Inspired by a thread about hygiene - carpets in kitchens and toilets, I thought it could be interesting to recall some of the diabolical tat from the past.

PenelopeShitStop Are you sure that's not a masterpiece? Worth a fortune?

Shampaincharly · 17/08/2018 19:37

Re those furry hats with the furballs. I am sure there were muffs to go with those .

Ellyess · 17/08/2018 19:38

TornFromTheInside I want them! The green leg things!

TornFromTheInside · 17/08/2018 19:41

TornFromTheInside · 17/08/2018 19:43

Also, anyone love a top to toe Pierrot bedroom?

Torn put the binoculars away, you pervert.

VQ1970 · 17/08/2018 19:45

I’m loving this thread. I’m a child of the 70s and remember so much of this stuff and still have some!

I’ve still got a couple of the TOTP albums but I’ll post those on the other thread.

We had Zena hanging on our lounge wall growing up. She now lives in my attic because I didn’t want her thrown out when my mum downsized and my husband won’t let me hang her in our house. One day .....

Great thread. A vintage shop in my town has a Spanish Lady pic for sale - £35. My DM tells me they cost 19/- 6d back in the day. I can't find a pic but am I the only person who remembers internal doors covered in padded vinyl/leatherette stuff with a stud pattern all over it? I recall watching my uncle work all day transforming all the doors in their house. Some were brown but there was definitely a green one.

TornFromTheInside · 17/08/2018 19:49

PSB, they aren't binoculars, it's my ViewMaster - I'm looking at 3D images of flowers

West Ham or nothing Torn.

TornFromTheInside · 17/08/2018 19:50

The Spanish Lady - Tina was posted earlier in the thread (If it's the one I'm thinking of)

Tie front cheesecloth shirt anyone?

Nice and scratchy and worn with flared jeans and wedges.

I remember wearing something similar to the Queen’s Silver Jubilee street party in Hounslow High Street. Classy, me.

TornFromTheInside · 17/08/2018 19:53

Do you still have your Silver Jubilee coin?

Also loved Scraps, would send hours doing that - we would have angels, flowers or whatever in sets, from tiny up to large. Water babies, they were popular. And we'd swap them (I am also Scottish). And balls, we had little rhymes and the bouncing went, 1. plain against the wall, then 2. under the right leg, 3. under the left leg, 4. through the legs, can't recall what came next. Elastic ropes, that we called Chinese ropes for some reason. We seemed to play for weeks at one thing then all of a sudden everyone changed to the next thing.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 17/08/2018 19:56

I had the top to toe Pierrot bedroom. The dolls scared the fuck out of me!

CatchyUsername · 17/08/2018 20:01

Torn Yes I do Grin in its little blue plastic wallet I think and stored in my lovely jewellery box which I artfully decorated with transfers of flowers (as I did with my Olivetti Dora typewriter case, thus reducing its value to 21st century eBay purchasers!!)

Tina was a different model - they were by an artist called JH Lynch. I think the crying boy might have been him as well.

Was the crying boy the cursed picture or was it the green Korean (?) lady?

TornFromTheInside · 17/08/2018 20:04

The Crying Boy was 'cursed' (wrote about it earlier) - all nonsense of course

Tried to send some pics but my internet is very slow.
