I am literally crying and helplessly wheezing with laughter reading this thread. I agree with all of you. Except the odd specimens who find him attractive

I used to watch Masterchef but I just couldn't bear any more of him so had to bail several series back.

I think the first thread I ever started on MN about 10 years ago was about how Masterchef would be really good if he wasn't on it.

I love MC but can't get through an episode without shouting 'Nobody cares GregG!' when he starts - particularly when he mentions his frigging sweet tooth.

Also he used to advertise Weight watchers & now he's put all the weight back on. In my mind (probably unreasonably) this makes him a fraud.

I feel sorry for Monica. She always comes across so well.

l never really had an opinion of him until someone on twitter was posting about cancer (l forget if it was fundraising, or something similar) and asking celebrities if they'd mind retweeting for a wider audience.
The person posting the original tweet mistakenly addressed him as 'Greg'. He responded with something along the lines of 'Greg?!', and made rather a juvenile fuss about it, which prompted a flurry of tweets about him being more concerned about the misspelling of his name, rather than either just ignoring the request, or retweeting it.
He could even have just replied with something like "Thanks for that, done. Gregg." But no, he had to make a fuss about his name. l don't think that did him any favours at all. l haven't liked him since.

I had absolutely zero opinion on him until I watched "Inside the Factory" on demand with DH last week. He was so rude to the poor fuckers who had to dragg him round showingg him how teabags are made- i actually said to DH "why is he being so fucking obnoxious?!". And the best part of it was he clearly thought he was being hilarious.

Also it was charming that your woman Cherry was packed off to do the bits that involved onerous travel (Kenya and, er, Scotland) whereas GregG only had to go as far as Liverpool. Maybe his accent stops working if he goes more than 50 miles from a pie and mash shop.

That restaurant review is really something - though I don't like the way he is described as "Masterchef presenter, judge and chef ".

Gregg Wallace is an absolute twat and I have also stopped watching U.K. Masterchef as he enrages me so much. When he holds his lapels I keep expecting him to launch into "chim chiminee chim chiminee" and do some high kicks

I heard (probably on MN ) that the reason the BBC haven't fucked him off, is that his grocery business supplies them for free/cheaply and this is why they retain him. IIRC he is also listed on production teams
