Why is he so obnoxious? I have a real irrational dislike of him. Am I unreasonable?!?

Sorry - inane

littlemeitslyn · 23/12/2018 11:21

CHOCKLIT 😡😡😡😡😡

Schmoobarb · 23/12/2018 11:34

This thread is brilliant Grin

I don’t mind him that much but he is annoying and he’s on everything!

My autistic 10 year old loves him though. He loves Eat Well for Less and Inside the Factory.

brizzledrizzle · 23/12/2018 11:41

I suspect that most would rather go into the garden and lick slugs . . .

Looking at a picture of him I am struggling to see the difference.

ellenanora5 · 23/12/2018 12:33

I see my fellow mastercheffians have covered everything I need to say Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 23/12/2018 12:55

Could be a grower, Halsall.

BasiliskStare · 23/12/2018 15:00

Oh I have laughed at so many posts, thank you all Grin Flowers Wine But I just ( and this is my opinion only - do not see what GW brings to master chef - its always the bit , ( in this house ) and I do recognise that my opinion is not everyone's that we just shout , Oh do FO Greg and let us get on with the programme. If he is generally popular then fair enough . Not sure BBC haven't taken the view - we'll keep it going unless a massively dreadful thing ( i.e. if it isn't actually broken don't fix it. ) I give you Tess . I do like Monica , she's great .

BasiliskStare · 23/12/2018 15:03

But and this is only my opinion , a decent tortoise tasting the vegetables would entertain me as much as Gregg Wallace. And also with the benefit of not shouting . Actually I am now amusing myself with thought of tortoise as 3rd judge.

Maelstrop · 23/12/2018 15:19

He looks like he smells of ham

I'm dying, brilliant!

I cannot stand the man, he makes the stereotype of Cockney barrow boys look bad.

GodrestyemerrySchadenfreud · 23/12/2018 15:24

What a magnificent tortoise, Halsall

GodrestyemerrySchadenfreud · 23/12/2018 15:27

*Looking at a picture of him I am struggling to see the difference(

Slugs are less personally repulsive and as they are a) hermaphrodite and b) have internal reproductive organs (most of the time), knowing that they are "going commando" sends less of a shudder down your spine . . .

. . . they are more discerning in their food choices, too.

GodrestyemerrySchadenfreud · 23/12/2018 15:29

bold fail - I cocked it up - sorry Xmas Sad

BasiliskStare · 23/12/2018 16:31

Oh I am sure Gregg the Wallace is lovely but - nothing against him - in a purely personal inferring basis Master Chef is a lovely engaging programme except when Gregg Wallace is on - That is only my personal opinion. Am sure people love him , but really really does he ever tell us any thing interesting & his manner with some of the contestants is not congenial . But - if he brings in a wider audience - who am I to say .

But I think I would actually watch it more if they replaced Gregg with a tortoise

I just think the BBC has given up - and gone a bit a bit if it aint broke don't fix it.

brizzledrizzle · 23/12/2018 16:43

Thanks for the clarification of the benefits of slugs.

Actually I am now amusing myself with thought of tortoise as 3rd judge.

One would be quite good but I think TV fame and fortune would demand that they came out of their shell a bit more.

MrsChollySawcutt · 23/12/2018 16:58

I can stand Greggg either. I just don't understand what he brings to Masterchef especially the professional version. He puts me off watching as he is so cringeworthy.

Monica and Marcus are more than capable of presenting the show without him. Come on BBC, save yourself some of the licence fee and get rid of him.

TroysMammy · 23/12/2018 17:40

My DP hates me reading out snippets from MN (he just about tolerates kitten pics) but in the case of GW he's enjoying the vitriol.

BasiliskStare · 23/12/2018 18:09

Can we lobby the BBC for having a tortoise as 3rd judge or is that perhaps a step too far. I'd vote for tortoise. ( possibly not able to do the winter series as in a box with straw ) but still more congenial than Gregg Wallace - How is he on this programme ( GW not tortoise) He is not just annoying in this house and amongst my friends - he actually makes it worse

But I guess we do not switch off so why do BBC care ?

BasiliskStare · 23/12/2018 18:15

And re PPs - yes save a bit of licence money and make people happy.

BasiliskStare · 23/12/2018 18:33

@Godrestyemerryschadenfreud

I have done a very clinical and forensic test re slugs and the other person. Just my opinion - would rather see a slug going commando .

But really - do the BBC not care or are we all just shouting in the wind ? Or is he actually popular I have complained about him to BBC and got a very - "thank you for your comment " type response. Maybe a whole load of people think his is great or (as I said ) if it isn't broken don't fix it)

GodrestyemerrySchadenfreud · 23/12/2018 20:08

One would be quite good but I think TV fame and fortune would demand that they came out of their shell a bit more.

brizzle

Xmas Grin
GodrestyemerrySchadenfreud · 23/12/2018 20:11

I can't believe that he doesn't cost them more in his ridiculous fees for his many programmes than he saves them on the price of turnips!

You could stick a baboon in an ill-fitting shirt and a pair of specs and it would be more personable - better arse, too.

BasiliskStare · 23/12/2018 20:14

Hence Gregg

TroysMammy · 23/12/2018 20:39

I remember him once saying on MC "I like it a lot". Just like Jim Carey's character Lloyd Christmas in Dumb and Dumber. Twat.

PavlovianLunge · 23/12/2018 21:06

I don’t think it’s been mentioned, but he was a football hooligan and has a conviction for assault.

wakeupmillwall.livejournal.com/125890.html

What a charmer he is.

BasiliskStare · 23/12/2018 22:22

Monica , Baboon , tortoise ? new line up ? After all the bakeoff managed with out Mary Berry.
