Anniversaries are always difficult days. for anybody feeling sad.

Oh anniversaries are horrible. How many years has it been? I find the cloud lifts as soon as it’s the next day, hang in there.

My day has been ok but hard work. My children are soooo loud. I’ve brought them to a soft play and planned on doing some knitting but found I’m at a really hard bit (turning the heel on a sock) and I just cba to concentrate.

What was your twin like? Were you identical?

Yes. She and I were inseparable. We were joined at the hip. I almost hate her for leaving me. So every 1st June I have her favourite drink which is a mix of cranberry and a fuck ton of vodka. Doesn't actually taste as good as it once did with her pouring out various measures of vodka and declaring it a cocktail

So sorry Vlad I'm spending the 4th day in a row housebound with a puking lethargic kid and systematically reading every mn thread ever. I've a book I can't get into and cleaning to do that I just can't face. Considering a vodka based drink now. Will have a root and see if I have any...

Ditto re cleaning I can't face either. I suppose to be working today (at home) but I have done for the last 3 days and can't get motivated.

Not having the best of days. Had a hysteroscopy on Thursday. I’m wondering whether I’ve an infection because I can’t quite work out whether the bleeding is normal or not.

@floraloctopus can't remember what it's called. Kindle is upstairs and I can't muster energy to move. Despite having done nothing except clean up puke for 4 days. I have drawn a lovely chalk snail on my patio though, which I'm proud of, and am now drinking vodka and apple juice which I have raised to OP's twin. (Sorry - no cranberry in)

I'll raise a glass of cranberry juice to OP's twin as I have no vodka.
My kindle is also upstairs and I can't muster energy to see what I'm reading either. I maintaining the pretence that I could do some work any minute as long as I'm sitting at my work laptop.

Thank you both for raising a glass to her. She'd be delighted! I was always the po-faced one calculating the units of alcohol whereas she was more free spirited and very much the more the merrier sort of girl. Can't deal with summer when she's not around as she was such a summer girl.

@VladmirsPoutine would it help to talk more about her? How long since she died? Or better to move on to sneezing fish and the like? I've a good line in talking nonsense. Especially with a few vodkas inside me. (Apple juice ran out so now on vodka and clementine juice. I recommend)

Having a shitty day here too - just struggling to get any energy to do anything and ill feel shit on Monday as i hate my job if I don't do anything at the weekend.

@SmellMySmellbow She died 3 years ago and I've never really moved on. I feel angry with her yet still very much adore her. She was my everything. We lived in each other's pockets.

@floraloctopus Her name was Zara. She lived a pretty amazing life and made me a better person but since she left I've not really ever been the same person.

We are about to go out to do some errands, groceries, dry cleaners etc. Then later is DD2’s birthday party. Escape room followed by a sleepover. I need to find some energy and motivation for it all. It’s only 11.30 am here.

Oh Vlad, I can't even begin to imagine. Of course you won't be the same person after that, it's literally life-changing. That's OK though. You still seem pretty awesome to this internet stranger. 3 years is not long at all
