yellow poster paint for them So cute.
