Why is he so obnoxious? I have a real irrational dislike of him. Am I unreasonable?!?

Bring back Lloyd Grossman

Absolutely! He brought a level of integrity to the role sadly lacking in Gregg Wallace!!

Ivegotthree · 20/12/2018 22:00

Yep he gives me the shudders too

Kernowgal · 20/12/2018 22:02

I had to turn over from the Christmas Factory programme because of his behaviour in the Quality Street factory. It was like he'd never seen chocolate before, and he kept saying the same things over and over, like he'd had a lobotomy. The staff who showed him round must have been Hmm

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 20/12/2018 22:03

He looks like he smells of ham.

Tony2 · 20/12/2018 22:07

John Torode slaps his chops when he eats. Mm. Ran off with the OW too didn't he? Two Gs, Gregg, ooh, he's definitely gonna have to raise his game and take it to the next level and show his passion Wallace. Failed restaurateur, cabbage expert. Did he run off with OW? Meeow.

Tidypidy · 20/12/2018 22:12

I saw him years ago being interviewed and he says he doesn't wear underwear. I think of it every time I see him and it makes me want to vomit.

longwayoff · 20/12/2018 22:16

YANBU at all. How has his career happened? Massively irritating. Imagine cooking with him shouting and bawling at you. I'm not usually given to violence but wouldn't trust myself in a kitchen with him, one of us would have to go. Bring back Michel Roux jr.

Hogtini · 20/12/2018 22:16

I too think of the no underwear situation..unfortunately it came to light when he was doing Strictly Envy

Strawberryhat · 20/12/2018 22:20

balloon the egg shaped one! I think he was called Bill?

For anyone who hasn’t seen Masterchef Synasthesia on YouTube, it’s very very good, although it does show a lot of his face

TokyoSushi · 20/12/2018 22:22

He's absolutely one of my most disliked people - can't bear him!

longwayoff · 20/12/2018 22:26

Oh it's GregG. Like a pasty shop. Of course. Thanks for all the pies GregG, explains a lot.

bunintheoven88 · 20/12/2018 22:27

I used to work for an upmarket hotel chain and he stayed there with his extremely young wife several years ago.
They both got into the lift as I was taking a room service up, I asked what floor they wanted, she was quite polite and told me whereas he completely ignored me, then as soon as the lift doors shut he started ferociously snogging her! I was only 19 and so embarrassed Blush
Wouldn't have minded as much if he had even acknowledged my existence, or the lift had been slightly larger!

jessstan2 · 20/12/2018 22:30

Blimey, I never knew the man generated so much hate! I only know him from Masterchef and only see that occasionally, my husband likes it but I can do without it. He seems alright to me but our acquaintance is short.

ShowOfHands · 20/12/2018 22:30

I can't bear it when people are rude about celebrities on here....

But Gregg Wallace is a jumped up, fat headed barrow boy and the sight of him fellating a spoon of tiramisu is enough to dampen the ardour of the entire nation.

YouGotRedOnYou · 20/12/2018 22:38

He looks like he smells of ham
I know exactly what you mean. That sulphorus smell you get when you open a pack of wafer thin.

BehemothPullsThePeasantsPlough · 20/12/2018 22:38

What is the point of him?

Every single one of those nice young men in the Masterchef Professionals final had infinitely more refined palates than Wallace will ever have, and knew far more about food. What the hell makes him a reasonable person to pass judgement on them? Bake-Off doesn’t ask Noel Fielding to taste the cakes.

MamaLovesMango · 20/12/2018 22:39

Bring back Lloyd Grossman

Seconded.

The pair of them turn my stomach to be honest, if anything because of the way they eat. I can’t watch it.

TwistedStitch · 20/12/2018 22:41

He's revolting. Serial cheat who caused the mother of his kids to have a breakdown. Then left his teenagers in the custody of his third wife who he'd only been with about a year when they split and he pursued a new relationship. How he gets any women to sleep with him I don't know.

BlancheM · 20/12/2018 22:46

He is bleurgh for all of the above reasons but the worst for me is how he acts like a teenage boy encountering boobs for the first time, over any pudding put in front of him. Surprised he doesn't start rubbing his thighs like Vic Reeves on shooting stars.

MiroUnicorn · 20/12/2018 23:01

Missmouse101 - He is so irritating, can't put my finger on why though! He always looks like he has halitosis, I can almost smell it through the television.

THAT!!!!!!!

fadingfast · 20/12/2018 23:21

Cannot bear the man. How he continues to be present on the screen is a complete mystery to me. After 5 minutes of hearing him saying 'chocklit' on yesterday's Christmas Factory I wanted to punch my fist through the screen.

PerspicaciaTick · 20/12/2018 23:35

I first noticed GW when he fronted a phone in programme about vegetables on Radio4. It was a low point for R4 and swiftly disappeared. Imagine my horror when he popped up on TV and we could see him being an arse as well as hear him.

CakeNinja · 20/12/2018 23:55

Oh this thread is marvellous.
Have you ever seen that programme where he goes to peoples houses and tells them to buy cheaper everything - ridiculous programme but at the beginning, he hides in a supermarket and pops up from behind a broccoli stand/cereal display. It’s children’s quality tv but I wouldn’t wish that moon face on kids.

SignOnTheWindow · 21/12/2018 02:15

Can't stand that open-mouthed grin he does. Didn't know about the serial infidelity. Ughh.

HelenaDove · 21/12/2018 02:27

I have found my people. He makes my skin crawl.
