There's been a change of main topic from dog poo, to the repatriating of Christmas cards sent to the wrong address, sometimes many years after the addressee has moved house. It's like a walk down memory lane!

Oh we've also got a new supermarket coming that's been talked about for years. It's on a bit of a shit roundabout traffic-wise and without fail now every time there's an accident in the area (which is probably once a month at most) the same three opposers pop up going 'wait til the supermarket gets here, bloody nightmare.'

We get the same "light a blue touchpaper" thing with an empty shop unit, every few months someone posts that they've heard it's going to be a MacDonalds and off it goes.

We aren't in a village but a small market town.

If there is an empty shop you'll get 50 posts saying 'Please not another Charity shop/hairdressers/coffee shop' ... then someone (usually under 18yrs old) will say 'we need a subway/macdonalds' EVERY TIME.

Had a corker on ours last night. Poster reported a car had driven in to the street at speed with no lights, driver gets out and legs it, car shows signs of being in a crash. WHO DO I REPORT IT TO?

I mean really?! If only there were a handy 3 digit number for this kind of scenario.

@VeryFoolishFay We have a 'stupid idiot got stuck in the ford again' posts every now and then too, sometimes with a photo. Then everyone replies saying how they should be charged for wasting the fire brigades time, risking their rescuers lives etc. and how the road leading to the ford should be closed permanently to stop idiots driving through it and getting stuck.

Ours at the moment is:
Repatriating cards and parcels.
Much yelling about incompetent delivery drivers.
Cats, always fucking cats.
CCTV stills or videos of suspicious people.
Everyone should buy local, artisan stuff, it's besides the point that many are using food banks and can't even afford Aldi.
What day is the bin collection with Christmas, followed by many stating they should just look on LA website because they clearly have the internet.
Parking.
Speeding.

Is the post office in Xx open later than usual today?

I’m in a city now so the page is very much burglaries and other serious things. My old village page is gold though

I think we all live in the same village!

Ours is mostly complaining about the massive roadworks and the immense disruption it causes. All justified.

That, and posts from the hairdresser saying they've got a vacant appointment this afternoon.

And missing cats. So many cats!

Ours is currently mostly various Christmas related events (Santa visiting an estate agent's today; a "youth gathering" at a club in the evening etc).

A cat was lost and is now found. A dog has been found and taken to the local vet.

Some lone person has decided the local FB page is the place to promote the need for a socialist government, with various links thrown in. He's also posting youtube videos of random songs. I wonder if he's okay...

My local small town FB page today, is all about a big brawl in one of the wine bars that spilled out into the street last night.

Where can I see Christmas lights & whether the collection times on postage boxes are correct. Also cats & dogs missing, a local nail technician had some spaces & the opening times for local chemists over Christmas.

he's also posting youtube videos of random songs.I wonder if he's OK...

I live in a village - village green, maypole dancing,carols under the tree, the lot.I've never explored the local facebook group.Seems I'm missing out on a huge source of entertainment!

People moaning about on street parking and ended up in someone scratching somebody else's car on purpose.

Moaning about the new houses being built while simultaneously complaining that there isn't enough housing and custom for businesses in the village.

A thread full of rather unpleasant comments from
Villagers towards a Muslim gentleman who had introduced himself as a new resident and explained that he was hoping to find a building to use as a small mosque.

Somebody keeps seeing Santa and is posting videos it is very exciting

There is much rage as it's really bad this year. They're are loads of dogs for a little village, but we can't work out who the phantom poopers are messing up the place.

Suspicious vans and people wearing hoodies 'looked foreign'. Responses vary from 'stfu racist' to 'if I see him I'll beat the shit out of him'.

Once had a 'Just seen an ambulance at 22 Road Name. Hope everyone's ok'. That turned ugly very fast.
