Have you ever gone off a celebrity because of something they've done?

I used to really like Ewan McGregor until he had an affair.

Same with Robson Green in the 90s.

I loved Michael Moriarty (still do) but he's become a huge loony and an old soak.

Liked Ant McPartlin before the drink driving and infidelity.

Have you ever liked a celeb and then gone off them because of something they've said or done? Does it just prove that celebs are human like the rest of us?

Jessica Ennis. Someone I know went to the same gym as her and said she was rude, obnoxious and nothing like she comes across on tv.

ihatethecold · 27/11/2018 11:43

Alexander Skarsgaard, for dating Alexa Chung! Sounds so silly but anyone that is in the public eye and denies a clear eating disorder is, in my book, unforgivable. So her and Alex can naff off now.

Are you being serious?? FFS... just because someone may have a mental health disorder does not mean they have to share this information with the world.

Bunnymumma · 27/11/2018 15:33

@ihatethecold I worded it too flippantly. There was an interview with her where she claimed people were just jealous of her "high fashion figure" and projecting their own self-loathing onto her because she was fortunate enough to be thin. I knew two people that worked with her and it was extremely well known that she would be awful about people behind their backs, if she found them to be bigger than an acceptable size.

I know I sounded like an arse. Didn't mean to!

ihatethecold · 27/11/2018 15:40

thanks for clarifying Bunny.

@Exexexcel I met Danny John Jules a few weeks ago and he couldn’t have been nicer. He was very kind to my dc (who are huge fans) and I had a lovely nostalgic chat with him about Red Dwarf. He was very down to earth and friendly.

I went off Bob Geldof when he came to a work thing. He was very arrogant, and dismissive of any opinions that didn’t chime perfectly with his. Up himself.

I have been a fan of Morten Harket since 1985, but I try not to read interviews with him because he always comes across as a humourless pillock, which is so disappointing. There was that affair with the woman from Aqua too, when he was married to his first wife. Sad

mirren3 · 27/11/2018 16:00

Gary "I'm wonderful" Barlow, for the stunt he pulled when he was new on X Factor with the lady who had auditioned several times and had, I think, mental health issues. He ended up sitting on the stage with her and going through her bag and found her passport. Then announced to the whole audience that she wouldn't need it. I can't even look at him now.

Exexexcel · 27/11/2018 16:10

@VenusClapTrap thanks that is very to hear!

Bunnymumma · 27/11/2018 16:59

@ihatethecold Bloody shame though. I used to say that I'd be willing to bathe in Skarsgaard's sweat! Ha!

Coniferhedge · 27/11/2018 17:05

I went off Kylie Minogue a little bit when I read that allegedly she had a fling with Jean Claude Van Damme when they were filming Street Fighter. Very shallow, I know, but....Michael Hutchence? Hell yeah! Grin Jean Claude Van Damme? Err, no. Envy (not envy).

DunkandEggAgain · 28/11/2018 13:25

Jean Claude Van Damme was very very good looking in his hey day.
Surgery and drug use has taken their toll.

ShockedHorrored · 28/11/2018 14:20

I refuse to be put off David Tennant. He married someone he fell in love with. Nothing dodgy about that. And most people
Who’ve met him say how nice he is so I think if he was rude once he can be forgiven. Fingers crossed he doesn’t turn in to a Scientologist 🤞🏼

Letsnotargue · 28/11/2018 14:36

@Binglebong Oh no re Ray Mears. We've met him a couple of times on his tours when he'll happily sit and sign things and chat with people after the show. I know he's 'on' when he's doing that but he seemed so genuine.

Binglebong · 28/11/2018 16:30

Different circumstances. He may have thought we were awful too!😁

my3bears · 28/11/2018 16:37

Tom cruise - after the sofa jumping incident and then Scientology. I also noticed his teeth and that then ruined my childhood Top Gun forever

Amanda Holden - for breaking Les Dennis' heart

Neil Morrissey for his part in breaking ales Dennis' heart 😂

Bunnymumma · 29/11/2018 15:24

@my3bears All of these!

PsychedelicSheep · 29/11/2018 21:17

Asia Argento - I'm a fan of her father Dario's giallo movies which she was often cast in, and used to think she was the coolest girl in the world (even though she's a fairly crap actor as it goes).

The recent allegations of sexual abuse with a minor have rather put paid to my admiration of her recently though.

Binglebong · 30/11/2018 12:12

Eamon Holmes. I used to quite like him - thought he was genuine (I've now looked at him in a different light!) But about 5 hours after the Manchester attack he put out tweet complaining that the police had not provided the media with a "narrative". Disgusting behaviour - they were a bit busy and probably had no idea at that point. They had given updates but how could they say exactly what happened before they knew? Could have been more bombers for all they knew.

Lost all respect at that point. I know I was not alone.

Binglebong · 30/11/2018 12:13

The letting male police who identify as women do intimate searches on women didn't endear him to me either!

beanaseireann · 01/12/2018 09:45

Binglebong
I went off Eamon Holmes when he left his wife and children in Northern Ireland and went off with Ruth whatshername

BlancheM · 01/12/2018 10:11

I didn't know any of those things about Eamon Holmes and I didn't like him anyway. Sneeriness personified, rude to guests, mocking and dismissive and treats Ruth like a bit of shit he can't quite flick off his shoe.

cricketmum84 · 01/12/2018 11:14

And now Noel Edmonds. Came across as a right self absorbed arsehole on IAC and he kept cheating.

MrsJayy · 01/12/2018 11:21

I liked Noel I thought he was hilarious Blush

Penny1976 · 01/12/2018 11:32

Rolf Harris
Gary Glitter
Eddie Izzard
Johnny Depp

Patroclus · 01/12/2018 12:39

I've always had arsehole/partridge vibes from Edmonds since I was about 3. I'm amazed other people cant see it.
